  1. Highly unlikely. They'd be more likely to buy fairly successful yet smaller parks IMHO. New England and Fiesta Texas, for example. I'd put that at 99.9% unlikely. Partnership. I sure as hell don't want them to buy my park Yea, I neglected the word 'all' because I seriously doubt they would take over the entire chain.
  2. Well, it will probably be safe. Chances are even IF they do close the park full-time it could still stay standing for the Mid-South fair (re: that fair in Washington)
  3. Article from Cleveland's News Net 5 The word that jumped out more than any in that article is several...
  4. Ted, you kick ass. Too bad I already had mine done, that's a GREAT tool. Yay for computer geeks! Jay - The Lake's Wildcat at 12? Dayum, I thought you gave it a 9/10
  5. Hey that's how she wants to do it so let her! I used the counting numbers until I got to Mean Streak, Predator and PSyclone, and then I went in increments of 100 cause dammit that's how I feel! Sure, it makes no difference, but that's just what I think of them
  6. Oh man I used to go to the Monday Night games in Pittsburgh all the time, I haven't been in a while. My uncle has season tickets and never went on MNF games so we used to drive up for a weekend and go. Oh how I miss seeing the Steelers in person, Primanti sandwiches and a trip on the Gateway Clipper to get to the game - Joe, proud Steelers fan since my PA native father brainwashed me
  7. Believe it or not, I found a website to explain it best: Click here to BUY a giant foam shocker That should give you an idea Peace sign? Chukin tha deuce is the new term 8) edit: Oh yea, Wally's throwin out a shocker in his avatar: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=744
  8. I like riding in the back and my girlfriend loves it! She seems to get more *excited*
  9. Poly == Polyurethane (spell check please). Most wooden coaster wheels are metal, which --I'm prety sure they would-- have more maintenece issues than poly--- does. Looking back at some old PTC blueprints circa the mid 40's, I don't see any calculus being used. However, that's not to say it wasn't used on other documents that I don't have. Good analysis redunzelizer!
  10. Are you kidding me? They both use the same technology and are both pretty smooth with a bit of roughness in some of their older models. IMHO this is a pretty pointless thread :?
  11. Sent. I cheated though, I filled mine out after I got back from BGT since I knew I wouldn't get any more woodies in between then and now Don't worry if you have only been on three or four, so long as you have been on at least two, its the comparison that counts, so your ballot counts the same as mine with 35 woodies or Elissa's with 132! This poll kicks ass 8)
  12. West Virginia is one of the most redneck states around!!! Like Jeff "stewie says: you suck" Foxworthy says, there are rednecks in every state anyways.
  13. 80% (Dixie). Your neck must be at least pink! Git ur dun
  14. In other words its "Cedar Fair-safe"
  15. Though I don't think you picked the best examples, yea, CF is trying to make every one of their parks look the same. Too bad they don't get the same criticisms that Six Flags does, but oh, wait... that's not what the cool kids do Really? Take a closer look at Raptor/Silver Bullet and Talon/Patriot. Face it, CF does the same thing that SF does, buying rides in masses. Whether its Morgan hypercoasters or Screamin' Swings they aren't any better than Six Flags.
  16. Word is Top Gun will ride. Flyers too? Hmm... I think I should get a Carowinds fix in December 8) However, this is the official listing on the Carowinds site: If they don't run Top Gun and the Flyers I probably wont go myself simply because I can get my theme park christmas celebration in elsewhere like Dollywood!
  17. You gotta know someone important and be prepared to drop down to your knees! No, its mostly enthusiasts, media-types and other *special* folks.
  18. ehh... using terms like "best ever" sets oneself up for disapointment in my opinion. Sure, it looks like it will be a lot different than the other flyers and probably break all of the records, but that's not always good (Hydra was different and Dragster/Ka were a lot bigger...) Joe says: "Hype is the evil twin of suprise"
  19. Looks to me like she's doing the "choke" move....
  20. No its going to be around 45, it will be just like Silver Star's lift, or more locally, Sheikra.
  21. You're right! Damn all this time I had Sunday in my mind for some reason. Wow, that would have been embarassing
  22. Brisket at Trappers Smokehouse (BGW) or Zambia Smokehouse (BGT) Pretty much everything at Dollywood, epecially the Funnel Cakes and baked goods in the shops near the entrance. Buffalo Chicken fingers at SFNE, really good hot sauce fo some reason Pretty much anything at City Walk or even inside the Universal parks is good. I REALLY liked the Jerk Chicken Wings at Marley's The buffet food at The Lake. Of course, what ACE event wouldn't be complete without a kickass buffet? - Joe, who thinks potato patch fries are terribly overrated
  23. Yep, and Kieth is doing it so it will be good too, unlike the La Ronde one
  24. Wow, complete oposite of when I went a few weeks ago. Well, I got on the first ride in the morning and the trim before the batwing was off, but the other times it on pretty hard, not to mention the bitch of a midcourse that sucked. Oh well, maybe we caught it on a bad day.
