  1. ^The improvements at Magic Mountain are quite apparent. They were long overdue. However, I do agree with you about the removal of rides.
  2. I too am a sucker for vintage theme park stuff, especially when it's Disney. Scott, do you have fond memories of "if you had wings"?
  3. Is the west coast really that "laid back" and carefree?
  4. That looked crazy! And for such a small ride, it looked surprisingly freaky. That footage scared me a little.
  5. ^So it's basically the same as if you were making a few dollars more per hour. That's cool, man.
  6. Did I come off as rude? I'm sorry if I did, Tomi.
  7. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? It's easy to see all of the "big" and "official" updates in one area. In other words, one stop shopping! 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? Hard to say, not sure! 3. Is anything on the front page confusing?] Not to me, no. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I do it whenever I'm looking for an old update. And obviously if it's not one the front page any longer, I click on "Click HERE for past front page updates" 5. How often do you look at the front page? Whenever I come on this site I usually start off on the front page. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? I usually don't, or same as above. That link is not there right now so I can't double check. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? I think the bases are pretty much covered, in terms of roller coaster/ theme park coverage. So, I think a welcome addition would be something humorous. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? Keep up the good work, guys!
  8. Alma mater is Latin for "nourishing mother". It was used in ancient Rome as a title for the mother goddess, and in Medieval Christianity for the Virgin Mary. In modern times it is used to refer to the university or college a person attends or attended. So, if I attended and graduated Harvard let's say 5 years ago, Harvard would be my alma mater.
  9. I believe the technical term for Racer is Möbius. Great stuff, Yohan (lol)...so only KI remains? Well, we eagerly await! --chris
  10. ^Scott, I absolutely do see what you're saying, and I thank you for taking the time to say that in a civil way. I am glad that Diablo hasn't abandoned us, either. --chris
  11. ^^That's a very blatant ad hominem attack. I don't mean to backseat moderate, but that's against forum rules. However, I'm being attacked for giving Juno a mixed review. As I am a participating member of TPR and have shown my face at an event, I think I've at least proved I'm not an anonymous coward here to stir things up. Expressing my opinion of a movie is something I think I have a right to do! ^You're right, Elissa, trolls belong in the Sky Tower, not on TPR.
  12. ^I've always liked your posts, Chuck. Perhaps what "cool" Rich did was more along the lines of an ad hominem attack. The "yawn" was because he's been doing it for some time, without an apparent motive.
  13. ^^I'd say the last year of operation of the Wacky Soap Box Racers was indeed the last year of "Old Knott's."
  14. If winning an oscar gets people to stop posting on this site may I be the first to nominate you. *yawn* Sorry, this fish doesn't bite flamebait.
  15. ^You forgot to include the other one.
  16. ^I don't think we really have to kiss her @$$ any longer. She posted on this site a few times last year, but now she's an Oscar winner and probably will never return. I think we now can say what we really thought of the movie. She'll never read it anyhow. I think it's funny how people have addresse their posts to her. Pretty much like writing a letter to Anne Frank.
  17. I just watched Juno (DVD screener copy), and I must say, I've never seen a movie with as much cringe-inducing dialogue, but it did have heart.
  18. I took a picture of one of the employees also, then I asked her a question and she ignored me. I thought that she didn't hear me, so I asked her again. Then she turned around, rolled her eyes, and walked off. Maybe she thought I was making fun of her, but I was just taking a picture for my Photo Trip Report that I'll be making later this week. Would you mind saying what was your question?
  19. I talked to a Cedar Point employee who had visited Knott's (the lead on TTD) and she said Knott's was "okay." I told her she should have visited the park pre-Cedar Fair, and she didn't get it. It was beyond her that the park could have been better when it had far less roller coasters and thrill rides.
  20. When I saw the title of this thread, I thought an on-ride photo bandit was one who "steals" their photo by taking a picture of the display screen.
  21. ^I really would like to do the 2009 Scandinavia trip because my trip there in summer 2005 was pretty much devoid of fun. I only managed to get 2 credits, both at Tivoli Gardens.
  22. This is a reason I don't do waterparks. When you think about it, there's no two ways to it--it's disgusting! You're in a cesspool of perspiration, urine, and worse, from hundreds, thousands of people.
