  1. I consider Steel Vengeance worse since they no longer separate FL/non-FL people after the lockers. Instead of one pathway of people after the merge, like at MF, there's two.
  2. Meh, as a never-Breakers Platinum Pass holder and someone who likes to grab their FL wristband at the very start of the day, I don't mind. I never used my Early Entry time on them anyway. I typically use it on Millie since it has the 2nd worst FL implementation at the park. With Iron Dragon being added, I might have to make that my first stop since it's not on FL at all. I'm more upset by Cedar Downs not being on the list. Edit: Upset was perhaps the wrong word; "slightly bothered" would be more accurate.
  3. Cedar Point's daily Fast Lane/Plus is now purchase-able for the spring and summer. Prices range from... Fast Lane: $89 - $169 Fast Lane Plus: $114 - $249. FL+ for FL price for Platinum Pass holders still applies. Still no FL/+ application at Cedar Point Shores. No surprises here.
  4. Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Kings Dominion were absolutely packed during Haunt. Dorney Park was its normal dead self, but still larger crowds than normal. Those four parks all did both - a family friendly thing during the day, then Haunt at night.
  5. At most CF and SF parks, the night-time Halloween events haven't been separately ticketed events, and season passes have been good.
  6. If I had to guess, I'd say a rename/re-theme of Scrambler to fit the overall vibe of the area. EDIT: It can totally use it, too. I'm pretty sure it's still rocking its original lighting package from whenever it was originally built. At one point it was called Witch Doctor, which while I guess now isn't too PC, would be a good fit. Redoing Backlot would be major work that I'm sure they would have announced more than 3 weeks before opening.
  7. No idea on Wonder Woman, but Jersey Devil does not have a single rider line.
  8. No, I don't. I'm quite confident that if the launch was the problem (it's not), they'd scrap the ride before throwing subtantial money into it. But they asked if it was possible, which technically it is.
  9. Anything is possible with enough money. Besides, I figure if a 30+ year old Schwarzkopf that used a cable launch can be converted to LIMs from a different manufacturer, Dragster could be converted to Intamin's own LSMs or another manufacturer's launch system.
  10. It absolutely is. But the launch wasn't the problem.
  11. Is this a joke, too, that I can't tell because its not labelled as such? Please explain in detail how any decision regarding the future of Dragster would in any way effect the thus-far-non-public-and-without-any-timetable Volcano replacement plans?
  12. If you're limited to weekends, Sunday will be your best option, outside of basically every weekend you've mentioned. Holiday weekends, even Easter, always draw crowds to parks. I'm glad you don't care about the water park, because it is always beyond packed. I'm talking two hour wait for the lazy river and an hour wait for the wave pool (yeah, their wave pool has a queue line). I'd go on a non-Holiday Sunday and budget for the skip-the-line if you need it. I also gotta ask, where are you in NJ that Hershey Park is an 8 hour drive?
  13. LOL and these are the people who wanted to take over Cedar Fair...
  14. I swear to god did everyone's brains collectively turn off with this announcement? Dragster already frequently ran only 4 or 5 trains (there are 6) with no impact on throughput. It's never going to be an upcharge; it still processes almost 1,000 people per hour, which is just slightly behind Steel Vengeance, Maverick and not that far behind Millie. Are those going to become an upcharge attractions too? Why not just upcharge for everything in the park and don't charge an admission fee?
  15. The same insurance companies that continue to insure rides that people *died* on, and who realize that things are more nuanced than "one terrible incident = shut it down forever." I also wouldn't be surprised if Cedar Fair was self-insured, at least in part. The world didn't end for these types of rides when the cable frayed and whipped someone in the face in 2004.
  16. Yeah, though this is disappointing and perplexing given the outcome of the investigation, if it results in any kind of improvements I won't mind. That said, perhaps the announcement is just a precaution and they're going to be reworking the queue during the season with hopes of opening it later in the year. Gotta keep the hope alive.
  17. See the in depth discussion we already had here.
  18. Gotta laugh at the tagline..."One of the most anticipated rides in the US." I forgot this even existed haha. Nice to see B&M going with retractable vertical fins for the magnetic brakes, like Intamin, rather than the fixed horizontal fins they've used in the past. Nice addition to the park, definitely.
  19. Friday will have lower crowds than Saturday, depending on the weather. Really you'll be fine on either day in July. Haunt is a different story, but you didn't ask about that haha. FL+ will be SUPER effective on either day. On every coaster that it's offered on (which is all of them except for Bat and Woodstock Express), there is only one where it doesn't dump you right into the station (Flight of Fear). No Cedar Point-esque "30 minute wait after the merge" nonsense here. It's also valid on pretty much every non-kiddie flat ride in the park. Its even valid on some slides in the water park! You really can't go wrong with FL+ at Kings Island. Waits themselves with FL+ should be one or two trains at most, except for Orion and Beast...plan on maybe 15 minutes at each of those, but possibly just a station wait. Mystic Timbers' FL line might get backed up too, but only if the grouper sucks. Oh, and Beast, once it gets dark will probably be closer to 30-45 minutes with FL for a non-front row ride.
  20. They're there, just way down the list (where they should be, honestly). Cornball Express is #214 Superstition Mountain is #366 Hoosier Hurricane is #395
  21. Agreed. I found Twisted Colossus to rather sub-par, and really only better than Wicked Cyclone out of the 5 RMCs I've been on.
  22. Awesome news. I knew it would end up at one of the Gene Staples-owned parks, and didn't really see where it could possibly fit at Indiana Beach or Clementon (even though I would love having another Schwarzkopf so close).
