Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
cprocks22 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just want to point out that I dont believe that Point Buzz is a fair audience to judge a reaction from...just saying. Also I'll apologize ahead of time for anyone who happens to be going on the 17th because myself and my physics class will me there for M&S week. -
^I always thought going to a rave would be pretty fun, but unfortunately around here all the raves I hear about are pretty druggie filled. O well, theres always college! O and to stay on topic... Me and OMG HOT Lights, I love her .

One more concert lol. For my second concert in less then 1 week (it was a good week to say the least), I saw 3oh!3, Cobra Starship, Travie McCoy and I Fight Dragons at The Filmore Detroit last night. I Fight Dragons was pretty fun, but nothing too mind blowing. Travie McCoy is completely not my genre, but it proves that good stage presence can make an artist. Almost solely because he put on a fantastic show, I really enjoyed him. I was pleasantly surprised. As for Cobra Starship, they were amazing, seriously so much fun. I'm happy to say that during Cobra's set, I was able to successfully crowd surf for the first time, after 1 failed attempt (which which resulted in my elbow and hip being pretty severely bruised...worth it), I made it to the front of the pit. But aside from my fun, Cobra put on an INCREDIBLE set and it was quite possibly the most fun I've had at a concert...until... 3oh!3. Really, I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I saw them last year at Warped and thought they they're pretty fun, nothing to spectacular. This time was totally different. Like Travie McCoy, their stage presence is absolutely fantastic, they're just two giant balls of energy on stage, and it helps. They even sounded good which I didn't expect, and they made the crowd go crazy. Tons of moshing, crowd surfing, and most of all dancing. Their set was just a giant dance party, and totally fun. Highly, HIGHLY recommend seeing them live.

I just realized I never posted a picture of our puppy! We have had two Bernese Mountain Dogs for about 8 years now, and a year ago in January, Amber passed away due to cancer. So after a few months we decided to get a puppy in October (he was born in September). His name is Amos Lee and he's now 8 months old, but I'll just post puppy pictures since thats what everyone wants to see. These are from when he was...i think 9 weeks old. I would think these are cuter if I didn't know what a pian in the butt he is now =P. Last one for now to show how tiny he was. I think he weighs almost 80lbs now and hes 8 months.

^^I left that concert seriously considering proposing to her.

S&S Double Shot- How do they work?
cprocks22 replied to WildStangAlex's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I think he pretty much covered it but on a completely unrelated note, Boiler up! I'm starting there next fall . -
Last Thursday I went to Royal Oak to see Owl City, Lights and Paper Route. My friend and I ended up getting extremely lucky with the whole experience. We got down there around 1-ish and waited around for a while. We had the opportunity for a meet and greet with Lights so we took it and ended up meeting her. She was unbelievably nice, and ridiculously pretty (I'll post a picture). After the meet and greet we got back in line, only to find out our presale tickets got us in first, so we ended up center stage, right against the barrier. The concert itself was fantastic, Paper Route was a real surprise, very nice ambient rock to start off the show. Lights did a fantastic job and we ended up holding hands with her for a second during her set. Owl City didn't disappoint, Adam Young really does put on quite the show and put on an amazing performance. He did a great job of mixing a lot of his older stuff with his newest stuff, which I appreciated. If you like them, I completely recommend seeing them, its just an all around fun concert to go to. My only complaint is of the venue. They were EXTREMELY strict about no pictures or video, at all. After Lights a security guard came up to some girls next to us and deleted all her pictures that she had taken, and threatened to kick her out. A little while later they caught two different guys taking video and threw them out. I'm sorry, but honestly what is the big deal with taking pictures?? Video I can sort of understand for copyright reasons, but whats so bad about taking pictures! I did manage to sneak quite a few while hiding behind my friend and was very lucky though. I dont know what the venue's issue is, but I think the audience should be ALLOWED to take pictures at a concert. And on that note, here are a few pictures . Me with lights, I was almost disgusted by how pretty she is. Lights during her set, you can see how close we were. Owl City . Yes he is wearing an Owl Costume made out of a white hoodie, duct tape and feathers. One of my favorite pictures from the night. Part of his band, he also had a percussionist and a keyboardist on the other side of the stage but I couldn't get a good picture. Another one of my favorite pictures, and my last one.

^Thanks for the info! Thats almost identical to the set up I had for my rabbit, except for the granite block to keep it cool. Thanks again!

^Actually I've loved reading it lol. I've wanted a chinchilla since I was young and hearing that they aren't evil is wonderful! I would seriously consider one for after college as a nice little pet to have. About what size cage do you keep it in? I had a rabbit a few years ago so I'm not worried about maintaining a small-ish cage.

^It is actually 5cm lol, I like doing that instead of my calc homework .

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
cprocks22 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Cause I'm almost completely convinced that Cedar Point and Cedar Fair REALLY don't care that much about their customers, its more about making a profit then anything else. Besides, their hand-stamp system in the past really wasn't a good system...at all. If you WANTED to get that you ended up having to wait an hour or more before they started giving them out just to GET one, then you would have to wait another 2 hours for your time, then another 20 minutes in the "fast" line. It just didn't work. You ended up waiting just as long, if not longer, then you would've normally. -

Favorite Water Ride
cprocks22 replied to SFMM rocks my socks's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I'm gonna have to agree with you. As much of a Disney fanboy I am, Dudley Do Rights is by FAR the best water ride I've been on (sorry Splash Mountain! You're second!). Its just a fantastic ride, nothing else to it. -
^VERY nice tattoo! You're artist did a fabulous job with it! As for me, now that I'm 18 a tattoo seems like a possibility so I'm trying to come up with something I could get. I really like chinese symbols, but I cant help but feel like its kind of a tool-ish thing to get. Despite this, I'm pretty certain on either getting the symbol for Happiness or Courage. As for location, either my chest over my heart or on my shoulder. Any thoughts?

^Yeah, I know that feeling . I'm not saying that there aren't any good parts to high school, I had a lot of fun times and made tons of wonderful friends that I will incredibly miss when we all go away to college. That said...there are a lot of idiots in high school, and a lot of people I will be GLAD to leave behind. Moral of the story, enjoy high school, have fun, don't be dumb .

Gets to visit Purdue again tomorrow, super excited! I cannot WAIT until college, I'm pretty through with high school.

That to me is reason enough to see Transformers 3. Absolutely LOVE that car.

What are your "firsts" of 2010?
cprocks22 replied to Pingu1651's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First Park: Most likely Cedar Point First Ride: Raptor/Millennium First New Park: Hopefully SFGAd First New Credit: If the above happens, most likely El Toro. One of my goals for 2010 is to get on my first slingshot, I think i've finally worked up the nerve even after having been repeatedly told its really not that bad . -
Just got home from Muse at the Palace. I cannot begin to describe how fantastic the concert was, if you at all like them and have the opportunity, GO SEE THEM LIVE. They put on by FAR the best show I've ever seen and easily were one of the best sounding bands live. Since I dont have any more words to describe it, heres a couple pictures, sorry a few were so blurry. Our view, for being so high up we could see everything. Silversun Pickups opened up, they sounded good but I almost feel bad for how overshadowed they seemed. Very cool stage set-up, the bottom half of the "skyscrapers" raised and lowered and the band started out there. Last picture, by far my favorite picture taken that night. ALL of the visuals were beyond fantastic.
