A Corksrew question..
KDCOASTERFAN replied to KingRCT3's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't be bagging on it if they'd fix Dominator's 2nd half....now Afterburn's wingover was enjoyable but then again what part of that ride isn't? -

I'd like to see one of those spinners along the lines of those found in the SF chain,it'd be a nice compliment to Ricochet which is 10 years old now. -

Funny how KD never updated their sign for their 30th anniversary in 2005,they'll probably do so in 2015. -

419-foot Strata Coaster. Can't be taller than TTD now You sure it won't be 457 feet? Gotta reclaim that title from that other chain... With Kinzel that might've been a possibility but with the new guy in charge I highly doubt it.I see waterpark additions or family rides coming next season with a possible coaster coming again in 2014 at the earliest. -

We should get some great views of KD's coasters on their version as well. -
A Corksrew question..
KDCOASTERFAN replied to KingRCT3's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Forsome reason I'm finding the flat spins on Dominator to be among the roughest parts of the ride lately,my guess is that KD isn't doing much to maintain the whhels or their spacing in recent years.Anaconda on the otherhand takes it's corckscrews so slowly that it's painful because you're being thrown around in the restraint a bit too much. -

So far no pics have surfaced but relax, the park opens in about three weeks so you'll get a chance to see it in person. -

I've got a couple shots of Mind Eraser's panel at SFA from a few years back,I'll have to dig them up,then snap shots with my cell & upload them. -

How'd you get these when most B&M's have an enclosed control booth? Keep them coming if you have anymore to share. -
^I guess business must've fallen off drastically at the park in the four, going on five seasons since I last visited.I'm hoping that in a couple of year's time the park might actually redeem itself from the previous two corporate management teams enough to warrant revisiting but they still have a long way to go.

I'm not so sure I'd agree with the earlier assesment, during the years I went to the parkbetween 01 & 07 all fastlane/flasspass rides were busy with a constant influx of riders waiting at the exit to board on each cycle,it got so bad at ROS that in 07(my last year as a passholder there) the ride ops were instructed to allow only one train to be used by non flasspass users with the other reserved strictly for flashpass users. The op on controls would announce to geusts that they would not be allowed to board the reserved train & if nobody showed up with flashpass for that cycle then the train was dispatched completely empty...that was just one more reason why I stopped going to the park with the no loose items policy on ROS & WO as well as the constant lack of new rides being added to the ride side of the park being the other major factors.

Ohh yeah!!! I so plan to be there on april 7th for opening weekend. -
Yeah, you can see WO'sapproach to the helix in the backgroundwith the station being hidden by the foodstand in the righthand corner of the screenso when the scenestarts she appears to be facing toward TOD. As for the supports I kinda think they'll hold off on painting them till after construction is finished or maybe just leave them red to fit the doomsday theme of the ride.

Volcano at KD?
KDCOASTERFAN replied to CoasterT98's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I305's line moves much faster than volcano's does....that's why the park needs a B&M invert to replace it or at least compliment it. -

Talk about a major brain freeze, during haunt at night I'm usually so cold from riding(even with a jacket & gloves on) that I could only go for about two laps before calling it quits. -
Hopi Hari Theme Park 2011 - Brazil
KDCOASTERFAN replied to Lucas.Almeida's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just that end seat had the clearance issue. Hopi Hari usually do not operate all 5 sections. Normally they keep section 1 stoped up at the top of the tower. Don't really know why... Usually SFA kept car #2 stopped at the bottom with the carrier at the top. Looking at the video it appears that the locks on that particular harness were completely removed/disabled as it shouldn't be freely moving like that even when the car is at ground level ready for the next group of riders...with that in mind the victim in this case should've known something wasn't right the minute she sat down & attempted to pull down & lock the restraint.I would've simply gotten out of the seat & alerted the ops to the fact that the restraint didn't appear to be locking at all. -

KDCOASTERFAN replied to Lucas.Almeida's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is possible to disable the car from running if there's a problem....SFA has done this for years on their tower with the middle car not running at all while the other two were.Another thing that they could've done was simply remove the harness from that seat, surely doing that would serve to deter guests from riding in that particular seat but what should've been done was to remove the exterior theming structure when it was determined that there were clearance issues relating to taller guests,no park in the US would even bother spending the extra money on that type of excessive theming especially if doing so put riders at risk of injury. -

Not only that but why did he keep loading & running the ride while waiting for maintenance to show up? Up here ops usually make an announcement via the PA system that a ride needs to cease operation temporarily if there is a problem that maintenance needs to take a look into.
