One of my goals for 2010 is to get on my first slingshot, I think i've finally worked up the nerve even after having been repeatedly told its really not that bad .

Just got home from Muse at the Palace. I cannot begin to describe how fantastic the concert was, if you at all like them and have the opportunity, GO SEE THEM LIVE. They put on by FAR the best show I've ever seen and easily were one of the best sounding bands live. Since I dont have any more words to describe it, heres a couple pictures, sorry a few were so blurry. Our view, for being so high up we could see everything. Silversun Pickups opened up, they sounded good but I almost feel bad for how overshadowed they seemed. Very cool stage set-up, the bottom half of the "skyscrapers" raised and lowered and the band started out there. Last picture, by far my favorite picture taken that night. ALL of the visuals were beyond fantastic.

I think this goes along with alcohol again (the comparison seems to be made a lot). Alcohol can affect people in a severely negative way, you just have to know what type of person you are, and a lot of it is based on genetics. I know for a fact that I have multiple family members that were at one time alcoholics so I don't plan on getting drunk anytime soon cause I have the risk of becoming an alcoholic as well. Same goes for pot. For some people, it may have a long term negative affect, for others it could do nothing. It all depends on the person and their genetics.

^^^ & ^^^^ I guess I'm drawn to all the super sports cars from an engineering standpoint more then anything else. I am that much of a nerd that I can appreciate everything they can do on a mechanical scale. Sure they're flashy and a little (or a lot in the case of the Lamborghini's) ostentatious, but what they can do is incredible. Kevin "Proud Nerd" M.

I did in fact see Unicorn Kid. He was AWESOME. His set was quite possibly one of the funnest times I've ever had at a concert. I give him huge props.

I'm going to see NeverShoutNever in a little bit at St Andrews in Detroit! I'll edit this post later and post some pictures, should be a pretty awesome concert.

I would consider signing up for this for a few reasons. One, its not ACE, and I'm sure the people are generally much cooler. Second, since I'll be 18 pretty soon and hopefully will be able to go one some trips in the future, this could be worthwhile.

I just remembered something I wanted to add. One huge concern I have if Marijuana does become legal, is the production of it getting picked up by the tobacco companies. I would be extremely concerned that they would do the same thing they did with cigarettes and make them more addictive by adding numerous toxic chemicals and nicotine. However, I do believe that a vast majority of people would stop this from happening, at least I hope.

^^ What ^ said. Besides, in some places its almost legal anyway. I know that in Ann Arbor Michigan its a $25 fine (equivalent to a parking violation) for possession, however I'm not positive on the amount. From what I can tell it doesn't matter about the amount as long as you aren't selling.

I'm just gonna throw in my $0.02 before I go to bed. As a high school student, I'm exposed to pot...almost every day by someone at school. Saying this, I would MUCH rather have someone high on pot then drunk in my class, much less annoying overall. I am completely for pot being legalized, as I really don't see it as too harmful (IN MODERATION). I have plenty of friends that used to or do smoke pot and their lives really aren't screwed up. Almost all of them get good grades, try hard in school, and live normal lives. On the argument about it being addicting heres what I think. While I believe that the substance itself is not addictive (less addicting than caffeine in my opinion), there is a mental part to it that is addictive (as others in this thread have said before). Just as you can get addicted to the feeling of getting drunk, you can get addicted to the feeling of being high. If you can drink responsibly then I believe you should be able to smoke pot responsibly as well. Legalizing pot (in the same way that tobacco and alcohol have been legalized) could be good for people that need it for medical reasons, economical reasons, and other things. EDIT: I should say that I have never done any form of any drug, including alcohol.
