No worries. California Valet Parking can be most noteworthy. The first thing I though of when I saw the mammoth in the tar pit pic was, the baby saying "You're doing it wrong!" You brought back a lot of great memories from my trip out there. I really love LA and the surrounding area. Sounds like you enjoyed it much. Looking forward to the next update.

Video TR: Sexin It Up with Vault ICEEs

They roll up the sidewalks and call a state of emergency. The local news get everbody freaked out in the name of ratings. There's a blitz on tp and milk at the stores. Kids are pulled out of schools. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria. Ray, tell 'em about the twinkie.... -
What movies are YOU looking forward to in 2008?

You mean it's NOT and Osbourne documentary? Though not a big Iron Man fan, the trailer and story intrigued me. Plus, I've been on a kick lately collecting super hero dvds. Hulk though, will not take up valuable shelf real estate, however, the train wreck that is Catwoman might. So also might the 3 disk 80's TMNT box set at Target. A friend and I are constantly quoting those movies. Also had a strange desire to see Mike Myer's Cat in the Hat and Jim Carrey's Grinch movie. Anywho, I'm looking forward to Iron Man. It's a good reason to try out Monoco Theatre and the nice leather seats and dinner service. Why does this sound like an adult movie? -

You know, everyday kind of stuff is just so much more fun with TPR. I like it. -
Dude, I'm so jealous. Vault Icee and college life...man I miss both. After such a vivid description, dunno if I have the guts to try the red blitz now. I'm heading to Birmingham around May 17 for a wedding. Would you and the other TPR folks want to meet up and hit Alabama Adventure during that time?

He's got guts, and glad he made it.

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
TheRapidsNerd replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was looking at the Birmingham (Alabama) convention and visitors bureau website and found this bit of info for Alabama Adventure park. convention and visitors bureau link http://www.bcvb.org/ttd-attractions-detail.asp?ID=0248648 Haven't had time to research the plan mentioned, and, there just didn't seem to be enough official sources or press releases to warrant a thread, so it's in here. Did not even know there was an indoor water park (similar to Kalahari or Great Wolf) proposed. Birmingham has a zoo, so bringing in another animal park seems odd, unless the idea is to have animals that the zoo doesn't. Anyway, thought I'd pass this along for those interested, particularly all the Bama Boys / folks around Tuscaloosa. -

Strangely, Iron Man. I love a good Ozzy documentary... -
Man, if wasn't busy skinnin possum and peelin taters, I'd come up with a better retort (that there's fancy talk for a zinger). As for IKEA, I always thought they were Italian because the boxes all say FRAGILE on the side. Frajeelee is Italian right?

Thanks for the good info, all. Didn't realize VF was so close and never heard of Como Town. Will look that up this weekend. Hmmm.....must keep planning trip. (gives mock dirty look to Golfie) As for testing, dunno. Looked like they were putting the chain lift on SpongeBob as well as framing the station last night. Since Splat O Sphere is still being built next to Avatar, it'll probably be a few days. Gotta keep that nice surf board and new set of LIMs or LSMs pretty. Until stations are built and the dirt stops flyin, it'll probably be a while. March 14 isn't that far off, though. Once everthing's done, there will be some great camera angles for stills and videos. Not sure when I'll get up there, but really looking forward to filming this unique park as well as the stuff nearby that everybody's suggested. Depending on when I finally get to Bloomington, meeting up with the local TPR peeps would be great.

What Beemer said, and dig that funky bar. -
Yup. Ain't it grand? Besides, how often, short of driving by a park, do we really get to see a coaster go up? My sleeps been just awful the past couple weeks, but it's been fun to watch the webcam. Now what's this near Ghost Blasters and Sponge Bob? EDIT: Some station framing/construction. Assembly night for passenger sled and prep for Friday night maybe? Here's the silver paint on TT Looty mentioned

There's Schlitterbahn in a couple places around Texas (New Brunfels and Galveston Island?). Hey, hang in there. Everyone's right. It's tough to pull up stakes and leave friends, etc., but, you could be going to far worse places where there's jack to do. Besides, look at it as a chance to grow and learn something new. You get to check out all those parks close by. Texas girls. You'll get to see Kemah and Boardwalk Bullet. Texas Girls. Somewhere within a few hours is Wonderland(?) Texas Girls. There are also some good looking girls in Texas. (laughing yet? Texas Girls) This could be cool once you get settled in. Plus, several of us will be on trips nearby at some point, so there's chances for meet ups. It'll be alright.

Dubai is really on the fast track to be a destination and entertainment mecca. The man made palm tree island resort is pretty impressive. Wasn't Universal or Warner Bros. thinking of a park there, along with other companies? Ok, I have to ask, what up with those two letters that get you the "small boys" line. I had that response on a YouTube post recently and don't know what it means. Sure, this will cost some cool points, but better that than ignorance.

I too want the Lou credit (no, not THAT one) when she's back in the states. Love the DCA picks, especially before it gets redone. Guy, I have that same bush hat. Good taste man.
