My school starts on the 29th and ends May 30, but with snow days it'll probably go into June. Sophomore Year Schedule: 1. Algebra II (H/G) 2. English 10 (H/G) 3. Earth and Environmental Science (H/G) 4. Chemistry (H/G) 5. US History I - AP 6. Agile Robotics (Still not sure about this, got put in it because Jazz Band wouldn't work) 7. Band 8. French II Pretty pumped. I'm about 99.9% sure I'm gonna eat second lunch (After 5th period). Same teacher for Algebra and Chem which might be kinda strange. What's gonna suck though is, your locke r is by your 8th period class at my school, and I have French, in the A Wing. I don't have a class there until 7th period. We do have 5 minutes between periods though. Guess I'm gonna be getting a workout this year...

I was laying down on my couch, watching Seconds From Disaster and I feel the couch start shaking, like something was underneath it and moving around. The thought of "EARTHQUAKE!!" never entered my mind, until about 10 or 15 minutes later my mom calls me on one phone and my grandmother on another, since they were both at work. That's how I found out it was an earthquake. Check one thing of the Bucket List.... At least marching band was cancelled and moved to today.

Photo TR: The Roman Empire Tour
Across_the_Universe replied to superman2's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
My brother is studying abroad in Rome for the fall semester and our family is planning to visit during the week of Thanksgiving. I'm really excited, as it'll be my first time out of the US and it's to a place that I've wanted to visit forever. Although none of the parks will be open, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a fantastic time; there's plenty of other stuff to do. Anyway, your Photo TR has just made me about 100,000,000 times more excited! -

Casey Anthony found Not Guilty
Across_the_Universe replied to megamatt's topic in Random, Random, Random
People's reaction to this just shows how much media biases the general population. People like Nancy Grace that state she's guilty as if she herself saw Casey killing her daughter do little more than create propaganda for the prosecution. This case, at minimum, proves that the justice system DOES work. The prosecution was unable to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt; thus, the jury found her not guilty. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Everybody is given the right to a free trial and is innocent until proven guilty. And, once she is found not guilty; in the eyes of the law, she didn't do it. No matter if she actually did do it, she can never be tried again for this crime. Now, what do you think she'll get for the one charge she was found guilty of? Personally, I think she'll get off with time served. She has been in prison for 3 years, after all. -
Oh dearest, mystical, magical, wonderful Title Fairy! Is it such that I may be granted a custom title? If so, and if it is such that I may request one, may it be "TPR's resident band geek!"? Thank you, Title Fairy!

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
Across_the_Universe replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Well I'd better get a ride in on Pitt Fall when I go for my marching band this August. I never rode a drop tower before, mainly because I had no desire to until last year with band. It was right after the parade and some of my friends and I rushed to Pitt Fall to get a night ride, but then it started raining and lightning was flashing across the sky, so we decided against riding. -

Faded Paper Figures-"North by North" -
I went to Teen Open Mic night at my local Under-21 club/Performing Arts center last night with some of my friends. After the normal acoustic acts, a band always sets up (normally the headlining act). Last night it was my friends' Pop/punk band, One Pump Chump.(and yes I do know what that means) They're actually quite good. It features two brothers on Vocals/Guitar and drums and my friend on Synth. (He has a keytar, so he normally plays bass or piano parts. Another of my friends, who is basically acting as their manager, was handing out CD's and taking orders on shirts. Needless to say, I got both. Another thing, they're actually competing on Battle of the Bands for a spot on the Warped Tour, so you should check them out and if you like, perhaps even vote for them: http://www.battleofthebands.com/u/OnePumpChump I think you'll like them. All six of the songs posted there are originals. (They also do covers) My favorites are "Interstellar Bus" and "I Bought the Gun." The latter has some deep lyrical content and is quite dark. "Not Even Gonna Try" has some nice examples of counterpoint, as well.

Photo TR - Foodloop at Europapark
Across_the_Universe replied to filipv's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This has to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen! I MUST get to Europa Park sometime and try this! But, like someone said above me, wouldn't the Coke have to settle a bit after the trip along the track before opening so it doesn't, well, explode? Still, this is TOO cool! -
^I agree. Not that anybody knows with 100% certainty that this would've failed it it had opened, but most of us can concur that it had higher chances of failing than succeeding. If it did fail, who knows what would happen to the coasters that were left there? I guess left to sit there like Hard Rock Park's. Oh, well. Not loosing too much with this park anyway.

Six Flags raises parking fees.
Across_the_Universe replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While parking prices can be rather high, I'd have to say it's worth it. However, since I never have to pay parking, I never thought about it until now. Some of these posts have made a lot of sense, like when they say that if parking was free and they jacked up prices, people would still complain about it. People will never be happy; never be satisfied; always wanting more. -

Whats Shoes do you wear?
Across_the_Universe replied to IwantRevenge's topic in Random, Random, Random
I currently wear khaki American Eagle flip-flops most of the time, but whenever I must wear tennis shoes I wear blue & red Polo shoes, and I have black and silver Nikes for Marching Band rehearsals. I also have black and brown dress shoes but only wear them when I have to. -
I'll have to agree on what everyone says about Diet Coke and Pepsi. I prefer Coke products over Pepsi products any day. Pepsi just tastes odd. Coke Zero is still the best, though! Although, I'm not the person who goes grocery shopping, so I have to drink what my mother buys, which is normally what is on sale. It's been Coke for the last few times though, so I'm good.
