  1. On the TPR Tour in 2012 I had a horrible first ride on it because I few idiots on the tour ignored Robb's suggestion that if you are not going to go balls out get to the get of the line so you don't ruin the ride for those behind you. So what do we get, TWO, not one, but TWO tour members who insisted on staying in the front of the line and they proceeded down the course like pussies. I knew they were going to ride slow and told the starter and he allowed me to wait an extra 30 seconds before starting and I still caught the people ahead of me half way down the course. I rode it again immediately afterwards without pussies in front of me and it was much better.
  2. ^Kennywood doesn't have a caterpillar, but Idlewild does.
  3. Dorney is not going to provide much for the fuddy duddy but has the most coasters for you. I'm not sure what fuddy duddy (sorry I just like tying fuddy duddy) would enjoy beyond the log flume Idlewild has a few interesting attractions (Mister Rogers Train, crooked house) that are not intense, and RolloCoaster, a very fun wooden coaster for its size. Idlewild has Ravine Flyer and a few intense flats for you and the two classic Bill Tracey attractions. If possible take advantage of Hersheypark preview plan the night before you plan to spend a whole day there. Fly into whatever airport gives you the best price and flexibility. I hate flying into regional airports.
  4. I am not fond of ones that are closed when I visit a park.
  5. There is only one Japanese park with bad operations!
  6. I'll be rooting for Auburn, but at this point I think FSU snaps the SEC streak.
  7. It took me fifteen seconds to find this existing thread using the words "ride names" in my search. We appreciate your eagerness, but please try searching more thoroughly before starting a new thread.
  8. Yes, it makes sense to the insider if you look at it holistically as Great Adventure brought back a ride that had not been seen in the park in years. Kingda Ka also does make much sense, but the ride was named after one of the lion cubs born on site.
  9. Jay - we need to go to the park again together so you can see a line cutter punch me in the face again.
  10. I never heard of large corporations not having insurance policies. But regarding Six Flags I have an old 2004 Shareholders Annual Report for Six Flags and they paid over $21.3 million in insurance premiums in 2003 and over $22.8 million in insurance premiums in 2004.
  11. You weren't in the wrong seat. It's nothing special, fans of Canobie are confused.
  12. No, not unless Mack starts making that type of ride. A major focus of Europa Park is to showcase their own rides. Of course it could happen (like Silver Star) but I doubt it.
  13. Snoopy's Red Baron Adventure. I don't foresee any of the rest of the peanut gang using guns. On the flip side, Snoopy doesn't have opposable thumbs either.
  14. I've seen them at Lake Winnie and Wild Waves There used to be at least one at one of the Jersey Shore parks
  15. Maybe not. The park itself reopening is going to be a big draw. After things settle down a little the coaster opens and you get another bump. Getting people to come back more than once to the park. Bob, you reasoning makes perfect sense for a park being reborn The only way I would disagree is if a the new ride was promoting as opening with the park at the beginning of the season. Luna Park in Coney Island was absolutely packed on opening day and 5 of 22 rides were not ready. People were just glad to have a park again.
  16. I didn't realize they had a chocolate tasting class at Chocolate World.
  17. SFGAm is 5-6 hours away from St. Louis. They can both be big parks and both be successful. SFOT and SFFT are way closer to each other and both have gotten huge additions in the past years. SFSTL has the potential to be both a family park and a high-thrill park, kind of like SDC (minus the amazing theming, of course). Six Flags Corporate main concern is protecting their turf within a 4 hours radius of SFStL from WoF and SDC. They are not overly concerned about cannibalizing SFGAm business.
  18. Same here, I'll take a taco or a torta. I have food issues (no where as bad as Elissa) and I need to see what I'm eating before I bite into it.
  19. Can you ask them for ice at drink booth? In Europe, sometimes you can't even get ice cubes with your paid drink. And I would rather get kidney stones again than drink any tap water in New Jersey.
  20. HUSS FlyAway is one of the worst rides ever created.
  21. I would love to see photo trip reports from some of those parks, especially Nigloland.
  22. I get that basketballs are a big prize for many people. But only offer basketballs that are not inflated as prizes.
  23. Sorry for ruining it for you. It was ruined seeing a promo ad on TV with scenes from the tribal council.
