  1. ^That's super cool that you got to hike up there! I visited Mt. Rushmore with my dad in 2009, and it was kinda disappointing with how far away it was to see. Although we got to see goats in the forest by the path.
  2. ...the Planet of the Apes. At first Robb and Elissa were horrified at the sight of the apes, but then they relaxed when they realized the apes looked like...
  3. ..."Only if you do a special something for me!" The Doc proceeded to whisper his request to Robb, who gasped in horror at the thought. Robb said, "You really want me to...
  4. It lost me too when I was having it. If someone said it, it must be true! A guy totally got brained on the ride!! OMG!!!!!! Probably, I was confused about when she saw this thing and how old it was when she saw it. I was just glad that she wasn't one of those people that insisted she was correct. I guess she can stay my friend.
  5. Conversation yesterday: Friend: Goliath at Magic Mountain is the tallest coaster in the world! I just saw this documentary about it. Me: Uhh... the tallest coaster in the world is in New Jersey. Friend: Really? Well this documentary was a few years old so maybe Goliath was the tallest back then. Me: The Superman coaster at Magic Mountain is a lot taller than Goliath, and older. Friend: Oh...well Goliath is so much fun and it goes completely vertical! Me: Are you sure you're not talking about Superman? Friend: No, Goliath! The one that goes in the tunnel! Other Friend: Space Mountain at Disneyland was closed for 3 years because a really tall guy got decapitated by a support on the ride. Me:?? Friend: Well... I'm not sure if it actually decapitated him, but it hit him in the head and it broke off part of his head and he died. (I looked this up on the off chance that it could be true, turns out it's an urban legend: http://orlandoworld.wordpress.com/2008/03/07/top-10-disney-world-urban-legends/ However, my friend said this was recent and the ride was closed for 3 years, not sure where she got that or the thing that it was a tall guy who got brained.)
  6. ^Was that a lock-in you wanted? Let me know if it wasn’t.
  7. "What a different two weeks makes ... here's the site of the new SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight. It's nothing to look at now, but just you wait!" From SFDK Facebook I'm so stoked to see the work start on S:UF!! Can't wait! EDIT: Yeah, I don't remember it being that rough, although now that you mention the thing about the red loop, I kinda remember that (the red loop was near the station, right?) My brother swears that the entire ride was horrible and rough... stupid GP. Although, in SoCalCoasters' defense, I've heard the thing before about the Texas heat damaging the ride pretty bad, but I thought that it was because it warped the steel a bit, causing more rattling. Either way... poor Zonga, didn't have a chance.
  8. It finally snowed the other day here, then was raining for like 24 hours straight, partly-cloudy yesterday, and snow flurries today! We really needed precipitation because we haven't had any so far (I think the snow pack was <2in.) but I'd much rather have snow than rain!
  9. Not sure, Ive only seen it closed. But, I have heard a lot of people complaining about it being rough. My brother insists that Zonga was really painful for him, but I don't remember it being too bad for me. Maybe because I was a lot shorter back then? I thought Kong was worse rough-ness wise, but Zonga wasn't as exciting as Kong. I think I remember it having really long lines at first, and then people kinda lost interest in it and the lines were more walk-on, but it wasn't the sort of coaster you'd want to ride more than once or twice. I still think it's a really pretty coaster with the blue track and colored loops, and I loved the name (especially how some of the ride-ops said it! Like "Zzzzawwwwn-gah!) One of the best parts for me was the lift hill, since it always seemed like such a skinny little rickety lift hill, it was thrilling. Of course, this was before I really became a coaster nerd, so I automatically liked it just because it was at Marine World, my favorite place since '93. EDIT: My brother says, "It was extremely painful! Horrible and not fun! It banged your head the entire ride. When it was relatively new, it had a really long wait." (He said 2 hour wait, I'm not sure if it was that long). I think it didn't hurt me so bad because I was 12 when I first rode it and I wasn't that tall back then, but the year after that when the lines were just about walk-on, I rode it twice and it did hurt pretty bad.
  10. Ditto! Is that SFDK’s opening + S:UF opening, or just park opening? Have we heard word yet on when the coaster is planned to open? Well, since the park said something like, “Robb will definitely want to come out next year,” before we found out about the coaster, I think the park would let us have ERT for a TPR trip. In the past, Robb and Elissa announced Bay Area Bash about a month or so ahead of time. Last year, they couldn’t make it, but we still had one. I hope we’ll have one this year as well! If either of you are reading this, can you confirm or deny the possibility of a Bay Area Bash for 2012?
  11. I am! If I can. Maybe we can wait in line together? I've never gone opening day for anything, and SFDK is my home park and this is the first major coaster addition since.... like, Zonga (if you even count that, since it wasn't new). I'll just have to figure out something I can do in line to keep myself occupied. Maybe I can ask my brother if I can restart his Pokemon game on the DS?
  12. I was thinking more along the lines of... if they do win, or do really well, they might gain more fans that would come to games, and those fans might be apt to visit CGA. In the least, I'm sure CGA could advertise at the stadium, and that would be great advertising... so I'd think. But as Angry_Gumball pointed out... maybe the football-fan types are not the sorts we would be excited to have at the park. Paint looks great so far! Weren't we just talking about how they really needed new paint-jobs? Maybe the park is listening to us after all! So I am a pretty big football fan myself....does that mean I am not welcome at "YOUR" theme park?? WTF kind of ignorance is that???? Have you ever been to a major sporting event? We do not have any kind of diseases, and are no different than you or the next person down the block. Sorry if that came out wrong... I didn't clarify enough. I didn't mean to insinuate that all football fans shouldn't go to amusement parks, I was referring more to the types Angry_Gumball had mentioned like the angry fans that get violent when their team doesn't win. I'd hate to see people vandalizing the park or stirring up fights because they were mad that the 49ers beat their team, or vice versa. I know that the majority of football fans aren't like that, but if there were enough that did act out, it could cause a lot of problems for the park and make a generally bad atmosphere.
  13. ^^I really like that! I do think the boxes look better than just the text, and I don't see anything else on that I'd change! Really, it looks great.
  14. That is such a cute place! It literally looks like they just had this family farm and added all this stuff to it! Do you know how long it took them to get those rides, and how/where they got them? And namely... where that cute-but-awesome coaster came from? Backyard coaster = awesome!! EDIT: That little coaster probably gets more air than the coasters in California... combined!!
  15. I was more referring to the stationary ones; the ones, I thought, from the original 90s exhibit. Last time I saw them, they were in really bad disrepair, but I think those ones could have been saved if they were moved somewhere better and maybe patched up a bit in the future. I've never gone in this... but doesn't SFMM have a little park history exhibit at the top of that sky-tower thing? SFDK probably trashed the dinos, but they should have saved at least one of the smaller ones for something like that. P.S.... I like your avatar.
  16. Four duckies found me! Locketh in? And now I totally want to visit Roswell. Looks like a hoot! I think NorCal should make a Sasquatch museum to go with the Alien museum!

  18. ILoveRides... looks good except I still don't like the topic bar under the "main" picture. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I prefer this style: Where each topic is a separate box, and the topics span across the entire bottom of the photo. I think it would be easier on the eyes this way. Otherwise, it's great and I'm super excited to see the new main page once it's done!
  19. ^Likes NorCal weed. vHas a relatively stress-free life without the aid of THC.
  20. I haven't been in that building for years, but as it is, I don't think it's big enough. However, the space itself with the outdoor queue where all the dinosaurs were would be big enough. I'm not a huge fan of dark rides, but I think it'd be super cool to have one of those coasters that are partially indoors, partially outdoors with good theming. Speaking of dinosaurs BTW... are all of those long-since trashed, or are they still around in storage somewhere? Also, I was looking on the SFDK Facebook page, and I couldn't find the post with the pic of Pandemonium deconstruction. Do you think they took it off the site because too many GP complaints?
  21. CGA's ride removal program. What's worse than the coffee plant as a whole becoming extinct?
  22. Something I thought of the other day.... How do you think it would affect the park if the 49ers won the Superbowl? I'm kinda clueless when it comes to football, but I guess they won some important game and if they win the next game, they'll be going to Superbowl.
  23. One thing I really like about the 2nd one (Jack's?) is the buttons under the big picture. I like the red highlighting over white for the one that's showing at the moment and the little arrow thing, their boxy look, and I really like how the 6 topic buttons span across the whole page. Question: to see each topic (in either of these designs), would you have to click on each one, or would they be more like the Six Flags pages which change after a certain amount of time, but you could click back whenever you want? Personally, I really prefer the latter. Also, I like how in ILoveRides' design, the big picture/highlighted topic has a header and subheader to tell more about it, but I'm not sure if that greenish-yellow is the right color there. Also, I think the background under the "Newest Updates" should be a solid color and match the Facebook feed.
  24. I noticed that white speck in the Loch Ness queue... but I didn't count it because it didn't look enough like a ducky. The one in the Land of the Dragons pic looks like it might have been a ducky a lot of us missed, but it might not. The rest of the ones posted were the exact ones I identified in my count. I'm really anxious to hear the results on this one!
