Your guilty pleasure ride

The one at Dutch Wonderland, which seems "homemade," is fun, too. I was upset on my visit to Arnold's Park that their "Bug House" was not operating. -

Help with my 2015 Summer trip
larrygator replied to dcessford69's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agreed. I'm the type that re-rides over and over so the Wristband is worth it for me. But even on my best day after totaling all my rides, individual ride tickets would have cost me about $50 when the wristband was about $36. -
I'm pooping on your thread. Use this thread instead when you have to poop.

Heroic Land | Calais, France

The location can generate enough visitors to sustain a park. Do tourists actually stop in this area after the ferry or is it just a town that they pass through. -

Help with my 2015 Summer trip
larrygator replied to dcessford69's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dorney is a full day park if do both the waterpark and the dry park. If you plan on spending the day after Dorney at Hershey you should be aware that HersheyPark has a preview plan. If can you purchase your Hersheypark ticket the night before you visit you can spend those last two hours of the park's operating hours in the park for free before enjoying the whole next day. Knoebels is a park best enjoyed at a slow pace. There are so many little things you want to take in. -

Help with my 2015 Summer trip

What's the ultimate goal of the trip? Does everyone love coasters or are you interested in other attractions, too? It sounds look you have some water park fans. The western route includes a lot more driving (especially including SFGAm) and quite frankly you are passing a few really good solid parks in Pennsylvania. I know Cedar Point is considered the roller coaster mecca and I quite enjoy the place myself, but I would consider less driving and ditch Kings Islands and SFGAm in favor of a combination of Knoebels, Kennywood, Hersheypark and Dorney Park (Dorney is only a consideration due to their water park). Of the two routes you chose the northern route includes more coasters, but they is also quality in the southern route. -
2018? You might want to wait until you know what announced at parks in 2015, 2016 and 2017 before setting an itinerary for the parks outside of Florida.

I was going to recommend getting a Hot Brown, so I laughed at the title of this article. http://www.bigjimsrestaurant.com/menu.html Being completely honest, I've lived in Louisville for 8 years and I have never ordered a Hot Brown. It seems to be more of a "tourist" food and on the rich side. One stereotypical Kentucky food to absolutely try is fried chicken at a place like Loop 22 or Sway. Again, so many options for outstanding food in the city of Louisville. I won't argue your point. I was a tourist and it was damn rich, a heart attack waiting to happen. Turkey has never been so decadent.

Help planning Summer Road Trip
larrygator replied to mpmbee's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you arrive at Hershey on Day 13, be aware that you can buy your ticket that night for Day 14 and they will let you into the park for free the last 2 hours on Day 13. It makes the second day a little more manageable by hitting some rides the night before. If you arrive at Hershey an hour before the preview hours start you can easier spend an hour in Chocolate World (free admission) and ride the dark ride (but don't waste money on the upcharge 3D movie). Also, keep parking ticket from the Day 13 preview is good as that is good for free parking on Day 14. Of course going to Knoebels for 3-4 hours on Day 13 is a good option also, but don't buy the wristband as you will not be able to recuperate your money. Buy $20 in tickets and per by the ride. -

I like eating at Famous Dave's at Cedar Point. You have to exit the park and walk across the access road to the Marina. I whole heartedly disagree with the comment that SkyRocket is skippable. I love that coaster. -

My thoughts on these two Tornados which I enjoyed. The SLC is superior to the Vekoma product, but I don't think more have been built because it is not a huge difference from what B&M can achieve in the invert arena. Bakken's Tornado is probably a little too intense for most park's looking for a coaster of this size. Although any park low on space should consider one if they don't want a typical family coaster. -

I couldn't agree more. It really does make you wonder if a Busch Gardens/B&M contract actually existed because the Dive Coasters are in my opinion their best and most innovative design... with not much of a price tag compared to other B&M's. I'm not much of a B&M guy, but I do love Griffon and Sheikra as they're my favorite B&M's and in my top 10 coasters. If there is any doubt that CP doesn't have the best coaster line-up in the country, a Dive Machine would push them over the edge in my opinion. Non-compete clauses are fairly typical in the industry for parks to protect their investment. They do, however, expire after a certain amount of time and are typically limited to a certain number of miles... I do recall hearing on the internet, back in the day, that Busch had exclusivity in the US for 5 years for Dive machines. It does seem strange that we haven't seen more built in the US.
