G-Force at Drayton Manor. Inverted Lift Hill is a bad start to a layout. -
Who will break 500 feet?
larrygator replied to coasterlover420's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Whatever they save on steel they would probably need to invest on construction/engineering/design costs. You have to worry about the increased costs of working on the side of a hill, excavating to create space for the footers would be difficult and add costs. -

Yep, I'm pretty upset that so many restaurants copy idea such as hamburgers and pizza that were created by others. -

New park in Da Nang Vietnam
larrygator replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I only learn of this park from the article that came across my newsfeed. This is the first time I have heard of the park. -
I don't recall seeing this mentioned before. The article says the park is opening this year. Although it is possible tat the amusement is not opening this year, only the cultural part of the complex. http://www.thanhniennews.com/index/pages/20140209-asia-park-in-central-vietnam-to-operate-this-year.aspx New Asian theme park to open in central Vietnam this year Last updated: Sunday, February 09, 2014 15:00 The first stage of the Asia Park theme park in the central city of Da Nang will be put into operation this year, its main contractor Vietnam-based Sun Group Corporation has announced. Sun Group’s general director Dang Minh Truong said the park was designed by world-renowned American architect Bill Bensley and has been estimated to cost around VND4 trillion (US$189.6 million). The 88-hectare park is located at Hoa Cuong Bac Ward in Hai Chau District, news website Vietnamplus reported. Once completed, the park is expected to welcome about 2.5 million visitors each year, said Truong. The Asia Park includes a culture park, an amusement park, a multi-functional centre and a parking lot. The culture park will showcase replicas of famous architectural works and typical landscapes from nine Asian countries including Japan, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, China, Nepal and Vietnam. The amusement park includes a roller coaster with a height of 125 meters, the fourth highest in the world.

What Brand/Property Needs A Ride?

Meet the Press: The Ride -
Yup, in the end I expect some type of resolution whereby certain aspects of American Dream will be closed for certain hours on the sixteen NFL game days. Traffic really is a mess in that area on game days and I would expect that most people in the know would what to avoid the game day traffic also by not visiting American Dream on said days.

Most heavily themed theme park
larrygator replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There are also some wonderfully themed small family parks in the US, the best of which I've been to is Santa's Village in New Hampshire. -
So far i have seen nothing on USA & MSNBC. Didn't NBC used to show Olympics on these channels previously? So far everything seems to be limited to NBCSN which i don't get Correct, they made the change to NBCSports this year.

Is a native of Africa with dark skin called an African/African? I remember working with a gentleman of English descent who was born in South Africa. He was seriously confused about what would happen if he became an American citizen and his kids started checking off African American on financial aid forms. Would the government think he was trying to make a mockery of the categorization?

He and his wife used to own an island in the Caribbean and I think that is when they started donating money to charitable causes in Dominica. So years ago they were granted citizenship, even though they never lived there. Apparently the IOC goes to non established winter countries and encourages them to find athletes. High ranking government officials encouraged who knew the couple cross country skied, encouraged them to train in an effort to qualify. They spent two years and their own money to make it happen and I'll commend them for their effort. However, in school he was never content with his 98% average and many accused him of cheating in an effort to be at the top of our class, being #3 wasn't good enough for him. Then last week I read an article that said he stopped wrestling after being in a car accident during his senior year in high school. The article said he was in a coma for two days and in the hospital for two weeks. None of the classmates I spoke with remember this serious accident. That's a little sketchy if you ask me. However, I do not believe he paid anyone off to compete for an Olympic spot and he did legitimately qualify. It's not like the days of Eddie the Eagle anymore. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/07/sports/olympics/caribbean-newcomers-dip-their-toes-in-sochis-snow.html?_r=0 Here's an article about a lawsuit that arouse when he sold his private island for $28 million a few years ago. Apparently the buyer under reported the sale price. http://suntci.com/government-gets-million-from-emerald-cay-sale-p402-106.htm

I will be watching women's bobsled as I do love Lolo Jones. I can't believe I'm watching the Opening Ceremonies just to see my pompous high school classmate march in with the island nation of Dominca. Then again it's a lot warming watching it on TV then it was standing in Lillehammer.

Interesting thought, but I don't expect Sochi to turn into a city if significant historical importance.

Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks
larrygator replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We have a separate thread for food within amusement parks HERE. This thread is about places to eat that are not inside the parks.
