  1. Yeah, I'd say Expedition Everest and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Looks fun, though! A Vekoma done right.
  2. Wrong thread to be discussing SFMM, but I would say other parks have a far worse coaster selection. It has the world's best stand-up, the world's best flyer, one of the best inverts, one of the best Arrow suspended, a nice floorless multi inversion, and a 4th dimension. There are enough good coasters to outweigh the mediocre ones. If your only criteria is bountiful airtime, okay, but I think there's more to coasters than that (and I LOVE airtime).
  3. I would say in my case the only way rides make me sick is if I am not feeling well, for any reason.
  4. It had occured to me, and I'm curious. For those of you who have been on pretty much every type of drop tower, how would you rank them against each other in terms of how intense they are? I mean the strongest negative Gs, producing the greatest "stomach in your throat" feeling. I'm talking about the different generations of Intamin drop towers, from the 1st gen. "freefalls" to their most current model, the S&S's, the Mosers, the various Tower Of Terrors at Disney parks, and so on. So, if you think you can rank them, please do! I for one am curious, and I'm sure many others are as well!
  5. Maybe this could/should be merged with my thread: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40660. Just a thought... Anyway, the only pics of the new Monorail Mark VII blue train (in pieces) still show it "shrinkwrapped." David "Darkbeer" Michael of www.miceage.com took a few: 2 1
  6. ^^I guess I always liked the fact it was there, even if I never rode it. I didn't know it was in such disrepair. You're absolutely right, a Thomas Town will be great for the park. I just felt it shouldn't always have to be "addition by subtraction." However, if GGP was falling apart... And yes, I do realize it is a much more landlocked area.
  7. Looks like Drayton Manor installed a Thomas Town *AND* kept an antique car ride. SFMM, you're doing it wrong!
  8. ^I've always wondered if that pic was just a quick snapshot from a friend or, as now revealed, an official Disney pic. I would have asked, but I was afraid I'd have been attacked, since it was no doubt discussed in detail in a thread in or around March 2005, for example.
  9. I don't have a joke, but I will say Lou will never be redundant.
  10. Since it hasn't been asked, I'll do it...which pornstarchick does this belong to?
  11. It seems snapping is allowed, almost encouraged. If so, great!
  12. I'd like to address some of these: Well, looks like I ended up addressing all of the points. When I think of some of my own, I will post again. Great thread, Barry! --chris
  13. Yeah, are all SF season passes for the park that issued it only?
  14. By him I mean it, by it I mean this PTR. I thought this deserved a bump!
  15. Just curious, did you have the song or the line from There Will Be Blood in mind?
  16. I really don't understand bringing a backpack into the park, either. Unless you're Wes, is it really necessary?
  17. I just had my letter to Anne Frank "returned to sender." I was crushed. --Robb I'll second that. I was quite hasty to assume Ms. Cody had abandoned us, and am I glad that she is still around.
  18. ^For a roller coaster with the only inversion being a standard loop, OTSRs and lapbars together is excessive. One or the other, but not both!
  19. Wow. No. Why would anyone want to scrap Monty? The whole point of this thread is the issue of Cedar Fair is ruining Knott's by removing classics rides and the like.
  20. I've said the last year of the old/good Knott's was 1996, when the Wacky Soap Box Racers closed. However, I think Knott's was already on its way downhill, perhaps even pre-Cedar Fair. Jaguar! in my opinion is the most boring roller coaster on this planet.
  21. This has been a great thread, Elissa. I look forward to its continuation!
  22. ^True, and that's a shame. It was a little disappointing to hear at WCB that there are no plans to renovate or rehab Revolution or Colossus. Such...a waste! I agree there are more important things at the Mountain, though, and so far the money has been going to all the right places.
  23. Hey Shane, a friend of mine (who is a few years older) mentioned that on the Soap Box Racers, there was a barrier, or a gate that opened at the last second. I think that's what I was seeing in the commercial. I had been on it several times, but do not remember that effect. Might you know when it was removed? -Chris
