  1. Maybe he is in traction from his last rollercoaster ride. I reckon Psychlone on ride video would have him at his entertaining best. My friends who aren't into coasters just cracked up at the Manhattan Express video.
  2. I was wondering that too, like that guy who is always in pain on rides, some of his great performances were on Manhattan Express, and William's Grove Cyclone. Poor guy he seems in so much pain. He probably has nightmares about being a test rider for Togo or Vekoma.
  3. When CF first bought the park, I thought maybe they just got it because it was a bargain rather than primarily a strategic acquisition, with a worst case scenario that they would make a profit selling the land at a later date. I think another possibility is that if the park continues to underperform, they will keep the water park and sell the rest off, and move the rides. A flyer and Floorless at CP, yay, maybe the impulse can duel with Wicked Twister (Wicked Twisters?).
  4. Is there any likelihood that BGW will get a dive machine as well at some stage (not saying 2006 of course) ?
  5. Enthusiast Response: Superman Ride of Steel at SFNE Surviving 104 days on a coaster practical response: a small flat kiddie ride with an accomodating train, a specific one doesn't come to mind. What are the details about these records, did he have to ride the coaster for so many hours a day, did he have meal, toilet breaks?
  6. 1. Superman Ride of Steel SFNE #1 2. Millennium Force #3 3. Top Thrill Dragster #22 4. X #41 5. Magnum XL-200 #44 6. Nitro #6 7. Storm Runner #13 8. Raptor #32 9. Fav Wood (Ghostrider) #5 10. Incredible Hulk #28 It goes to show that in many cases likes and dislikes in coasters are very subjective, and vary much.
  7. Sydney in June will be cold, probebaly in the mid teens celcius (60 degrees farenheit), though somes days it gets up to the mid twenties (80 degrees). Not much on the coaster front in Sydney, there is a wild mouse at a park called Luna Park which is at the northern foot of the harbour bridge. South East Queensland has got all the coasters (nothing spectacular compared to the US) ranging from the new Superman rocket, an Intamin reverse freefall, a custom Vemoma SLC, a really tame Arrow looper, indoor wild mouse, to an old corkscrew. Hope you enjoy Sydney, we will try to be on our best behaviour.
  8. What about The Beast at PKI, is there a POV for that anywhere, and while we are on woodies what about Boulder Dash and Shivering Timbers?
  9. I don't care much for kiddie coasters but I always ride them for the credit. I have never tried to borrow a kid to get on any of the must be accompanied by a kid coasters, but I have tried sneaking on without a kid, 100% unsuccessfully. I just about had dislocate both my hips to get my legs into Timberline Twister at Knott's. Guilty as charged - credit whore, but my offences are relatively minor.
  10. Glad I got that credit, I was terrified - I hate heights. Isn't everything practically legal in Nevada - they should let them do that fish hook coaster they wanted to do, make it an 1100 foot drop - I would be there in a flash.
  11. People'e experiences with Knott's seem to vary, I have been this year and last towards the end of September on a weekday and it's been great. All the rides were running and there was no wait. It is strange you can go Top Thrill Dragster with glasses with a strap but not Xcelerator, I think Cedar Fair should be consistent but maybe it has something to do with California Law.
  12. Superman looks like a midget did they get Vern Troyer (mini me) to play superman in the upcoming film or something? I should have stayed back at work and looked down from my window as they were filming in Sydney outside my work's front door at nights. Have they got an animatronic Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane in the new film) in the themed part, now that would impress me.
  13. Sounds like it might top the USH Mummy for theming (I have been on it six times, and I just spoke to Rabid on the phoine about Superman), but the Florida Mummy might be hard to top (ridden it three times). But it will be a far more intense ride than either of the Mummy rides, I have no doubt about that.
  14. It's only taken over two hundred and seventeen years since independence from the British (I hope my history is right) to get a decent coaster - unless you count an Intamin Freefall, Vekoma SLC, or a Vekoma 1st Gen Boomerang as a decent coaster. Hopefully this will up the ante with their rival park Dreamworld and they will get something decent.
  15. First Coaster: Wild Mouse - Luna Park (Sydney) 1 Aug First Real Coaster: Top Thrill Dragster - Cedar Point 28 Aug Last Coaster: Lethal Weapon - Warner Bros Movie World (Aust) 18 Dec Highlights: Falling in love with Superman Ride of Steel at SFNE all over again. Front row Top Thrill Dragster and hitting 124 mph. Front row Millennium Force Deserted Knott's with all rides running.
  16. Superman is slated to open on Dec 26th at the moment. Wile e Kiwi in the tweety photo will be one of the people in the first train with people on it on Dec 22, though they have already put back the date twice. The coaster is working fine and has been for a while but there is a lot of theming that interacts with the ride that they are still working on, I believe.
  17. In summary, Warner Bros Movie World has three coasters with a fourth almost open. It has some innovative rides with great theming. The Vekoma SLC is not bad, good first drop, usual head banging, but with a helix section added to the end which puts it above other SLC's. The Scooby Doo has great theming, and starts out as an exciting ghost train, then you go up an elevator to a indoor wild mouse course, which starts with a backwards drop and then turns around to go through the more traditional wild mouse course. Wild West Falls is well themed water ride with a big last drop and also a surprise indoor backwards drop during the long themed course. The Matrix exhibit was OK, and the looney tunes section has some innovative rides. Also some good shows like Police Academy, a copy of of the Shrek 4D from Universal, and lots of other goodies. Superman Escape the Intamin rocket wasn't open yet but it looks awesome. What will go on inside that building will be sure to impress even the most jaded coaster fans. Intamin goodness coming very soon. Me with 3 of the Park caracters, the character on the far left is Wile e Kiwi who chases sheep instead of road runner. Line theming for Scooby Doo Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster entrance The final drop on Wild West Falls Entry to the Wild West section of the park Police Academy Stunt Show - good fun. A Vekoma SLC, but at least it's got a cool helix. Two very good reasons to go to Movie World!
  18. Busch Gardens Tampa is an hour away but that has the most credits on offer, they have some quality too like Shakira and Montu.
  19. Yeah, I real wanna check out Titsu. and ride Shakira in Tampa as well.
  20. Rabid, aren't those girls in your avatar animatronic Superman groupies? Don't forget to tell them about the secret, surprise indoor element you told me about yesterday.
  21. WillMontu wrote Are the sheep too quick in the states? Gratuitous Kiwi bashing, losing the Rugby League to them hurt.
  22. I don't have a pet but if I got one, I would want this little fella. I'd call him Sniper
  23. Depends on the girl and depends on the coaster: Roseanne Barr or Ride of Steel - Ride of Steel by a landslide though Roseanne might eat the coaster before you get a ride. I think find a girl you like to have sex with, who doesn't make you compromise on coasters and get the best of both worlds. Damn, the only girl in the world like that is taken - you are very lucky man Robb. Also it might depend on which ride lasts longer, the girl or the coaster. Haven't the German's already tried sex on coasters, I am surprised the thriving film industry in the San Bernadino valley hasn't presented a sex on a coaster variation in one of their films. For me, no strings attached sex over coasters. Strings attached sex like wife and children, I'll take coasters.
  24. For you non ozzies, boxing day is the day after Christmas which is also a public holiday in Oz. Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force had a careless one night stand and gave birth to a young child called Superman Escape. This ride should be fun, I will be up there this week and I may have to disguise myself as one of those crash test dummies to get a ride. I think they picked Rabid because they wanted to test the anti roll backs and they aren't sure if they will work. Maybe Rabid can confirm whether the theming will be fully operational on wednesday.
  25. WM Goliath wrote What a day that was, rode dragster ten times straight, slept in and didn't even use my early entry, didn't need to. Here is photos of the Dragster and Millennium queues that day: Top Thrill Dragster line Millennium Force Line
