  1. Which one is supposed to be the looping slide? I don't see anything in there with a loop...
  2. While it's good to see that they are retracking, it doesn't seem like they are making any progress with the area where the loop was removed. I wonder how long it will be before they even start work on that bit?
  3. DING DING DING! We have a winner! I'm in 100% agreement with you Paul. Until all the supports start coming out, I don't see this as being a major modification of the ride. It would be nice if they could rework the launchers so that the two trains could be launched simultaneously without knocking out power in central New Jersey.
  4. ^ I agree. That's the rough shape of the element, but it's done at an angle instead of the apex of a hill. It's not really an inline twist, either.
  5. Elissa, I've been on them. The second launch isn't anywhere near 70 mph! The majority of the speed is gained from gravity. None of this has been confirmed, so it's all a moot point, anyways.
  6. ^Paul, I think they are suggesting that the zero-g roll/inline twist will be replaced by a small airtime hill. That's well after the launch, so certainly it would be well below 70 mph. I still want to know why some people are so certain that's what's happening here. Steel coasters get retracked, too.
  7. In a funny side to this, I walked into the local GameStop the other day to sell a few old games. When I asked if they had any PS3's, he said "Sure, I have a bunch in the back." I then asked if he had any Wii's available, to which his answer was, "Nah, I can't keep those in stock." So, as Nintendo sold nearly as many Wii's as MS sold Xbox360s the past two months, despite shortages, does that mean they are wiinning the console wars right now?
  8. Nope. Is there any snow on the ground outside your house?
  9. ^ Can't spell 'European' < Has been to the real WallyWorld \/ Wants to meet up with Wally for some European beers.
  10. Looks like it would fit that new Schlitterbahn park in KC pretty well.
  11. That'd be 'Baka Gaijin', Don. Ikura! Ooh, I don't like that stuff! Too salty!
  12. As soon as I saw this, I thought of Kanonen. Bakken seems like the sort of park that would go for something with a nice small footprint like that.
  13. ^Relax! The wink meant I was being sarcastic! I just hope that you understand how the poll works. If there are 100 people from Australia who rank it #1, but haven't been on anything outside of that country, it can't be #1 in the poll. Most of the Australian ballots this year have about 5 total coasters ranked, all in Australia. It will likely do well this year simply because there are a few people who have ridden coaster outside of Australia and still ranked it #1, but there will likely need to be more head-to-head comparisons with other high ranked coasters before it can be the #1 in the world, even if it is actually an outstanding ride.
  14. I was supposed to be #7, but they lost my e-mail address and couldn't find my phone number in Japan.
  15. Woops! I totally knew that tako is octopus! Ika is the word for squid!
  16. ^ Is surrounded by gypsies. < Is looking for that handle and someone who can weld. \/ Had banana french toast for lunch today.
  17. No, I didn't make any. Did you make a New Year's Resolution?
  18. Only to Jeff Johnson..... --Robb "And probably Belson too...." Alvey No, I wouldn't. ^They wanted music that more than 25 people had heard before...
  19. ^That's a pretty common way to do it, and it prevents the appearance of alphabetical bias to the polling system.
  20. Yeah... that would be fun Employee discount on all the things you need to build your own backyard woodie!
  21. I cannot answer that. What's a Morgan Alert? Is that like an Amber Alert?
