  1. Robb isn't about to set himself up as a middle man for individual transactions. eBay and Amazon put a lot of effort to guarantee that people are not fleeced and the companies only make money based on sheer volume. One bad transaction and who gets bad mouthed - TPR I am confident this will never happen on TPR. Dan - Good question, but it is "bold" to ask someone how much they make. Robb is not going to discuss how much he makes off of each person on each trip, and of course that amount would probably vary by trip size. As someone who has been on 4 trips, I'm pretty sure they don't make much per participant, enough to help out but they are not becoming rich. I have calculated costs my self for the individual portion of some of these trips and even with volume discounts (that I am guessing at based on typical group discounts) I don't see too much padding in the price they charge. With Robb away and focusing on the current trips I'm going to lock this thread. When Robb returns he can reopen if he wants, but there is not a need to debate and speculate on these topics.
  2. That is a question best answered by a doctor, not someone on TPR!
  3. The photo of the island from the Man with the Golden Gun was great.
  4. And the letter of intent could be as simple as Nickelodeon being locked as the licensee for theming in the kid's area if the park gets off the ground. In that case Nickelodeon, isn't even putting any skin in the game just preparing to cash a licensing check.
  5. And the new owners don't have to charge nearly as much because their debt load is much lower than the original owners. But they have to convert first time guests into repeat guests somewhere down the road.
  6. Is there a "queen of the flumers?"
  7. I merged all SFNO fact and speculation threads into one as the controversy never ends.
  8. I can't speak for SFMM, but in rare instances park management will bend the rules if the right person asks nicely or if it is at a private event. On a few of the TPR Europe trips we were told that adults were not allowed on certain kiddie coasters. However, after speaking with park or operations management Robb was able to get TPR members on many (but not all) of the kiddie coasters.
  9. Hanno you have done it again. I think you captured me on the woodie right after Erik cracked my ribs.
  10. You did bring a tool set with you on the trip didn't you? Otherwise, how did your car end up in three pieces?
  11. Bell, Bell, Bell, Bell True - one of the park's signature rides was down and it seems like we all still had a great time.
  12. ^^Well speaking of free soda, that is the next Funatics reward. I used my preferred parking voucher last Saturday and Monday morning I had a offer for two free regular fountain sodas. I think the next reward might be a discount on the price of a 2010 season pass, at least that seemed to be promised via e-mail. Not only will you get free soft drinks on your next park visit, you'll also earn another Funatics Reward: 15% off your 2010 Season Pass. All that, just because you're a Season Pass holder and a Six Flags Funatic.
  13. Except for the car that someone was driving! I'm pretty sure thats not entirely a good thing... haha I don't know if this ride was caught on video, but it was hysterical. Possibly the quietest coaster ride ever as riders leaned forward (unplanned) and tucked in behind the person in front of them (like in a bobsled) to make the train more aerodynamic.
  14. ^At least they let you out on Wednesdays.
  15. You Win! - This is the most comprehensive PTR of Jolly Roger Amusement Park. As proof it has been added to Park Index.
  16. Come on everyone - we should be in this thread to talk about CW, not the environment. For the record, pretty much everything a living human does is unfriendly to the environment. Take all discussions of the environment to the Random Forum. Let's get back on track. This MOD has spoken.
  17. Wow, it sounds like I got lucky when I changed my plans and went on the 4th instead of the 3rd.
  18. You didn't search hard enough! Eagle's Fortress discussion A discussion about the ride's closing starts on Page 2 of this thread.
  19. Operations at the park were excellent on Saturday, July 4th, at least on the two big coasters. On Sayurday I was running late and I arrived at the park right before 1PM (late night of drinking) Nitro was running 3 trains, minimal stacking and one train wait at most from 1PM - 2:15PM. Then I headed to El Toro and got 4 rides in by 3:30, when I left the park. That was a lot more rides than I expected on July 4th with Kingda Ka being down.
  20. The combination of the park, food, hotel and Grand Prix made Power Park the most unexpected park experience of the trip. That reindeer mousse that first night was decadent.
  21. Thanks for the picture showing me riding with Erik on Bakken's woodie. Ah the memories! Since I appear to still be happy, it must be before he slammed me into the right side of the car, crushing me and bruising my ribs on the turnaround.
  22. ^The swings are still listed on the website.
  23. Chris - thank you for pointing these out. Thread will be merged! Please use the search function before starting a new thread.
  24. Is it Prestidigitation World?
  25. I merged this with a older topic. Please use the search function before starting a new Topic, there was no need a start a new thread so similar to this older one.
