  1. Casino Royale - Whoo Hoo!
  2. Back on topic: Fly Me To the Moon was weak. The story made sense but it was too short and anticlimatic. The motion effects peaked in the middle of the movie. When the film ended everyone just sat there waiting for a "real" ending but the house lights came on and the audience was told to exit. Of all the SF simulator movies I have seen: Dino Island>Right Stuff>Spongebob>Days of Thunder>Fly Me to the Moon
  3. mmmm! That Peanut Butter Pie looks great.
  4. June 8th - Hell yeah, I'll be there! Larry, I had jury duty with Debbie Harry! Well, I almost had it with her. She got dismissed from our jury before it started. G "Be@$t from the E@$t" Money "Were you only dreaming Dreaming is free"
  5. I would have the think the intramural sports fields or the paintball complex (along with dozens of ideas not listed in the article) are more apt to happen before a roller coaster. More than likely this came out of a brainsotrming session with dozens of ideas suggested but only the most unusual end up as a lead in the media.
  6. It would make sense to make this a standard courtesy. As far as the policy. I have no problem with it as I'll no longer bring anything extra into a SF park and only shop on the way out. Outside of families with small children or people with medical needs there is nothing ones "needs" to bring into the park. I know some might find this hard to believe but cell phones, MP3 players, and electronic games are not necessities. Society got along nicely without them for a long time. People visting amusement parks got along without them for decades.
  7. if your name is Ted Cromwell. Actually, this may be one of Barry's best threads.
  8. Scott - is that Webster riding BTMR with you and the wife?
  9. Queen is the Big Mike of the music world! I hear what you are saying Wes, but agree with Chuck and Scott. I view Hard Rock Park sort of like the Hard Rock casino in that at the least I'll enjoy the music while I'm there.

  11. No - I did not feel safe riding the Williams Grove Cyclone. I felt like it would collapse. I do not feel safe riding coasters at carnivals and fairs.
  12. In case anyone is concerned. Rest assured that the ride ops will allow you to ride the Star Flyer under the influence of alcohol.
  13. I almost got sick 5 years ago on the SFFT Frisbee after a night of many Shiner Bock's. This year thanks to proper rehydration I did not encounter any problems with the SFFT Frisbee.
  14. Great White North
  15. First off these are better than anything I could have down. Just like coasters I have trouble described the nuisances of video so I put videos into the categories: 1 - Those I enjoyed and watched intently throughout 2 - Those that I would have had no trouble fast forwarding Dave - I expected not to like this videa but I really did like it. Sometimes Dave's humor goes over me, but Derek acting foolish and any mockery of Barry is low brow enough for me. It was very entertaining with appropriate music, yet tame by Dave standards. Barry - the video just sycns up well with the music, the only downer is having to hear Ryan annoying voice Darren - captures the essence of the TPR trip Kevin - I liked the beginning (slowing down the video) but I became bored before the video ended. The second half seemed liked the first half speeded up. Pam/Brian - captures the essence of PPP which is an event not just about the coasters. Negatives for no Flyer or Scooter video. Also, Ticket to Ride has always been a more depressing Beatles tune so it just didn't put me in the mood.
  16. What type of enthusiast are you riding Thunderhead (or any highly ranked wood coaster) just once? LAME Thunderhead is one of the few woodies that I prefer in the front row versus the last row.
  17. You didn't forget about it, you probably were sleeping at that point in the ride.
  18. I hear you but it is a stretch. A penguin with magical flying powers would just make more sense. I hear they are becoming more common nowadays.
  19. Maybe I'm missing something here. Aquatic environment and flying coaster. That just doesn't synergy in my book. Theme it to a seagull and you have something! Or theme it to a penguin that magically learns how to fly. Jahan would love it!.
  20. I'm glad SF Corporate was able to help with the pass processing. I'll get my Texas fix in a day. I'm really looking forward to my return to SFFT and my first visit to SeaWorld San Antonio. On my last trip I had to decide between the two parks, this this I have time for both. Yay! Unfortunately, I couldn't work out a longer layover in Houston, or I'd contemplate a quick side trip to Kemah, but the Boardwalk is too far from the airport.
  21. I was at the park for last year's Coaster Celebration but not for the actual event. I did my typical dash to El Toro when the park opened. As luck would have it, the event had ERT on Nitro up until the time the park opened. It is such a long walk from Nitro to El Toro that the ET line was shorter than usual the first hour the park was opened. I got about 6-7 rides on El Toro before the Coaster Celebration people started filling up the queue.
