  1. My thoughts - they should have give have a copy of the Darien Lake article.
  2. ^I just did a search and did not realize that genre of comedy is called "observational"
  3. It is also gets to a point where if one tribe is too small the largest tribe will have half their tribe sitting out a challenge
  4. You would be an even happier camper if it was like iSpeed.
  5. I'll provide details after I visit next month. I was going to visit last month but a snowstorm hit and they busy were digging out on the only day I could drive up there. I want to verify everything I write from the source.
  6. I'll be making a visit next month, so this is just a update to tide you over. Work is progressing and construction had started on building that will house one of the Pretzel dark rides.
  7. Something Different? This is what Kentucky Kingdom was always about back in the day. I am sure being different is going to be the title of this park in the future as well. Yes, KK's strategy in building this ride in different than the approach taken by many parks. I wasn't questioning the history of previous KK decisions, just applauding their current decision.
  8. You can not fairly compare Cedar Point to SFGAdv. Cedar Point needs to fill they hotel properties to maximize their revenue stream. Filling those hotels exponentially grows revenue versus revenue generated by day trippers to a park like SFGAdv. To market it, it would need to be taller than El Toro by what you are saying. In your opinion, how tall would it be? 200 feet? Market it? SFGAdv doesn't need to market a new coaster because they continue to pack the park on summer weekends.
  9. The locals from the SFGAdv area posting in this thread are borderline delusional. There is nothing wrong with the current coaster line-up at SFGAdv. The park doesn't NEED any type of coaster. Yes, it will be great when something new is built, but when the park keeps pulling in the attendance numbers it does spending that much money on a new coaster is not necessary. I for one don't care if Six Flags builds crappy coasters at SFMM. Sure it would be great to get a RMC or a launch coaster with a layout, but I really don't care for B&M WingRiders.
  10. If they were smart they would hire TPR Media Services to provide content in upcoming years.
  11. I haven't thought of David Brenner in years, but his death reminds me of the influence he had on Seinfeld. He was the original Seinfeld.
  12. I had been planning to check out the pinball machines at "Playland Not at The Beach" the next time I visit the area, but now I have someplace else to visit.
  13. I'm sure that is ride time that will be 7 minutes. That's a pretty good distance between both stations. Is that the exactly time of the train ride in the books? Shhhh! Don't tell JK.
  14. I thought it was just facade and structural fixes, but who knows.
  15. Daniel Tiger is certainly less creepy than Mister Rogers.
  16. I really liked their Alice in Wonderland ride and the full effects of Noah's Ark. I didn't even know how to define the end of Trauma Towers. I remember another walk through had a some haunted swing at the end. Lastly, I remember making it the the brake run of Space Invaders and being evaced. Even though I never made it back to the station, I still count the credit.
  17. The picture of you with your lost relative is downright scary.
  18. I used to love the smell of the Mold-a-Ramas. And I'm no zookeeper, but that's no groundhog thatyou referenced in one caption. Maybe a warthog, but no groundhog.
  19. You are starting to somewhat see this at some parks. Halloween Haunt is the busiest time of year at Kings Island, but a regular season pass does not give you admissions during it, while gold/platinum passes do give you admission. Walt Disney World also offers discounted season passes to local residents, but they only grant admission during the "slower" times of the year. I don't think local residents would even want to go during peak times considering how crowded the parks can become. Not all locals are informed and/or don't plan ahead.
  20. ^When Two Face was there and S:ROS along with Roar were running better (about 7-8 years ago) I considered their line-up better than average. Two Face, S:ROS, Wild One, Joker's Jinx and Roar made for a nice collection. And I'm not even including Batman in the mix, since i was never a fan, but the GP used to love it. However, 7-8 years ago the operations were the worst on the planet.
  21. That makes more sense now, I was focusing too much on the comparing the two parks. True Conneaut is a much cheaper and faster credit with the route.
  22. Not even close. Let me get this straight, you say Coney Island should be avoided because it is a dump, then suggest Conneaut Lake? Now I not go to defend the grittiness of Coney Island, but I can't say Conneaut is any better.
  23. Of course if the coaster doesn't turn out so good, everyone will question going with a prototype. For the record I approve of KK trying to do something different.
  24. I hate to rag on Morey's but I agree with your decision, I really like their Ghost Ship but no standout coasters (the woodie is just OK), no great flats, it's just not worth the effort.
