Dollywood Discussion Thread
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I enjoyed FireChaser until it took my hood. Apparently, my coat has a zip off hood that isn't coaster friendly. It decided to plop off in the shed, so probably the best place in all of Dollywood to lose an item on a coaster. Got it back pretty easily. Other than that, it was a really great coaster and I would recommend it too! -

We were barely able to snag an 8:30! They sold really quickly. I'm super psyched though, never been! My boyfriend is new to the game and was like, "Why would you want to visit Cedar Point when none of the rides are open?" I'm like: -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With all the tree/vine stuff I'm starting to think the "what" that's in the shed is an actual object/character related to the storyline... i.e. maybe an animatronic tree and some crawling vines and whatnot. Could also apply to the "falling trees" thing that was going on earlier, since the animatronic/effect could be a tree that looks like it's falling onto the coaster. If there is drop track it could be tied in with that. -
Yes! (And is it philsophical to think that this post will likely be my one and only post where the post count matches the year it was posted in, 2017?) Did you visit more than 5 different theme parks this year?

Creepy, Haunted Theme Parks
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to screaminkid2005's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks guys, I didn't find Great Adventure that creepy before but now that I just read all those deaths and ghost stories, I'm going to be a little creeped out next time I'm there at night My aunt who used to work at KI tells me there are some ghost encounters from employees working Beast and the rapids ride late at night. I love this thread, though. Bring on the park ghost/creepy stories! -

You're right, and I commend your efforts to support the pescatarian movement. Yes! I ate at Go Fresh at SFNE and I thought it was very good. SFDK needs one of those. I'm not sure if SFMM has one but they should. What SFMM does have is that awful Six Flags sushi. I tried it once, definitely not the best. I'll admit that Macho Nacho isn't too bad, however, the lines for it are always ridiculously long! I'm pretty sure their salads are just weeds they pulled out of the rocks in the Nitro queue behind the building. -

Question: What time does Winter Chill-Out usually end? Site says tours last up to 5 hours and the latest tour begins at 10:30 but I'm not sure if the 5 hours estimate includes the presentation and lunch. -
Six Flags Food
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to CaptainCrush's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I say this reticently, after the vegan comments, but I am vegetarian (pescatarian, to be exact, but Six Flags doesn't typically have good seafood except maybe the occasional shrimp wonton or something). There really isn't a lot at Six Flags for me to eat, especially SFDK which was my homepark. Greasy cardboard cheese pizza. Really makes me want to pay $80 some odd for a dining pass so that I can eat unlimited cheese pizza. The cheese bread with marinara is good, though. This year, they added a new sandwich place (can't remember the name) that oddly did not have a vegetarian sandwich on the menu! C'mon Six Flags, this is the San Francisco Bay Area, what are you thinking? However, the employees let me concoct my own sandwich and it was very good! The best thing I've ever had at a Six Flags is definitely the Greek pita/gyro/whatever I had at the place at Great Adventure! Also can't remember the name, but I've not seen that at other Six Flags, so I assumed it was unique to great adventure. I also approved of the margaritas sold at the cantina place shared a few pages back. Love me a margarita on a hot day! -
I can answer a few. 2. Unless things have changed, there is a staggered opening, with rides further back in the park opening later than those areas in the front. Someone else should answer this more thoroughly, I just know the answer is yes. 4. Pantopia has a lot of variety and the food isn't too bad. The BBQ by Skeikra is pretty good. Of course, gotta try Twisted Tails pretzels for a snack! I haven't been to the park since the restaurant opened, so someone who has been could speak to that. 5. I love the water rides (see below) and of course.... Falcon's Fury!!! The summer campers (kids about your age) LOVED Phoenix (swinging ship) but I wasn't a fan. However, it was conveniently placed so that adults could sit out and still be there to pick up kids at the exit. 6. I have no idea about adjusted flow, but I can speak from summer experience. Log flume... not too wet. Congo rapids... can get VERY VERY wet!! It is kind of a crap-shoot because you might ride and not get wet (not my experience, but observed). However, I got utterly SOAKED whenever I rode it, so if you don't want that, I'd highly recommend purchasing a poncho and taking every precaution you can! 7. I liked all the shows! Some people hated it but I loved Iceploration (very cheesy but cool) and Opening Night Critters! 9. It is a word filter to represent the thing you put your items in while you are on rides ("1ockers") so if you ever type that word, it will post as "fluffy fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo." Don't forget to do all of the animal stuff you can, especially watch the cheetah run presentation! Feeding the birds and kangaroos is awesome, but if you go later in the day, they may not be as hungry. Have fun, and welcome to the board!

Hasn't for years. I think they stopped using it before or shortly after the conversion I might be biased, but I think I slightly prefer SFDK's version to WT and standard V2 versions. -

Dollywood Discussion Thread
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Late post, but I wanted to share some of our pics from last Saturday. Overall, we had a very pleasant time at the park. The park was beautiful, not *too* cold that day, not very crowded, longest we waited was about 20 minutes for FCE and MM, nothing was down except the obvious, and we enjoyed the Christmas decorations and lights. Oh...I told D we needed to get cinnamon bread, that TPR told us to. He was like, "I like cinnamon rolls." I said you can get some of those too, but we have to get cinnamon BREAD. I talked him into it, we waited in a hella long line with me saying, "Trust TPR, this will be worth it." And oh... it was WELL worth the wait, and Darien thought so too! I know I'll be getting more every time we visit the park, and we have a season pass now, so hopefully that'll be plenty more times next year! Butterflies! Heading to go check the status of you know what, and view the decorations on the way! "Come here often?" So many things to see! Cold, but content I decided to take pictures of every wheel I saw Another wheel! Wheel in a tree! Wheel?? This coaster was one of the best Arrow's I've ever been on! I was pleasantly surprised with how forceful this was! CAW CAW!! I am a wild eagle, so majestic! Charlie needs to get his s**t together! Look at that eagle, so majestic! Turned out it was a pretty boring ride, at least in the 2nd half! Does D look ready to blaze with fury? WHAT IS SANTA DOING?? Lady, I hate to break it to you, but that fireman might have ulterior motives for helping you down the ladder... OOOOO so mysterious! My first real Euro-Fighter, and we both really enjoyed this coaster! The theming and indoor portion really added to the effect, and riding at night in the back row was awesome! You can't see the second drop at all! Rawkin likes to eat some good wood! Obligatory tree selfie Thunderhead blew us away! Our favorite coaster since we couldn't ride....you know what. Probably my new favorite GCI! Move along people, there's nothing to see here! We're here waiting for one of the best food experiences of our lives and all I can focus on is that red tree! Seriously, who strings lights on every branch and every twig of a tree? Every light is perfectly strung Seriously, these lights were impressively straight! Unlike your mom... Look at how beautiful Dollywood is! Barely made it into It's a Wonderful Life but it was so worth the wait! "You want the moon? I'll throw a lasso on it." Money money money money! DON'T JUMP!! Scrubbing the stage clean, or dancing? Even the trees put on a show! I didn't get a picture of the tree playing tetris, but that was cool too Even Mystery Mine got turnt at night! Amuurrrica!! Dollywood getting me into the Christmas spirit since 2016 Seriously, those trees are what got me Who wraps every twig with lights? Literally, EVERY twig! Super impressive! This was in Pigeon Forge on the way to our hotel room. I've never been to this city, but someone please tell me WTF is up with it?? It was one of the craziest places I've ever see! Little kid Las Vegas, that's the best way to describe it!
