Game: When was the last time you...

2010, Goliath at SFMM (I think I rode it when I went in 2010, otherwise the answer would be 2009 with a bunch of East Coast coasters) When was the last time you wrote something just for fun (as in a poem, song, story, essay, or journal)? -

Not finishing your train of... hey did I ever tell you about what my cat did the other day? Well he was bugging me in the computer room when I was on TPR, you know Theme Park Review? I'm a huge coaster nerd and I could go on and on about coaster stuff... what was I talking about again?.... (This pretty much sums up half the conversations in my... whoa, did you see that butterfly over there?) What's worse than being stuck in a room with a bunch of hyper ADHD kids? -

Honestly, I'm going to say 6th grade. In high school and in community college now, my assignments aren't that hard for me, what's more difficult is motivating myself to do them instead of waiting until the last minute (as I'm doing now in still not writing my essay on the Canterbury Tales). When was the last time you watched a documentary? -
I know a bit about the whales that used to be at SFDK before Shouka... Nepo was the last male orca that was at the park. He died before the move to the Vallejo, which means that no male orcas have ever been in the current tank. Here's a little more about him per. wikipedia: Nepo and Yaka starred in the opening scene of the horror movie Orca. I downloaded that movie one time just for that scene, honestly that scene was the best scene of the movie and probably the only scene that used footage of real whales. Yaka died in 1997. Vigga, the other female that performed with Yaka, was slightly smaller than Yaka and had a white scar on her snout. If you ever see old photos of the two of them, it's easy to tell them apart because of that little white scar. Vigga was also featured in a chapter of a book. Here's the book: That's a photo of Yaka and Vigga on the cover; Yaka is jumping over Vigga. I have a few more interesting things about this park pre-Six Flags but I'll wait until later for that...

A Vekoma gets hit with the same earthquake, and suddenly it's really, really smooth. What's worse than running over your own dog with your car? -

I still really regret some stuff I did in 2010. When was the last time you washed your car (or someone else's if you don't own one)? -

The crappy remake gains more popularity than the original, so whenever you reference the original, people think you're referring to the remake. What's worse than retarded posts on Facebook that get wayyy more "likes" than intelligent posts? -

A sparkly werewolf. What's worse than needing to make a phone call and not having cell service? -
I don't see a problem with this. Of course there's going to be unrealistic hopes for the park, but wild speculations are a whole lot more fun than the thought of no additions and/or more ride removals. I think anyone who's hoping for a dramatic new addition understands and is prepared for disappointment, since that's what's been happening with this park lately.

How did you get your screen name?
RAWKIN_coaster38 replied to waterviper's topic in Random, Random, Random
I've had a long history of having screen names/e-mails that I tired of. This one I came up with through trial-and-error of changing e-mails around until I found one I liked. I put a lot of thought into this: rawkin : my favorite band of all time spells "rock" like "rawk" in their lyrics and sometimes calls their fans "rawkers". ALLCAPS of the above: I think I did that to have a more noticeable screen name, this would be the only thing I'd probably change if I could. underscore: It's the best way to separate words in a username, and I don't usually like the ones with several words run together. coaster: obvious reasons 38: 3 and 8 are two of my three favorite numbers. I could give an explanation about why they're my favorite numbers, but that's beside the point. -

Maybe the last time I rode Tatsu (2010, I think), during the pretzel loop. Other than that, I can't think of anything off-hand. When was the last time you were nervous/uneasy about going on a specific coaster for the first time? -

Living in a gang-ridden neighborhood of a big city like NYC and being too afraid to leave your house. What's worse than having a dog or cat that hates you? -
Didn't someone ask about the restriction this year at Bay Area Bash? I swear they answered something like: "The height restriction was a contract the park had with the county way back before the park got any coasters or rides... it could be modified if we drew up a new contract." The way they said it sounded like they *could* make an agreement with the county to have a coaster or ride taller than 150 ft. but that it would probably take some time and paperwork. I.e., 150' isn't an ultimatum. This made me really glad to hear, but I think it would be a long time before SFDK would even consider going taller than 150', and I don't really think they need to. SFMM is the extreme coaster park of California, so anything really big and extreme would probably just go there and not SFDK. Ditto! I've never heard about this before. Maybe some of the kiddie rides? They seemed loathe to have so many.

Whoa, I was totally in the middle of posting the exact same response but you beat me to it! The GP thread being the top-posted thread by the end of 2012. What's worse than having your tongue stuck to a pole? -
It feels far. But maybe because SFDK is my home park and not some place like SFMM that's even more spread out? I know it'd be really far-fetched and probably the last thing on their list of "things to do" right before "BBQ Shouka" and "Tear out Medusa", but it'd still be cool if they found a way to connect those two ends of the park.

All too often. But I'll say before Christmas in the grocery store. This 70+-year-old man that has told people he and I were dating (when I don't even talk to him!) and we saw him in the grocery store and deliberately avoided him... and he deliberately came down our aisle just to walk past us and say, "Merry Christmas". When was the last time you did something stupid in public? -

A park ridden with crazed Twilight fans on a day when the Twilight actors are walking around shirtless. What's worse than Jersey Shore? -
^You're probably right, seeing as it's taken them so long to get a new big coaster and they just got the Sky Screamer, we probably will be seeing more animal attractions or kids attractions (God forbid) in the next few years rather than thrill rides, but it doesn't hurt to hope. They probably shouldn't remove another coaster for a long time, but if they did, I want it to be Boomerang and that space + the iwerks theater would be a great spot for something new. I really think they should tear down the iwerks theater or move it. If the height limit gets smaller closer to the lake, they could put a theater over near the lake, which would add a little flavor to the deadness at the back of the park, and the spot where the theater is now could be freed up for a thrill ride in the future. They probably could figure out a way to have the queue for the ride let out in Oasis Plaza, so we'd have Kong + Medusa + Sky Screamer + this ride all in one place. This is all probably an idealistic perspective on it, but I can file it away in my brain along with the walkway between the Roar/V2/Superman side of the park and Oasis Plaza. Anyone else really hate having to walk so far between the coasters? It would probably be way too cost-ineffective and difficult but I always try to imagine a bridge between the two.
