After watching the first season of Game of Thrones... I have a crush on Jon Snow.

A new Res for myself... I do want to get back to Tokyo Disney Resort as often as I can afford, in time and budget. And although the total time in the new additions and alterations to both parks, will be about 9 years...I can't wait that long darnit!!! So my New Year's Resolution is to visit TDLR in the years 2017, 2020...and finally in 2023, when everything is (supposed to be) finished and in place, woo hoo! That's a nice Resolution I'd say, hmm? (And I think I can keep it too, lol.) Ooo I just cannot wait for Arendelle to materialize! (o: (Thank you Robb for the artwork)

RIP Donna Douglas. I actually got to meet her after The Hillbillies had been over, up here during a convention I went to. Charming woman with a voice you had no idea she had, based on what you knew of Elly May, right? I always want to remember her as TV's first real sex symbol, lol! To heck with Ginger and Mary Ann! Or Anna and Elsa! And before Julie Newmar's Catwoman, too!

The Chinese Theater was the "Castle at the end of (Hollywood) Main Street" in this park, when it first opened. And it was a striking icon to see. The Sorceror's hat was supposed to be temporary, and it wasn't removed when it (probably) should have been. Give the removal a chance, visit the park again, and see a different perspective down that street.

Europapark: Let it snow!
Nrthwnd replied to Orici's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You took some really nice shots, especially ones with plants and some coaster track in them. I would love to be able to go to a park like Europa over the winter time. Even if I didn't ride anything, just strolling around there, would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing your visit there. -

Nrthwnd replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's Shanghai Disneyland for myself. -

^ Just saw this. A really versatile actor. We enjoyed him in "Lost Boys", as one of the best things in that movie. And various appearances in other films and tv shows, etc. He will be missed. And I would have loved to have seen him live onstage in a play.

A Theme Park Coaster Shirt A Day!

^ Coaster, or t-shirt? Happy New Year! -
^ I was wondering that, myself.

Not a resolution here. But interesting to note. Here's how they do New Year's in Denmark... An artsy New Years Jump. That is a lot of crockery to clean up.

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A friend just emailed me a photo of the Playland area, circa 1977. You can see the mountains in the background. The Asteroid entrance, is actually the entry to an observation tower the park used to have, now gone. Same goes for the overhead skyride. Taken out several years ago. The boarded up EAT restaurant is now a White Spot. And what looks to be a FunHouse behind the EAT, is now gone, too. Playland has always had the benefit of your being able to see our mountains on the North Shore, while there. -
So, "Into The Woods" looks like it could be a possible Best Picture Oscar entry,. hmm?

We're starting to watch all the previous seasons of Game of Thrones Gawds help us, every one.

Photo TR: Adventures in Minnesnowta

Very cool to read. I wonder if Galaxyland in Edmonton, Canada does anything like that? -
It's kind of silly to mention it, but Coaster in Playland(PNE) usually runs only one train during it's regular season. In other circumstances, including the annual fair (PNE), it some times runs two trains. I would love to see how it handles three trains at once. And it has that many, I know. Yellow, red, and purple trains. Probably never.

Longest coasters you've been on
Nrthwnd replied to Angle O. Descent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have no idea if The Ultimate in Lightwater Valley Park is really one of the longest coasters, ever... But it sure as heck felt that way, lol. And there's a lot of what I call "country coasters" in Japan, meaning they go on and on and on with no inversions or anything particularly exciting. But that's a big list. The lift hill of The Ultimate. Which goes on and on and on and... (TPR 2010 UK Tour)
