  1. I was shocked by the two thrilling flat ride additions as well, but definitely pleasantly surprised. I actually commented a few days before the announcement on the Great Escape forum that a frisbee flat would really round out their collection of flats since they have a solid drop tower, incredible scrambler, and plenty of spinning rides.
  2. While I probably won't be able to ride the RMC creations next year, Medusa and Goliath both look like the best additions and if they're like their other coasters, both parks are getting real winners. I'm really excited for the two 400 footers in Zumanjaro and the New England Sky Screamer since I should be able to ride both next year. Overall, Six Flags seemed to do a great job finding attractions that compliment their parks well rather than just copying and pasting an addition chain-wide.
  3. When I read the press release, I immediately pictured a 4-D Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge type dark ride. While I have my doubts this will be better than Men in Black or Toy Story Mania, I definitely won't complain if it is because that means Canada's Wonderland truly has a spectacular dark ride.
  4. With the exception of Crush 'n' Gusher and Summit Plummet, the Great Escape's trap door slide (Cliffhanger) is my favorite water slide anywhere. They're incredibly thrilling no matter how many times you ride them. And I honestly didn't get that bad of a wedgie on it.
  5. I really enjoyed Kings Dominion's Windseeker when I rode it last year. Worlds of Fun is getting a good ride and I'm glad that the ride will be able to run somewhere instead of being nonoperational.
  6. I loved the Pitt Fall when I was there, but I remember reading on Screamscape the year before it was removed that several sides were often closed and that the ride had become really troublesome to maintain.
  7. Maybe it's a trial run on the SFNE site? I would imagine Six Flags would want all of their parks' websites uniform in design.
  8. Six Flags America's crowds aren't that heavy so all of the cars probably won't be necessary anyway. It still would be nice though.
  9. I've been to Dorney three times and have never been in their water park. I tried going in it one year on a Saturday, but the crowds were crazy. It was a struggle just to walk through the wave of people, so I decided to just ride the coasters some more. This slide complex looks great and it should definitely keep the guests flowing through the gate. Funtown's water park added a drop slide like the Python Pit this year and it was a huge hit.
  10. I have to give it to the Coney Island Cyclone. In the back seat, that drop was flat out frightening and intense. With just the lap bar restraint, I got massive ejector air and the drop felt really fast and forceful. Second place goes to El Toro.
  11. That would be insane looking down from that high up. I'm just hoping this drop tower has a solid capacity since Great Adventure can get really busy.
  12. Labor Day weekend can get really busy there. I went a few years ago and the major coasters all had hour plus waits with Bizarro and Batman having waits closer to 2 hours. Goliath wasn't there yet, but with its low capacity it will probably have a wait close to 2 hours as well. I would definitely recommend a flash pass if you want to get on all of the coasters and possibly re-ride some of them. Bizarro does have a single-rider line, but you can't access it until you're halfway through the queue. It also is painfully slow and I would honestly rather wait the extra few minutes to pick my seat. The front seat is hands down the best, but if you don't want to wait extra for the front, row 2 or the back are also good options. Pandemonium and Scream both have excellent single rider lines. If you use them, you can usually get on in less than 5-10 minutes. Pandemonium's single rider line is next to the main entrance and Scream's single rider line is at the ride's exit. The park needs another year to test them. They were testing the new trains into the summer, but they were too light and unreliable. As a result, they decided to run the original trains this year and next year they will try and get the new trains up and running.
  13. Since Six Flags Great America is getting the rumored new RMC coaster, I have a feeling the American Eagle might not get a full refurbishment. However, I agree Cyclone may be behind the others.
  14. Six Flags New England doesn't get as busy daily, so the capacity would be less of an issue at Six Flags New England than it is at Magic Mountain. The fact that they have only added that one ZacSpin does make me doubt one will be added, but I would enjoy seeing one in that spot.
  15. I really like Goliath myself. It's really smooth and thrilling. I've heard mixed things about ZacSpins, but it would be a different ride that the park could market since it seems even the public is confused why the park has both Goliath and Flashback.
  16. I don't think any modifications were made when it was relocated since it looks no different than any other Arrow Loop and Corkscrew. The paint scheme definitely is interesting and I love its location at the very front of the park. It's a very nice sight from the parking lot. I really hope it stays family friendly, but some of the charm was slowly fading until this year. A lot of the park's older attractions were being removed and small bits of theming were being replaced. However, this year it seems like the management is trying to restore of of the park's charm as they readded the Pink Whale and also put their Scrambler back indoors.
  17. Would something like a Zac Spin fit in Flashback's footprint? It would certainly be unique for this region.
  18. I also hope whatever coaster they get is new since they haven't gotten a new coaster since 1997, and that was the Boomerang. Though if construction hasn't started yet, I really wonder how big the ride could be. Could the park reuse the old Nightmare building? I could see them putting a coaster like Rajin' Cajun in there. One funny note, if the park got SFGAm's Rajin' Cajun, it would be the second relocated Rajin' Cajun that they received since the Steamin' Demon was called that in its old location.
  19. I agree 100%. I've ridden Rolling Thunder quite a bit over the last few years and don't find it rough at all. I find it horribly boring in every seat, but not rough. Last year I got some really good rides on the left side. It was raining all day and Rolling Thunder was actually traveling quite fast! The entire return leg had solid air-time on every hill.
  20. I also wish they had another thrilling flat. They have a pretty solid collection of flat rides, but I feel like something like a frisbee would really help round out their ride selection as well. Soarin' Eagles was a nice addition that can be ridden by everyone, but other than Sasquatch, Blizzard, and maybe Condor, they don't have any really intense flat rides.
  21. The ARM towers are amazing and every bit as good as everyone says. I rode the one at DelGrosso's and it was intense. The ride vehicle drops like a rock. If a drop tower is mounted to Kingda Ka's support structure, how much do you think the supports will sway compared to the versions at Magic Mountain and Dreamworld?
  22. I wish I could change my vote to Lightning Racer. When I originally voted, I gave it to Hershey's Wildcat. While it wasn't the smoothest coaster, it had major ejector air in the PTC trains and was a fast and relentless wooden coaster. However, since the Millennium Flyers were added the intensity was taken away. It's still a solid coaster, but it simply doesn't match Lightning Racer's purely fun ride. I just wish the Millennium Flyers had better lap bars. I wish they weren't as heavy and constantly pressing downwards since I feel that they take away from the air-time a bit. It would be nice if they sat like the lap bars on PTC trains. I still love GCI's coasters though.
  23. Canobie Lake Park is my home park. It's one of my favorite parks thanks to the atmosphere and collection of rides, but it isn't as good as some of the bigger parks like Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens, and Hersheypark.
  24. I'd love for a nice steel coaster to be added to compliment the Comet. I enjoy the Alpine Bobsled a lot and they have a smooth Boomernag, but neither are exceptional attractions. I'm definitely going to listen in on their announcement Thursday to see if they get anything worth going back for.
  25. Since the park is somewhat limited with space, I have a feeling it will happen within the next 5 years. It's the perfect candidate.
