  1. Certainly - I'll say this, they have the 2nd best run Whip (after Rye Playland). Timber Falls would be a shame as Avalanche is my 2nd favorite woodie.
  2. ^I would do the opposite and go to Playland the first day for a couple of hours and arrive at Lake Compounce right when the Twilight special starts. Then head to SFNE the next day. Quassy is not worth stopping at unless you are just piling up coaster credits, nothing else of note at the park. Not even any good game in the arcade.
  3. Five Guys is better than In n' Out. It's close but Five Guys wins.
  4. ^^I hear you. I put off FunSpot for years as a joke, not thinking it would close. I always said I would not visit until I hit every other park in the US. This year besides the ones I mentioned earlier I'm planning to get to the following independent parks while I'm in their vicinity: Shady Lake (small park outside Dallas) Little Amerricka Scandia (SoCal) Castle Park (SoCal)
  5. Trimpers always seems to be in trouble, any shore park can get like that with development, but local taxes seem to be the big problem with Trimpers. Wild Adventures - how does it stay open You better get to Ghost Town soon. I have no idea how Oaks Park, Enchanted Forest and PNE Playland do financially, but I'm trying to get to them all this year. Castles and Coasters doesn't scream "I'll live forever" Hell you might as well get to as many independent parks as possible that park don't rave about. Even if they have decent attendance overhead is high at a lot of parks.
  6. ^That's the last image Erik's luggage before becoming splattered upon.
  7. It sure sounds like the line would be even longer if Flash Passers were allowed unlimited rides on X2 for a low fee. Maybe a better solution would be unlimited rides for $10 but with a long time gap (4-6 hours) between rides.
  8. An additional $10 doesn't seem out of line considering how cheap the season passes/Flash Passes are at SFMM relative to the only comparable SF park in SFGAdv. SFMM patrons have it easy on the cost front.
  9. Thank you for sharing, if you have more photos please share them, also. To be a more complete site TPR would love to see more pictures from all South American parks.
  10. I know Robb and Elissa have expressed an interest in visiting South America within the next 3 years, but they have not announced any specific plans yet.
  11. thanks Jay, I thought I had a source for Bowcraft pictures but that fell through.
  12. ^Jay - some of the GCI guys go there on weeknights to take out frustrations on the bumper cars. You consider that if the job gets stressful.
  13. ^It's hard to say a coaster rated in the Top 10 of Mitch's Poll for 9 of the last 10 years is underrated. Off the beaten path - Yes Underrated - No
  14. ^thanks those were great and most have been added. The database is progressing along quite nicely with coasters, hopefully we get more of the larger/popular flat rides added this summer, so Southern Star and Phantom Flyers were helpful.
  15. ^you should e-mail Dan with that question
  16. thanks Joey - I forgot to point that out. If you go the TPR Park Index (link is at the top of each screen) and type in "Retro" in the search field - I have been categorizing many of the older PTRs as "retro" www.themeparkreview.com/parks/search.php?keyword=retro
  17. ^Turns out I misaligned a spreadsheet and Worlds of Fun is the park where we don't have a picture of the Wacky Worm thanks for catching that
  18. Let's not try this again. It does not need its own thread. Picture of the Day Thread Locked
  19. I hope his html skills are better than his spelling. However, I for one do not want my photos posted on another site.
  20. The pizza at Animal Kingdom may very well be the worst food ever served at an amusement park.
  21. Although Martin Luther King Jr. said the following in referring to race, it applies to many areas just by changing the italicized words. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Over time I have learned not to judge any individual or group of people until I know them individually. I have met people of many religions, nationalities, age groups, sexual orientations, political factions, race, etc... and can honestly say I have found individuals I like and individuals I dislike in each group. It is very important to go through life with an open mind, you don't have to agree with everybody, but disagreeing with others out of ignorance never helps a situation.
  22. ^Wrong - Dan loves e-mails, keep sending them.
  23. ^Not different enough. I'll change the title and merge the threads.
