Legoland in Orlando?
larrygator replied to ~mike~'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My guess would be that not enough Orlando vacationeers visit Busch Gardens to fully sustain it. Busch Gardens needs the local support of the very large Tampa/St Pete metro area. The Cypress Gardens area does not have this massive base population, especially at the high admission prices for Legoland properties. -
If you plan on getting Gold Flash Passes anyway I suggest all three parks also. You can do SFNE (with the Gold Flash Pass) for 5 hours and then Lake Compounce on the same day. Lake Compounce has an after 5PM special, quite frankly you only need 3-4 hours at Lake Compounce and Boulder Dash runs much better later in the day.

^Sadly not anymore, legal reasons prevent a lot of the same gags. I think the funhouse and Jenkinson's Pier (New Jersey) is the best we still have in the US. Noah's Ark at Kennywood is fun but not in the same vein as the European ones. The Allatoria at Williams Grove (before Williams Grove closed) was ok, except for the fact that most of the stunts didn't work. The one at Trimper's looks at lot better than it is. I think I have been to most of the remaining U.S. funhouses outside of the ones in Maine.

North NJ Park & Pier Question?
larrygator replied to Speeddeamon128's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^There were an article in the Atlantic City Press last Thursday, Friday or Saturday. I know I got a Google news alert about it. It is wasn't a kiddie coaster I would have linked the article on TPR. -
I believe the Dragen scrambled your brains. It is a "Flic Flac", not a "Flip Flop" Yes, that fresh salmon sandwich was much better than a burger.

Need advice on Knoebels food

Imagine a corn dog, but with mozzarella cheese instead of the hot dog. I know it is available at the Totem Treats food stand, not sure where else it is sold. -

The last I heard, most forms of speech (spoken and written word) are protected in the USA. Of course there are exceptions when the "speech" is indecent, could cause harm or when slander/libel is involved. Even though I passed a "Law of Mass Communications" course, I'm no legal expert either. -

North NJ Park & Pier Question?
larrygator replied to Speeddeamon128's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hint! Hint! The Park Index needs Bowcraft ride photos. Some of the flats are quite good and the pizza there is excellent. In my book only Delgrosso's has better amusement park pizza than Bowcraft. -
Brian - much appreciated as we didn't have many pictures in the Park Index for Camden Park. I'll be adding many of your pictures to the index tonight. While the park is small there are certainly a couple of unique flats worth riding for anyone stopping by the park. The Whip - along with the one at Rye Playland, are the only ones that truly "whip" you around the turns. Hot Cat - which if memory serves me correctly is a caterpillar without the canopy. Haunted House - I believe this any the recently reopened Devil's Den at Conneaut are the only two gravity powered dark rides left in the US.

North NJ Park & Pier Question?

Keansburg (in 2005) and Bowcraft (in 2008) did not give me any trouble in riding their kiddie coasters. -

jbarner14 - I agree 100% with your pizza assessment. DelGrossos > Knoebels. My problem with Knoebels' pizza is that sometimes it is not cooked long enough. I don't know about. Delgrossos' Pizza is very, very good. I'd say it definitely beats Knoebels'. If I'm anywhere close to Delgrossos, I'll make sure to go out of my way to get a pizza from there. -

I'm not so sure it is the parents who have serious issues. Didn't this kid already state that his parents are doing this because he is a poor student? -
^ and ^^ I was never instructed on this proper leg placement position, but I did make up for it by partaking in the park's Taco Buffet for lunch.

I dunno about that. Think about it. Larger parks like Kings Dominion, Great America, Dorney Park, Kennywood, Hersheypark and even California Adventure have a standard Wild Mouse that seats four people per car. Most of those wild mice run 5 to 7 cars. Tranan ran 4 cars with 8 people. Perhaps with more R&D its even capable of more? If a larger park can sustain a wild mouse I see no reason why they can't have this coaster as well. --Robb "Capacity might be a problem, just like with a Wild Mouse, but it wouldn't be a huge problem." Alvey Agreed, if R&D can get more cars running at one time it wouldn't be such a capacity issue. However, I just see how lines get for any new coaster (espacially a new type of coaster) at large US parks and while lines might die down in later years the lines will be unbearable the first year or two. Mice also have low capacity but also a small base that must ride them.
-
Besides what Elissa said, I found the seats to be uncomfortable and awkward. There was no way to brace yourself coming into the brake run and I experienced many fellow trippers placing there hands on my back to stop their momentum. Not something that would go over well in the US amongst strangers. Also, some people had their right knee collide with the seatbelt mechanism of the seat in front of them. Lastly capacity would be a huge problem at a larger park. Regarding the cleanliness of the Scandi parks. With the exception of Norway most were litter free (Norwegian teens don't know what a trash can is). However, some restrooms were older and a little run down and dirty. Skara was not the Zaragoza of the trip, that would be Grona Lund or Power Park.
