  2. In some ways, Hard Rock Park "feels" much like Alabama Adventure and Wild West World, but with better rides and themeing. There are some Fashion Island/california shopping mall nuances as well, with even a little Magic Mountain spanish flavor thrown in near the front entrance. It'll be better once the trees grow in, the bush thickens, and there's something to get you wet. No water rides is a curious call, but good for HRP using covered q's. My gut still says they'll get both water park expansion and rapids in the next couple years. Anywho, A great TR and congrats on being a part of music AND TPR history.
  3. Turbulencia. Really, tough call. Both have cool looking trains. Like the theming on both. You know, they're both cool in my book, so we'll leave it at that. Yes, it's a cop out, so deal with it.
  4. I like the video! Definately great to see Thunder River, however, also great to see Freeze, Tony Hawk, and yes, even the train. The music was catchy and lent itself well. Cool close-up wheel shots in the beginning. Sweet!
  5. Mortality is a scary thing. However, Robb, as you and mcjaco have both proven, you just live and have fun to the fullest. You two, and many others on this board, have had more fun and adventures in a just a few short years, than most people have they're whole lives. And you all still have many years ahead for even more! Hope that helps a bit.
  6. Some interesting rides they're starting off with. A Space Shot in a silo, a Mississippi River rapids or splash battle, and this tri-track coaster. ^Larry, my first thought was 3 lane racing woodie. Sure, it could be anything, and I'm out to lunch. Interesting to see, however. Ok, now this is biting at me, and yes, I'm totally out to lunch on the woodie. To stay low to the ground, gives a launched coaster credibility. A launched shuttle might fit in there some how, or a very small banked oval...Aha! after looking at the concept art, there is indeed a small banked oval with 3 sets of tracks. This makes me think motocoaster variant with Nascar theming, because of it's launch and small footprint. Enough theorizing from me. We'll see soon enough.
  7. Ok, this is weird. I had a coaster dream last night and I discover this thread this morning! In the dream Wes and I were riding Flying Unicorn for the last time before the Harry Potter conversion. Wes, wearing a plain white t-shirt, was crying, saying "That's my baby!" and didn't want to leave. For unknown reasons, I was reassuring him it would come out alright, but I was pretty sad about it too. Was also moved by this delicate and compassionate side of Wes. Then the dream switched to a huge black theatre stage with a set piece a couple stories tall. Think there were a dark tan or beige color side curtains. I remember some green bushes painted on other smaller set pieces in the background. The main piece ran almost the width of the stage, was painted white, and reminded one of a Cyclone (Coney, etc...) coaster. This particular scene had people driving an antique car (tin lizzy type) back and forth near the ends. They might have been dressed in turn of the century clothing. Think there was another set piece with a hill side painted on it, in the very back. The whole thing had almost an "Our Town" feel to it. Very simple, middle America, almost whimisical. Guess there was some good stuff in those buffalo wings I had for lunch yesterday.
  8. Scott, I've enjoyed this one a lot, especially Monorail Casino. Most entertaining. Glad it was still a good trip, despite illness.
  9. Themeing at Thomas Land is well done. Hope the same holds true for the Six Flags parks. Yay for Splash Canyon and thanks for including those pics. Enjoyed the TR.
  10. True comedy and a fantastic TR!
  11. Man this REALLY makes me miss BGE from last May! Oh, the missed "beer at der Fest Haus" credit. You've done well sir. I AM one of those "Crazy people." Sanity aced me out of a Smokey Mountain River Rampage credit that has yet to be gotten.
  12. Glad to see this TR. It's a good one! Have enjoyed the Inner Harbor the few times I've been, including a comical weekender with my girlfriend several years ago. Did you see the either fudge or taffy making show in one of the shopping buildings? They used to sing, dance and joke with the audience. You indeed taught me something new today. Never knew about the Six Flags history.
  13. My own admission. It was a response to Lou's old joke thread and I missed the post date.
  14. *sigh* I fail. But it's still the thought that counts. (laughing) Looks like Lou, Ginzo and Wes have new material. I'm so hosed.....
  15. ...the same coaster with the same name but moved to a new site is a negotiable "new" credit. (looking at you Star Liner and Dominator) ...the same coaster with a new name and/or moved to a new site is a negotiable "new" credit. ...you're willing to push the arguement for powered coasters as credits ...you give the mall kiddie coaster simulator a second look. ...certain water slides and diskos are negotiable. ...you count past romantic relationships. ...your Christmas Card list includes Intamin and Zamperla (hi Bruno!). ...you have a framed BGE map or post cards on your desk. ...$7 + for a kiddie coaster ride isn't out of the question.
  16. An American, an Irishman, and a German are all drinking at a pub (why does this sound a like a TPR trip already?) Anyway, there are flies EVERYWHERE and they're landing in the beer foam. The American says "Ugh! That's disgusting!" and won't drink. The German just shrugs and drinks anyway. The Irishman, grabs each fly by the wings, pats them on the back with his finger and says "Spit it out! Spit it Out!" --------------------------------------------------- Three strings are out in the middle of the countryside and see a small villiage. They're all really thirsty, so they hit the local pub. Sign out front says "No Strings Allowed." String 1 one says "I got this." He walks in and says "I'll have 3 pints of your best, please." Bartender glares and say "Cantcha read? No strings! Now bugger off!" String 2 sees String 1 fail and says "Pffft! Amateur!". String 2 goes in and orders. "3 of your best Ale, friend." Bartender scowls and points at the door. "Read the sign! No Strings! Now off with ya before I give ya a right good kickin!" String 3 says nothing. He messes up his hair and confidently strides into the bar. The other 2 strings look at each other, expecting certain doom. Meanwhile, String 3 orders with a dodgy grin. "I'll have 3 pints of your best." Bartender whirls around, throws down his towel and booms "So help me, if yer another one of those strings...." String 3 says "Nope, I'm afraid not." --------------------------------------------------- Hang in there and feel better soon.
  17. Ok guys, here you go. Worked in the layering you asked for and added your names in colors similar to the coaster tracks your assigned to. Also added the ride logos. If it's not what you're after, don't hesitate and we'll fix it. Hope you enjoy! Makes me wanna go to Cedar Point. How 'bout you?
  18. Man, bummer that happened to you. I still think that coaster is cool, epsecially for an early stand up. As for the video, me thinks it was standard issue. Don't remember which thread, but several folks remembered and laughed about watching that tape. Someone even posted pics of the box. Think my parents still have it in our stuff from previous moves (about 30 boxes out in the garage). If we can ever get into that stuff, there are some good WDW home movies and SFoG from around 1992. Anywho, yay for scratch guitar and moog synths! pianojohn, I bow to your superior license plates and that pic of you with the Shamu Beetle at SeaWorld a few weeks ago.
  19. Hey, sounds good. Thanks for the info and will work on it this weekend.
  20. Ok, I just watched the show over on hardrockparkblog. Some of the elements were extremely well timed with the lyrics, while other elements were cool, but didn't quite fit. The two comets that fly around the lagoon were a good surprise and caught me off guard. Nicely done there. The lighting on the giant guitar synced to the guitar solo was also well done. Would've liked to have seen more done with the big guitar other than just the solo and shimmering lights in the beginning. The fountains were ok in places and the different laser effects were well timed. Of course, they're much more impressive in person. Over all, enjoyable and entertaining. Not a jaw dropper, but it doesn't have to be. Whenever I visit, I'll go see it (and I'm not much of a fireworks fan.)
  21. Glad to help out if possible. If you guys could narrow down to a few faves of each ride (3-5 per), that would make it easier. Is there a particular screen size you had in mind? (1280x960, 1024x768, etc...)
  22. Welcome to my world. In the last couple years, I've really grown to like Great Adventure and it's history. Hope to visit in the coming years. It, SFoG, and Magic Mountain are some of the ones I enjoy keeping up with, Busch Parks and Disneys aside.
