  1. ^At least I'm not the only one who eats sandwiches without anything but condiments on them! I eat ketchup sandwiches, chips that have been dipped in the red Heinz substance, ketchup-only hamburgers, etc. Oh, and plain pasta RULES! I hope you all had fun at Idlewild! ^^ I can't wait for the DVD. I think it would be great if you use some Shins or Postal Service on this one, but I digress.
  2. I voted for Kennywood Corp., but I haven't been to most of the other chains. I've been to parks owned by HERCO, Kennywood Corp, and a whole bunch of self-owned parks. AS for Kennywood Corp.,They: Own my home parks Have nice staff AMAZING FRENCH FRIES! Have Good and rare rides Nice and Small parks, not too large to walk around TREES!!! I've never been to Lake Compounce, or Sandcastle, but I hope to soon. As a matter of fact I'm going to Kennywood TOMORROW! I'll ask if I can post a photo TR, but I highly doubt it. Oh, and to whoever said Kennywood needs a Beemer, I agree. But Where would they put it?
  3. There's a gum tree (A live, breathing tree!) in the line for the Wild Mouse at Idlewild. Anybody see it?
  4. The music for the Beech Bend POV's on CE 10 is "Diddley-Dee" by THE CARTOONS.
  5. "except skydiver which I have never seen anywhere else before." Lakemont Park in Altoona, PA has one of those!
  6. Yeah..... I feel really stupid now! But, anyway, you guys REALLY shoud get a ride on the Caterpillar. It's so much fun! (And rare, too!)
  7. I have some tips for August 6th: First of all, I think that you guys are CRAZY for trying to attempt Idlewild, Lakemont, and DelGrosso's in one day! You'll spend more time on the bus than in the parks. Idlewild is in Ligonier, a 41 minute drive from my house. DelGrosso's and Lakemont are in Altoona, about an hour away from my house. That's an hour and 45 miute drive in between parks. I would do DelGrosso's and Lakemont in one day, and Idlewild in one day. (In fact I just got back from Idlewild a little bit ago!) But, each to his (or her) own! Now seeing you have limited time at Idlewild, I recommend hitting RolloCoaster, Wild Mouse and the Caterpillar. You might be attracted to the flyers, but the Caterpillar is more rare and worth your time. (See a Picture Here: http://www.ridezone.com/rides/caterpillar/cat020.jpg) You spin around for awhile, and then the canopy covers you and there's a fan that blows on you from below. I haven't been to the other two parks in a while, but here's my best bet. For Lakemont, get the credits, and maybe one of the flats if you have time. Maybe this: http://www.joyrides.com/lakemont/photos/skydiver.jpg I think for the kiddie coaster, you have to be under 12 or have a kid. (I have the credit. It's the one that made me a CW. I plan on getting the only credit I missed at Kennywood soon) Now i havent been to DelGrosso's since they took the Zyklon out, and that was when, in 2003? So i have no idea what to do! If you have ERT, completely ignore my post. I just realized that . (If you see a person that's not part of your group at Idlewild in a CE 10 shirt, it's me![That's not a guarentee, though])
  8. This HAS to be my favorite picture I've Taken: Wildcat at HersheyPark
  9. Is that a BANKED LIFT HILL I see? Yes, it is! When this Vekoma Mouse opened at Wiener Prater, it had a spinning tube around the lift hill. That, plus the tilted lift hill, means that when you rode it, it felt as if you were going upside down. (I think! )
  10. I think the wild mouse at my home park is deserving of a mention here. Photo from: RCDB.com EDIT: 50th post!
  11. I think that the new front page is an imporovement on the older one. I had the same feeling to click on the pictures, instead of the titles. YAY! Now you can! The white borders make the articles and pictures stand out more than before. I've tried some semi-obscure parks (like Ratanga Junction) in the search and actually found them on TPR. I think this now gives me reason to type in "www.themeparkreview.com" in my browser in stad of "..../forum" or"...../store"like I used to do. I like the new home page. I like it alot. Oh, Robb, you still need to fix the uneven nuber of updates!
  12. You answered your own question, but don't even know it. Vekoma's SLCs are Susepended Looping Coaters, because they actually are the same as suspended coasters, only they have those pistons in place to keep the car fairly in place. But the car is free to move side to side somewhat. (that is a major reason why SLCs produce head banging). B&M/Intamin inverted coasters have the train physically locked to the track, producing a much smoother ride with no side to side motion. I think B&M/Intamin have a patent preventing companies like Vekoma from going fully inverted. Though that could be a bit of an urban legend. Also, "Suspended Looping Coaster" is Vekoma's "Official" term for the models:SLC
  13. Trailblazer at HP on 5-31-08 (soon to change tomorrow at Idlewild)
  14. Could someone please do an iPod version of this, as when i do the "Convert Segment for iPod/iPhone" on iTunes it somes out with no sound. Please?
  15. Hey all of you! i just got back from my trip tonight and am glad to give you a (non-photo) TR! As soon as we got to Pennsylvania, it started raining. By the time we got to Hershey, it slowed down. It was then announced we had to go to the outlets until 12:00! That dashed my hopes of reaching 25 credits today, so I bumped it down to 20 and had to remove Fahrenheit from my itinerary. At about 12:30, we entered the park. I found my friends and we headed over to Comet Hollow. CREDIT #16 (First Looping Coaster) SDL. A-. Doesn't get an A since the wait was nearly a HALF HOUR LONG! Got a middle seat. My friends and I All agreed that it was worth it, since of the postitive G's pulled on the loop. We then headed over to Minetown to hit up the Great Bear, but the line was HUGE, so we rode the Flying Falcon. I'd give that a C+. We then headed over to Midway America. CREDIT #17 Wildcat. A- Sweet drop, but it gave me a slight headache when I got off. Got the seat behind the front. CREDIT #18 Lightning Racer. A. We lost, but the ride was AMAZING! Got back seat on the Thunder train. Airtime and laterals galore! A must ride at Hershey. I need to change my sig, I know! Now we headed over to Pioneer Frontieer. Credit #19 Sidewinder. D+. ROUGH, ROUGH ROUGH! Couldn't get the Vekoma Seat! Credit #20 : Trailblazer. B. BORING! I wanted to ride The Great Bear. but I Didn't have time! I really enjoyed my day and need to come back soon!
  16. ^Man, that' sweet! I just discovered them a few months ago and already, they're my favorite band! Split Needles (Alternate Version)-The Shins (Off of the "Phantom Limb" Single)
  17. Hold on, did they steal the ride from Idlewild? That's the exact same ride as from Idlewild! Hay, at least I'll get to ride it once this year, be it a Idlewld or Hershey.
  18. First 4-D coaster: X(2) at SFMM. First Floorless Coaster: Medusa at SFGAdv
