  1. Would he burn the marshmallows, or slow roast them? Because sometimes all you need is a good quick burnt marshmallow!
  2. Not yet, but any day now! Do you watch Criminal Minds?
  3. A friend of mine on Facebook gave me permission to share:
  4. It appears the park has shut down Jambo Junction after the layoffs. How sad, I loved that part of the park. Maybe they will reopen it when staffing gets figured out.
  5. Yes! Pescatarian, to be exact. I'll eat seafood, that's it. Are you done with your holiday shopping?
  6. Yes, but not this year. Do you play this game more during the off-season?
  7. Whoa, this is escalating. I might as well answer the question in question: The Friday before Thanksgiving, a drinking card game ^^I have no idea when I've ever met anyone named Tim. I can think of a musician but I can't remember if I met him. Question: When was the last time you had a song stuck in your head?
  8. Nope. My family never has, and I don't plan to in the future either. I'm not a huge fan because of how lame they look during the day when not inflated. Does your home park put on a Christmas event?
  9. Seaworld is laying off 320 employees today Very sad, and a bit concerning. I know a decent amount of people in the company, from when I worked at Busch Gardens two summers ago. I hope their jobs are safe. Not sure what this means for the company going forward, but doesn't seem good.
  10. No, but goals. Does your life get busier in December?
  11. Last Wednesday, I believe. When was the last time you struggled to carry something heavy?
  12. One eye or two? I think it was about a month ago, in a little nature exhibit at the state park we visited. When was the last time you witnessed a natural disaster?
  13. I was never at the park before, but I didn't think so at all. There was one-train ops when we were there, but it was so quiet that even with one-train, Storm Chaser was just about a walk-on (one cycle or two and then on). The employees were pretty friendly, overall we had a great experience! You know, I've always wanted a park to get a more permanent version of the Zipper, and never understood why no one has (that I know of). They're the best rides at the fair!
  14. Behold! croquet! Yes! I was an English major in undergrad. Do you plan/have you been to grad school?
  15. So the GP will have a rough ride? A Larson Loop isn't exciting to me, but all of the park improvements sound great. My boyfriend just moved to Louisville, so I definitely plan to get a season pass and ride the sh*t out of Storm Chaser this summer. I thought the park was great when I visited it this year, so I'm glad they're continuing to improve it even more! With Storm Chaser and Lightning Run as well as several amazing flats, there is still plenty to bring me back to the park even without a Zacspin or second RMC.
  16. Hmm I'd say Saturday. We ordered Chinese food and were a bit overzealous, but it allowed me some non-Thanksgiving leftovers for last night! When was the last time it rained where you live?
  17. My previous vote went to Vortex at CGA, I despise stand-up coasters and that one was the worst I had been on, by far. Now that it's being converted and I've ridden another unequivocally bad coaster, my vote goes to T3. Even my boyfriend keeps bringing it up as the worst coaster he's ever ridden.
  18. What exactly is Coasterstock? I'm new to this area.
  19. Keep in mind that unlike CF and SF, HFE doesn't have a combination season pass. Owning a season pass for Dollywood or SDC entitles you to 50% off single day tickets to the other park. So get the season pass for the one you'd be more likely to visit more often (I'd guess based on geography that'd be Dollywood for you), and then take advantage of the discount for a special trip. Branson's really building up their attractions recently with the Runaway Mountain Coaster, Fritz's Adventure, Branson Ferris Wheel, and the new winery. I've been highly critical of the town as nothing but go-karts and country music shows, but it's reinventing itself, and I like the direction it's going. Hope to see you out here this summer! Yep, SDC is a 9-10 hour drive from me according to Google, while Dollywood is about a 5 hour drive. So 50% off a one-day ticket is fine with me, because I'd probably only make it to SDC once while I could potentially visit Dollywood more. I'm hoping to hit Dollywood in December this year for my first time, I'd probably try to buy the pass then. Branson...you had me at winery. You've got your priorities straight. Oh hell yes! After visiting both parks for the first time this year, I'm a new convert! Plus, I visited Knoebels on probably the busiest day all year (BOGO opening weekend) and while we did get to do a lot, I'd really like to do more, and stay the night.
  20. Okay I've been debating for some time about this, because I don't truly have "official official" plans, but there are a lot of "If I have the funds and a free weekend, I'll definitely be going there!" type places, so: Definitely: Kings Island Cedar Point Kentucky Kingdom Goals (In order of most likely to "it might possibly happen." Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Every year!) Dollywood Kings Dominion Silver Dollar City Hersheypark Knoebels Holiday World Six Flags St. Louis Six Flags Great America ... Florida parks. I have my Platinum Pass, Six Flags Gold Pass, and I'm planning on getting a Kentucky Kingdom season pass, and potentially a Dollywood/SDC pass. This could be my year for owning the most passes I've ever had! I also still have an unused Hersheypark ticket, and I can't go to PA without visiting Knoebels, so that's all my reasoning for the top placed parks.
  21. I'm pretty sure someone already made one, unless that thread got locked. Edit: Here it is. Knock yourself out.
  22. I love seeing photos of abandoned amusement parks! I would love to visit one someday. Awesome photos of Chippewa, even though they're 6 years old. That's one of the places I've always wanted to see. Does anyone know what is still standing? I never knew about Heritage USA, that was really interesting.
  23. Oh come on. . . You know how it works, pics or it didn't happen! Oh, offseason.
  24. ^Unless you forget to zip, and the coaster is Storm Chaser... Someone needs to tell the fashion industry to make more women's clothing with functional buttons and zippers that still brings all the boys to the yard.
  25. I rode it earlier this year and I thought the ride was very fun, but the shoulder straps were definitely the worst part. I got bruised on one shoulder just after one ride on it.
