What kind of phone do you have?
Across_the_Universe replied to ECZenith's topic in Random, Random, Random
LG enV touch. I hate it. It shuts off too much, and randomly resets all the personal settings, like the wallpapers and stuff. I mean, when it works, it's cool, and you can go online and stuff, but the touchscreen isn't all that great. It's fine for texting but doing pretty much anything else MURDERS the battery. Everytime I go online with it it drops a battery bar. I got it for Christmas in 2009, so hopefully this year I'll be getting a VZW iPhone! A picture of my phone. Not mine, but you get the idea! -
I've had this wallpaper for quite a while now. I don't know when I'm going to change it. The children from the animation for "Dirty Harry" by Gorillaz for their most recent tour (I think)

OMG this site is so funny! I've noticed this when using my iPod touch. I guess I better watch my spelling when I get an iPhone (hopefully) for Christmas this year. (VERIZON iPHONE FTW!)

TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index

Thanks for responding. I was just curious as to what would be available for the system. I assumed it would be sometime in the future, but thanks for the confirmation. -
TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index

I really like this idea too. I do have a question though. Will you be able to rate coasters as well as individual parks, or just the latter? -
Historic automobile coaster?
Across_the_Universe replied to WFChris's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That thing looks AWESOME!! I really would like to know what happened to this, or if it could ever be constructed today. -
It really is a horrible shame seeing a coaster just sitting in a field rotting away. Just do something with it already. Scrap it, sell it, even put it up as a model for God's sake. Having never really traveled to ride coasters, I've never experienced this ride and it doesn't look like I ever will. Although, from what I hear, I'm not missing much.

Best Drops....
Across_the_Universe replied to BiCoastal Kid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I did like the drop of Griffon when I rode it. Too bad the ride was pretty much over after that. The drop into the ravine that Phantom's Revenge has gets me every time! Same with the double-down on Jack Rabbit. Apollo's Chariot wasn't lacking in the drop department either. This way sound odd, but when you drop to go through the course of a Boomerang backwards. I actually rode the one in Wildwood a few times; it was much smoother than the one at Hersheypark. -
Well aren't I lucky? I get to choose between the only Vekoma mouse and a classic, but still kinda boring, woodie. I guess Rollo Coaster is better, since I'm not really a fan of mouse-type rides. Although after my epxerience with Idlewild this summer, I may not be going as often as we used to. I hope we start going to Kennywood instead. It's only a bit further away and only $5 more expensive, and has more stuff for a 15-year old to do.

^Here ya go! I only took one shot containing everything. There was a mint, a pen (which was the best thing in the whole envelope), and 4 park maps: Grona Lund Hokkaido Greenland Maruyama KidLand Djurs Sommerland When we got home from my competition, my mother got the mail and she was like, "Did you get a Bag-O-Crap?" I was so excited and was moreso when I opened it and saw maps of 2 obscure Japanese parks in there. I need to save up for a TPR trip. I want to go to Europe! My first Bag-O-Crap! I'm so excited!

I've been playing Alan Wake a lot recently. I'm on the DLC episode, "The Signal" it seems a lot more difficult than the full game was. I might go back into the full game to try and get more coffee thermoses and manuscript pages.

Marching band, anyone?
Across_the_Universe replied to FitchCoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
^Silver euphonium. I'm currently using all school-owned instruments, but I'm definitely going to get my own trombone soon, -
Marching band, anyone?
Across_the_Universe replied to FitchCoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
I'm really sorry to bump a year old thread, but I was about to make a thread like this and searched to make sure no one else did. I wasn't sure whether to bump this thread or make a new one. Anyway, this year will be my third in marching band and last year was my first in indoor percussion (this year will be my second when it starts). I played trombone for my first two years. The second year (my 8th grade year), we started competing after a long time of not doing so, since my 7th grade year a new band director got hired. We made Atlantic Coast Championships the year we started competing, for the first time in 15 years! I started doubling on baritone this year, as it's a much prettier sound and it's easier to march with than a trombone. (Trust me, it is) I'm really excited for this season, as the show is REALLY AWESOME! Our show was written in Sibelius and you can hear the mp3 file of the show here: It's a few songs with "Blue" in the title/Blue versions of the song being played and mixed together. The opening four bars is a duet between trumpet and baritone (<--ME!!!!) Anyway, I've been told I'm playing euphonium in concert band this year, and trombone in Jazz. At least there's a nice silver one to use.... -
Ptr:Morey's Piers/Wildwood
Across_the_Universe replied to CoasterPrince's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never actually rode it. That was the last picture I took in WIldwood. It was on the last day, and my mother and I (who was a chaperone) were wandering around the boardwalk early morning and I noticed how pretty it was and took a picture. I don't think anything was even open at the time that picture was taken. That day the percussion didn't actually do any shows, it was Sunday and that was finals day for the high school Colorguard. They got 3rd place in their class (Scholastic A Guard) The percussion got 6th (in Scholastic Novice Percussion), and the middle school color guard got 4th (in Scholastic Middle School Guard). Our shows are on YouTube, not the Wildwood ones though. I'd post the links to them, but I don't want to hijack this thread. The ending of our 2010 show. (Yes, it is "Canon." As in Pachelbel) The props moved around and each letter moved around by itself as there was a different "Variation of CANON." I'm the leftmost person in the front ensemble (pit). -
Ptr:Morey's Piers/Wildwood
Across_the_Universe replied to CoasterPrince's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was in Wildwood earlier this year for Indoor Percussion championships. It was Late April/Early May, and the only Pier that was open was the one with the Boomerang. We didn't get too much time to ride, but every night we had until 11 to be out and we hung out there until it closed at 10 and headed back. When we were in line for Sea Serpent, my friend (who is a girl) was being asked personal questions by a drunk and/or high guy. It was really creepy.... But we had a lot of fun! The only picture I got involving the rides. If I'd have gotten more I would've done a PTR. -
Phot TR: The road to East Coast Bash.
Across_the_Universe replied to thrillrider's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I really wished I could've gone to ECB. But I was at Kennywood the day before that with the High School Marching Band, and we got home at like 12 Sunday morning, and since ECB meet-us was like at 8, that meant we would've hadto've left at 2 AM. Not a good idea! Oh, PA roads do suck. US 22 is like perpetually under construction, and it's the main way to get from Johnstown to Pittsburgh. Oh, and one of the roads in my town, a major one at that, is getting it's turn widened, so a normally 4-lane road in now a 2-lane road. It's the main way to get to the high school from where I live. Bus rides are gonna be so much fun. It sucks. -
I haven't been to too many this year, but here's my list, as of 8/23/10 (In chronological order) Morey's Piers (Only the pier with the Boomerang was open when I was there for indoor perc. championships, though) Busch Gardens Europe Kennywood (2x) Idlewild I don't know if this will be updated at all from now till 2011!

Wild Mouse
Across_the_Universe replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not the best with spinning rides, but I'll ride them to get the credit. I prefer the regular mice coasters, mainly because I can ride those over and over again, with me only being able to ride spinning mice once a day.
