  1. ^That's what scares me if this goes through. With BGE being 15 mins. away from me, it would be a great loss is if it's sold to some investment or real estate company and see the park close. Look what those Belgians have caused.
  2. Yeah, Alpie is usually heavily trimmed nowadays.
  3. Honestly, I don't see how $65 a share is a great deal when they closed yesterday at $62 a share.
  4. ^Make that 4 parks being built in Dubai. A Busch Gardens, a SeaWorld, an Aquatica, and a Discovery Cove.
  5. Pride over profit! This would be an epic loss to this nation. Do you know how many Americans would lose jobs over this? InBev has had a history of cost cutting, so they would probably cut a lot out from AB. www.saveab.com
  6. I think this would be a huge mistake. Take an American icon, and all of a sudden it's now just an asset of a foreign company, and you'll see some angry shareholders as well as some angry Americans.
  7. I just don't see this happening, even though it's a nice amount of moo-la. If it is sold, I think BEC could sustain itself. Last year it had ~$1.6 billion in sales, just from the parks.
  8. Was his name "KingsDominion123"? If so, I've had problems with that turd too.
  9. Apollo's Chariot is usually walk on anyways. I agree, Griffy is better in the back, and that's why I always queue for the third row. Glad you had a great time at BGE. I do every time I go, and I go like 20 times a year.
  10. While you were at BGE, was it dead all day? It usually is in the morn and early afternoon on weekdays. I'll be headin' up there on Tuesday. Great pics and TR!
  11. A rather bad man dies and meets Satan in a room with three doors. Satan explains, "I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that you have to spend eternity behind one of these doors. But, the good news is that you can take a peek behind each and take your choice." So, the man opened the first door and saw a room full of people, standing on their heads on a concrete floor. Not very nice, he thought. Opening the second door, he saw a room full of people standing on their heads on a wooden floor. Better, he thought, but best to check the last door. Upon opening the last door, he saw a room full of people, standing waist-deep in shit and sipping coffee. "Of the three, this one looks best," he said and waded in to get something to drink while Satan closed the door. A few minutes later the door opened, Satan stuck his head in and said, "Ok, coffee break's over, back on your heads!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There were three men who were lost in the forest. They were captured by cannibals. The cannibal king told the prisoners that they could live if they pass the trial. The first step of the trial was to go into the forest and get ten pieces of the same kind of fruit. So all three men went separate ways to gather fruits. The first one came back and said to the king, "I brought ten apples." The king then explains the trial to him - you have to shove the fruits up your ass without any expression on your face or you'll be eaten. The first apple went in...but on the second one he winced in pain, so he was killed and went to heaven. The second guy arrives with ten berries. When the king explained the trial to him, he thought to himself that this should be easy. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...but on the ninth berry he burst out in laughter, therefore also was killed. The first guy and the second guy met in heaven. The first one asked, "Why did you laugh, you almost got away with it?" The second one replied, "I couldn't help it. I saw the third guy coming with pineapples."
  12. I was told that it originally had very many problems with maintenance, and still does today.
  13. Yeah, after Pompeii, it's a long shot that BGE will get an Intamin, although I'll be more than glad to welcome an Intamin fart. I actually got a chance to meet with Larry Giles, the park's head of engineering, last year and he even said Busch (as a compay) doesn't really like working with Intamin, partly due to their safety record and not so hot reliability.
  14. http://www.dailypress.com/news/dp-nessie-pg,0,382451.photogallery http://www.wavy.com/Global/SearchResults.asp?vendor=wss&qu=loch+ness+monster BGE's Loch Ness Monster turned 30 tody (well, not officially, that was last week) but the park held a media event for it.
  15. KD really stepped it up. Dominator looks AWESOME! It'll look even better once the landscapping and grass pops up under the track. Great TR
  16. I never knew that CF was looking to sell MF, Raptor, and Corkscrew. And it looks like Silverwood bought them
  17. ^Do you know if they are leaving the rails the way they are?
  18. ^It's used for maintenance to get around the track. When it goes through an inversion, the ball rotates so the worker stays in place.
  19. box of Hamburger Helper...$1.79 from Food Lion.
  20. They're supposed to be introducing a new carrier soon and eventually build a new terminal. Anyway, Great TR and photos!
  21. So, did you fly into Newport News as well as flying out?
  22. Nice pics. I, too, didn't think much of the sign, but it looks awesome at night.
  23. I think they're pushing it for a May 20th media day. They still have to finish painting, station and queue work, landscaping, and testing. Granted it's a used coaster, it still has to be extensively tested.
  24. They look new. I don't really see how you can paint those seats and restrints without noticing it.
