  1. Hi Chuck! Thanks for the video, cool stuff.
  2. That 10 million in capital expenditure could be the combined cost of: Moving X-flight Massive reconfiguration and new trains for Son of Beast Signage changes from the rebranding from Paramount to Cedarfair Just those three combined could easily reach 10 million dollars.
  3. Sorry, Gnome, I have to disagree with you here. Despite having only 4 coasters, BGE has been a 'must visit' park for years due to the outstanding service, landscaping, shows and the coasters that have been there all along.
  4. My two trips to Big Chief's / Mt Olympus have been off season, so I had a great experience with the ops there. Multiple laps per ride with little to no braking in the stations. Works for me, especially as there were people in line both times!
  5. You posted one on the 20th and another on the 21st. You got one comment, from Guy between. We love the comics. We will lavish you with praise and love, but you have to give us time! (Remember the site's a lot busier on the weekends.)
  6. Wow. I also see where the presents go. (A very important part of the equation.) An unusual tradition to be sure, but it's still cool!
  7. That blank wall has struck me as odd from the first time I saw it. The final brake run is obviously in there, but I'm wondering if there will be some sort of dark ride element as well. It seems like a long way back to the station from there, as that area is under the first drop and lift hill.
  8. Well, jeepers, Flipdude! If you post them one a day, you aren't as likely to get a million responses! There's an awkward moment, for sure. Something similar happened to me just before I left Japan. Ouch, Guy, I'm feeling for you! Just keep them coming until we tell you to stop, Flipdude.
  9. I don't think that he was saying that the rides or the waterpark are bad in and of themselves, rather that the park was better looking 'in the old days.' I can agree with that sentiment, but not every park can be Busch or Disney, even if we'd all love it if they were!
  10. It's even got some pieces partly assembled, like finding drawer rails already attached! IKEACOASTER! Does it come with a little allen wrench?
  11. Hey, Wrebbit, thanks for the translation! 20 minutes isn't that bad. Some of the big ones in Japan were 30 minutes. A wheel that big will almost feel quick at that time. Anybody feel like figuring out the feet per second speed of a circle?
  12. That's just rediculously huge. How long is the d@mn thing going to take to make a lap? Isn't the London Eye like an hour already?
  13. On my drive from Seattle to Chicago in October, I observed a new mini-park in the Black Hills area between Deadwood and Mt. Rushmore. Although they only have a Miler Kiddy Oval, it is apparently the first ever rollercoaster in South Dakota.
  14. Lot's of sweet stuff in that there web page. Thanks, Dallas!
  15. You have to look at the flip side, though. Kemah Boardwalk is a new entrant to the amusement park business, there are new parks in West Virginia and Kansas, there's new parks headed for Singapore and Shanghai, and don't forget that at least three seemingly world-class parke opened around China last year. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, too. There's always some park closing, and another one opening elsewhere. It's always been the nature of the business. Try looking at the historical period of the US just before the Great Depression, and how many parks there were. Then look at how many closed in the next 20 years. (Literally 100's!) You'll see that what's going on now is relatively minor, it just seems bad because you are more attuned to what's happening right now.
  16. ^Which is probably exactly what they are doing. They might even close it next year if the flyer is really going in.
  17. ^ No, no, no. You are confused. The underaged prostitutes are in Thailand. In Singapore, there's really only one whorehouse, affectionally referred to by US Navy sailors as 'Four Floors of Whores.' It's near Orchard Road, but a little to the east. I've not partaken, but I've heard far more stories than I ever needed to. In Thailand, they are simply everywhere, no real need to search or bribe a cabbie. Hmmm. Is this post still PG-13? On topic, if they open this place, will the common abbreviation be USS? United States Ship or Universal Studios Singapore?
  18. Talent, m'boy. Pure talent. I was under the impression that English isn't your first language. Regardless, that was an excellent modification job. Bravo!
  19. Wait, Guy, isn't Ron Possible just Kim Possible's brother? I think you need to go win your woman back!
  20. I wonder if the highlights version of Wicked is the same as what they ran at USJ this summer?
  21. Wow. That's pretty impressive imagineering. My hat's off to those guys!
  22. ^^ Busch Gardens California redux! That'd be nice, and SFI hasn't ripped out too many trees over the years that Busch couldn't turn that aspect around. The water bills would be pretty outrageous, though. That's a whole lot of wishful thinking... Too bad it'll probably never happen.
  23. What's the lightest (woodie) trains available? PTC's? Millenium Flyers? Just curious...
  24. If this isn't a new for 2007 coaster, B&M's having a really bad year.
  25. I just listened to the whole SFI conference call, I can't believe that no mention was made of 6FNO in any way. Did they sneak through some sort of buy out with the city of New Orleans?
