No, I'd much rather wait in line for a coaster and catch Pokemon while in that line, than pay extra cash for a line-skip pass! I know many people would, but if I'm coughing up $80 for a one-day ticket (I have a pass, but still...), then I don't want to add extra moolah on to that! I will give you $20 if you are able to do the following. Go the SFGAdv on Saturday 15th, 22nd or 29th (provided it doesn't rain) and do the following. Arrive one hour after the park opens. Then wait in line to ride the following coasters in this order without a Flash Pass. 1) Kingda Ka 2) Superman: Ultimate Flight 3) Joker 4) Green Lantern 5) Nitro 6) Batman: The Ride 7) Medusa 8) El Toro You are free to eat or ride other coasters/rides during your slow time If you can provide video proof, the $20 bill is yours. A video of someone torturing themselves waiting on those lines all day is worth the $20 expenditure. Granted you might not even might it on to 5 coasters over the course of the day. I think if you try this you will see why Flash Pass can be a necessity for people on a schedule.

I still have faith in the project opening in my lifetime. Currently projected for a 2018 opening, the following article confirms some licensing deals that have been approved. Most important to our community is the amusement park being themed with Nickelodeon Universe intellectual property. Secondly, the waterpark will be themed to DreamWorks IP. Lastly, there will be inclusion of Legoland Discovery Center (mis-identified, as a Legoland in the article) and a Sea Life Aquarium. Other previously announced entertainment at the complex will include movie theaters, a bowling alley, a 300 foot observation wheel and the 12 story indoor ski park. http://patch.com/new-jersey/mahwah/nickelodeon-universe-theme-park-coming-american-dream-meadowlands Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park Coming To American Dream Meadowlands Eight-and-one-half acre park will feature ride and attractions featuring SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. By Daniel Hubbard (Patch Staff) - September 13, 2016 BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to American Dream Meadowlands. Developer Triple Five has partnered with Nickelodeon on its creation of the largest indoor amusement park in the western hemisphere, Nickelodeon Universe. The eight-and-one-half acre park will feature rides and attractions based on Nickelodeon-owned properties, similar to the Nickelodeon Universe at another Triple Five-owned property — the Mall of America in Minnesota. That theme park features rides like the Fairly Odd Coaster, Diego's Rescue Rider, and Shredder's Mutant Masher. “Based on the success we have seen with Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America we are excited to bring the number one entertainment brand for kids to American Dream,” Triple Five President Don Ghermezian said in a statement. Tickets for the park will be available in a variety of options, from single-ride to an annual pass. The 91-acre complex will be broken up into five connected sections more than a half-mile long when it opens in the fall of 2018. The $5 billion project is expected to add 20,000 jobs to the North Jersey and compete with New York City as the go-to tourist and family entertainment destination in the area. Nickelodeon is the latest brand to bring its intellectual properties to the property. DreamWorks, owner of popular movie franchises such as "Shrek," "Kung Fu Panda," and "How To Train Your Dragon," is the official partner of American Dream's water park. LEGOLAND is designed specifically for children ages 3 to 10. It will feature a 4D cinema, Lego brick pool, and rides. Kids can also take Lego building classes. A 22,000-square-foot adult arcade, For The Win, will feature state-of-the-art gaming, a bowling alley, live music performances, and a selection of craft beers. A 1,500-seat, 4D movie theater will allow moviegoers to "smell" the film they're watching. The first Sea Life aquarium in New Jersey will feature a tropical ocean tank with a walk-through underwater tunnel. There will also be a 300-foot-tall observation wheel, a 12-story indoor ski park with an 800-foot-long hill, and a food court with 15-restaurants and 50 grab-and-go offerings. American Dream Meadowlands was slated to open in the summer of 2017, but Triple Five pushed the open date back to the fall of 2018 because of difficulities securing the financing needed for the $5 billion project.

True Coaster Credits
larrygator replied to Angle O. Descent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think we will let this stay as a stand alone thread for awhile, but may merge it into the Coaster Credit thread. I have to be honest, I no time or inclination to figure this out. Especially since they may be coasters that appear to be clones that may have a slight track variation. -

I heard about this the other day, but was waiting for confirmation. I didn't realize it would be two tracks. Thanks. -
Golden Ticket Awards 2016

Just because Cesari's is better than most amusement park pizza, doesn't make it good. The sauce has no flavor and the crust is too thick and usually undercooked. I've tried it on five occasions only because I had a food voucher the 4 most previous times, and never finished my slices. If you want good amusement park pizza in Pennsylvania head to DelGrosso's -
Very true. They know what they're doing with capital, but being me I would rather see more coasters. Nevertheless, Mystic Timbers looks awesome and am exciting to ride. 2018 2019 and beyond.. I know it is not a stretch to say there will be more coasters in 2018 than 2017 for Cedar Fair, but with improving financials at the comapny I really do expect some big announcements for 2018.

Golden Ticket Awards 2016
larrygator replied to GCI Wooden's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me personally, I wouldn't really call anything a gripe because I can't get enough of these awards in their current form. True, "gripe" was the wrong word but I couldn't think of the right word to convey "expressions of wonderment from people about what won and what was excluded". -
Golden Ticket Awards 2016

The drop down menus to select coasters were a mess and not intuitive. I could not find Coaster (at Playland). I did get a return email where to find it. However, when I tried to save my ballot to complete later it got submitted instead of being saved for future use. I do think it is funny the after the awards are posted we see the same thing ever year. I'm not just talking about the winners, but the gripes. As Elissa said these awards are not accurate if you are a well traveled, seasoned enthusiast. You are asked to rate the Top Ten coasters, but many take this directive and name their ten favorite coasters. It is very apparent that A) many chose the coasters they ride most frequently over the best they have ever ridden or B) many don't travel and ride as much as they claim or C) many don't factor if a coaster has deteriorated over time -
MY FIRST TRIPREPORT - Euro2016

A very nice start to your first Trip Report. -
Violent? The Premier Skyrockets are some of the smoothest coasters out there. Anyhoo Gold Rusher looks great, hope to see some of these in the U.S. some day. Agreed. I don't think the Premier Sky Rockets are rough at all. Gerstlauer's launched rides are pretty smooth, too, so I think this will be a nice replacement for that old Schwarzkopf. I'm not a big guy (although I get bigger each year), but I do find the cars cramped. Never had a problem with roughness though.

Most people on this site will NEVER be exposed to this whole underside on a regular basis. Hoping that none of my students or their family members get murdered this year. -

While I agree with you, I don't think insurance companies agree. Otherwise I think more parks would utilize the space inside the helixes and wide turns like they do at Cliff's -
Six Flags Food

Macho Nacho is my go to place at SFGAdv since I have the dining pass. Burgers at Garden State Grill are good and I'm always a big Nathan's fan. Panda Express at SFGAdv is great because it has a more extensive menu (i.e.: Beijing Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp) than many locations at other Six Flags parks At SFNE, JB's SmokeHouse is my go to place for food and always has super cold air conditioning. -
I don't know if Blue Streak deteriorated over the past few years, but I enjoyed my rides on it. The second half was boring, but the first three drops provides nice pops of air including intense air from the back row on the first drop. When riding, it was the first time in years I pulled my hands down and reached for the bar. Parts of the park certainly need continued help being restored but recent pictures I've seen are a huge improvement from 7-8 years ago. Unless you were there ten years ago it is hard to see the improvements, since progress on ongoing and the park doesn't have wads of money to work in those areas. With a limited ride line-up they need to upkeep the rides first. The park isn't going to make money on people just walking around the grounds they need ride revenue.

If you notice a ride in the Park Index without pictures, then I need pictures. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have to say, with that terrain this will be a great coaster engineering feat for RMC. I haven't been to Kolmarden, but this unused terrain around Kennywood is much steeper than the terrain where Boulder Dash and Lightning Run sit. I do really hope it is true. -
