  1. ^ Not all of them, Jon. It's turned into a 'stock rotation' thing with me, every year after a tour. The useable stuff I try to keep close by, like in the kitchen. But still, I think the (I'll call them) "worst collection" I have, is alllll of those capsule machine toys I have picked up, especially on the Japan tours. Those and cellphone 'things' are about to be all bagged up and tagged using the various tour years I can remember, lol. And for you Jon - a 'special collection' I have on display in the kitchen. (o;
  2. It's Souvenirs Time! So, to (almost) end this trip report, here's the collection of stuff I managed to pack away and bring back with me. Lots of paper, including those all-important (most of the time) park maps. And mugs and magnets and ...stuff. The Pile, after unpacking everything. Close up on the right.. Close up on the left. Got these at Fantasy Island, Skegness. Gnomes on trash cans...a perfect match! Voila! Unfortunately, they only lasted a few months, then began peeling away from the container. Where a few of the tour's magnets showed up. The three (below the multi-coloured rectangle)... The Valhalla "wet group shot" at Blackpool; Efteling; and Gardaland. The mugs and drinking containers! And yes, I do bring back water bottles that are park-branded too. This one was from Efteling. And the ridiculously tall one on the left, was from PhantasiaLand. And many, many slushies that day, too. Couple of VooDoo dolls and pair of boots. First one, I actually forget. Second one is from the Mumbo Jumbo Gift shop at the coaster's exit, in FlamingoLand. And Boots belong to The Giant in Efteling Park's FairyTale Forest walk-around. It's really nice, and worth the extra time, away from rides. And it has the sh**ing donkey too! (o:
  3. ^^^^ Bob, what I did with my smaller non-useable cups and mugs (yes I collect those, too), was stack them pyramid-style in a kitchen window. I must admit though, we have a fairly large house with plenty of "showing space" around. By the way, where are all your Starbucks mugs from? I got a pair of demi-tasse cups in China, but that's all (thankfully) I have...so far. (o; ^^^ Neil, those look great! I especially like mugs like the '13' and 'Alton towers' ones, where the image is 'raised' on the mug? Don't know what that's called (anyone?), but I have several mugs like that (to be shown later). ^^ I have to say, that there seems to be much better responses to specific souvenirs threads (t-shirts, magnets), than just an all-purpose All Souvenirs Combined thread. Which is awesome! ___________________________________________________________ * The "Twins" of The Big Blue Hotel Remember that movie "Twins" with Danny Devito and Ahhhhnold playing....twins? Well, this is sort of like that. These are two coffee mugs I picked up, on two different TPR tours of the UK. The first smaller one, was bought in 2006 on the very first (public) TPR UK Tour. At the impressive Big Blue Hotel, which is located right beside a bunch of coasters in the equally impressive Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park. If you were lucky, one side of the hotel (and your room) faced into the park, with a few of it's coasters and attractions to see. That's the way we (Fran and me) got our room in the 2010 UK-Europe TPR Tour. And the Hotel also had shot some steroids into their coffee mugs and it was a BIG MUG! So I got that one, too. So I call these mugs "The Twins" (sort of). One of these has put on some weight, The other has remained slim & trim. (o; Hmmm. Looks like the 2006 mug will not reveal it's "where made" information. And what the heck is Porcelite? The BIG Big Blue Hotel mug from 2010. A bit dark, but still readable. On the inner rim of the mug - contact info! I still like this first mug (2006). It's not big, but that's okay. And inside it's rim. A phone number of the Hotel, possibly not still in use. Back of the mugs. And I'm surprised the 2010 mug didn't do it's main image on the front and back, like the 2006 one did.
  4. I should have reported it first. Well, it got done. Next time.....
  5. Ooo, didn't think of that! And of course the luscious pastries will have a typical Disney spin on them - but not everything. Croissants are....sacred.
  6. No, not particularly. Actually, he looks like a locker. Do you brush your teeth at least 2 times a day?
  7. "Where Are We Now? David Bowie
  8. ^ Hey, ya gotta start somewhere, right? And your cup sounds great! Blueprint style?
  9. Wait! A Compliance Sign? When did "Snow White" get this posted? And is this (of course, the children...) the only attraction with such a sign? Important questions, Chuck. Uh......really?
  10. "Apache" (instruemtal) The Shadows
  11. I got to Disneyland only once during it's Christmas season. And I wish Nightmare had been installed in Mansion back then. The movie had already been out, but the overlay didn't happen till I had been there. Still, I got to see the version in Tokyo Disneyland (2007 TPR Tour) and it was very cool - if not easy to understand. Great TR Chuck! Looking forward to more (but never "the same"). (and EDIT to add: And DCA was still a parking lot, 1996)
  12. "Hold on, Goin' Home" Drake
  13. Well, I actually counted all the mugs and cups I have collected through the years, before and during the "TPR Touring Years", lol. Turned out I have nearly a month's collection of the things! So with that in mind, I am going to start this thread, and share the mugs, with a mini-story here and there about how I came to collect it/them. And please feel free to show what you have, too! It's nice to have souvenirs of a park that are actually for a purpose, other than sitting on a shelf, etc. But before I get into the day-by-day, here's a CoasterCounter Stein I ordered and received from Coastercounter.com a couple of years back. I am a regular, in ordering their milestone t-shirts, through Zazzle. But the stein was unique and it hangs proudly among my other larger mugs on the Big Coffee Cup Rack in the kitchen. Where it hangs out, with the other mugs. (Mainly Disney, but that's later...) That all-important "where made" on the bottom. One side. The other side. The handle.
  14. "Graceland" Paul Simon
  15. ^ If a tour doesn't come through, I know one of the local professional companies would do a great job with it. They did Avenue Q this past summer and it was hilarious! And I saw an excellent tour come through here, AND in the first week of previews in LONDON for it, back in 2006. But "Mormon" will have to wait a bit, I suppose... (^ Hope you enjoy it, when you see it.)
  16. And my coffee cup/mug collection will stay where it is. Great idea with the magnets! (EDIT to add: Couldn't resist. Coffee mug thread started!)
  17. Looks like your tree recently gave birth, Joey... Awwwwwww.
  18. ^ Heh heh, that last photo looks like its a themed setup for a Toboggan ride! One of these, yes? (o;
  19. Just bought a bag of these and tried them. And yes, the home plant is in Scotland! And the taste - eh - not knowing what REAL haggis tastes like - this was sort of tasting like a potatoe, with a bit of moss on it, lol. And no sign of cracked black pepper, anywhere in the taste.
  20. "Trout Fishing". But then they went "overboard" and renamed Scream...
