I spent countless summers at this park as a kid. Went back in June after 20 years of living in Dallas. Had to check out I-305 . Anyways, I have so many vivid memories at this park. Checking out YouTube I found an awesome video compliation of old school KD. Haunted River, Smurf Mountain, old KD commercials. I don't know if anyone else has seen them, but thought I would share it with yall. I beleive there are 4 videos by this guy that are all KD footage new and old. Be sure to check out the others!! Enjoy.

^^ I know Smurf Mountians train used to peek out a tad on the side of the mountain before it ended at the station. Looks like where they had the tracks layed. ^ Yep, Time Shaft, I remember the rocky walled queue that snaked through the mountain into the ride was lined with chewed bubble gum. My friends and I would never lean against it!! Yuck! -

^^ Haunted River was really neat. It used to be a favorite of mine in the park. I can still remember that musty rocky type smell when we first entered the mountain. LOL. The drop of at the end of the ride was great!! I remember this was make out central on the boats cuz it was so dark. Should have really been the tunnel of love! Anyways..great pics, oh the memories!! Just went back to KD in June, I hadn't been back since they were contructing Anaconda. So much of course had changed, but I was still nice to be back there again! Thanks for sharing. -
I just thought this was interesting little piece that popped up on SFoT Facebook page this morning, Its part of a Six Flags blog..Just a little bit from the man who has taken care of The Giant since its existence..It shows how much he really loves and enjoys his job..enjoy.. I’ve seen the sunrise more times than I can recall from one hundred feet off the ground. It’s that hour before dawn that’s the perfect time to start my daily climb on the Texas Giant. I make sure to always stop for a moment to watch the big red ball rise above Dallas. The Giant is still asleep, but I’ve come, with my coworkers, to wake her up. For those of you who don’t know, The Texas Giant is a legendary wooden rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Texas. The track resembles a coiled snake perched one hundred feet above the ground on wood legs. It has terrified the timid and scared the pants off the brave ever since it opened in 1990. Once it drops you off of the 150-foot lift, the white, hot, adrenaline won’t stop pumping thru your veins until the train screams back into the station. Some people cheer, some people cry. Armed with climbing harnesses and a 30-pound tool pouch, we make our assault every operating morning. After nineteen years there’s only me and one other man that has stepped out on that ride on its opening day. My job has never been easy but it’s also never been dull. Maintaining the Giant has been a thrill of its own. I could write a book about the cast of characters I’ve spent so many midnight hours alongside. I could tell stories of the pilots, doctors, lawyers and such that have met me and exclaimed: “You work on the Texas Giant?!” I’ve also played guitar and sang for the past 20 years, kind of like an out-of-control hobby. After recording four CDs and once opening for the famed Willie Nelson, I can’t help but think back to a radio interview I did on the island of Guam (half way around the world from Texas.) I had been flown there to play for the grand opening of a new 30 million dollar aquarium/restaurant/club. During the interview the DJ opened the line for callers and the first caller asked me “Wow, do you really work on the Texas Giant?” I’ve always been proud to work on The Giant, and proud of the work that I’ve accomplished. The Texas Giant is now closed, undergoing major changes that will transform it into an altogether new ride to open in 2011. I’ll be there for the grand reopening, not just to celebrate, but to do my job. There’s no other work like it and I want to see the sun come up on another day of pure excitement. My name is Brian Houser and I’m a carpenter at Six Flags Over Texas. Took this Sunday on my way back from Rangers ballpark..I like this angle, it really shows the degree of drop on this thing! I have to say, I am really getting excited!!

Most disturbing movie you've ever seen?
cedarpointfangirl replied to Sasquatch's topic in Random, Random, Random
^ Ya I hadn't seen that original LHotL either, but the remake still creeps me out. The rape scene was just nauseating. Now that its coming on the movie channels and I see it I have to turn to another channel until that parts over. -
Doing great and feeling great the first part of the day, then near the end of work had to deal with some stuff that really caught me off guard. I hate production!!!!! I'll be glad when I can finish school and hopefully move on! Then to top it all off I watch my fave MLB team fall to the freaking Orioles...grrr...your supposed to beat sub 500 teams, crappy ass Frankie Francrappo and Justin Smoak who couldn't hit a ball if it was stopped in mid-air!! Is it to much to ask to have a productive first baseman??? OK..that is all!! Maybe I should put this in the rant thread!! LOL!!!

People Watching Thread!
cedarpointfangirl replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Random, Random, Random
Go to Wal-Mart and people watch!! Thats REALLY entertaining!! OMG, that will definitely leave you thinking.....ug, what in the hell are people thinking when they come out of their house looking this way. Caution: it can also make you want to pour battery acid in your eyes, it might be less painful!!! http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ -
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! This is something that truly fascinates me. I think this is the place that they had on one of this last seasons "Paranormal State" episodes. I remember Ryan Buell had gone back of to the area where the Pentagram was. He was trying to confront something that had truly terrified him from a past visit, or haunted him since he was a kid. Have yall ever done an investigation on the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. ? Again, thanks for sharing!

Theme Park Review: The Magazine
cedarpointfangirl replied to Mechanic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have to agree! Everyone did a wonderful job. I love the puzzles and such, what a great touch. I took a great deal of time to get thru it also, and I'm sure I will pop it back in later when I get more time to re-visit, I just want to make sure I didn't overlook anything! Amazing job guys!! Wow!! Thanks a bunch!! -
My mom and I made a quick weekend trip back to VA last weekend. KD was my homepark back 20 years ago. I loved I305. I'm sure that it was more instense without the trims, but the first drop was still and amazing one. I have no complaints about it. Got some great airtime, especially in the back seat. The front seat I didn't get as much, but wow, whatta a view from the front. Overall, I would have to stick I305 in my top ten.
