  1. Belomy Sights opened in 1980. This version of the park shows it as it will appear for the 2008 season. "Souldiver" opened in 2006 and quickly became the park's most popular roller coaster. New for 2008 are "Headrush" (Intamin launched coaster) and "Firestarter" (S&S Sky Swatter) The park's flume ride, "Colorado River Run" remains one of the most popular rides in the park to this day. In 1995, the water park next door opened. -Sam Belomy Sights 2008.zip
  2. Only to be beat by my team! Still, very nice park.
  3. EDIT: Do we really need another backseat moderator? I didn't know that could be considered backseat moderating.
  4. Unless we already have a bunch from other locals who have posted photos by the time I get a chance to go, I will certainly post one. Can you say Christmas tree porn!? All I have to say is that this will give me yet another reason to go during the holiday season. I'm assuming most of the rides (excluding the water rides) will be open for this. Also, we may get to see early construction on Tony Hawk's Big Spin.
  5. Right click on the file in the zip folder, select "copy" then right click where you want the file to go and hit "paste." Simple as that!
  6. Functional or non-functional? I know how to do both of those along with quite a few other hacks. I'll post some tutorials when I get some time.
  7. Because it's the cheapest form of theming. Why are "sky coasters" so damn expensive. $35 for a single ride. I mean c'mon SF you don't need to let us all know you're THAT desperate for cash. Why not just provide shelves for our loose articles instead of charging us rip off prices for lockers that just take your money and eat it? (Happened to my mom on X)
  8. On Intamin Impulse coasters, the floors don't drop out at all because they just have the seats raised. As for the SLC situation, I have never seen the floor drop out before the train departs. One thing that bugs me is on Vekoma/Arrow standard coaster trains, the restraints leave no room to put your hands up.
  9. They could use a coaster, but not at the expense of this many flats, especially the S&S Sky Swatter. I personally don't see Dark Knight as a worthy replacement for this loss. No good can come from this unless SFMM gets some of these flats.
  10. Is this some kind of joke!? Can you provide a link to the actual article? I searched around and couldn't find it.
  11. Nice. This picture should go on the TPR myspace. I have thought of this too! A TPR movie would be beyond hilarious! It could involve credit whoring, randomness and more. I'd better not get too side tracked with this!
  12. This looks awesome. I have always wanted to do one of these. Too bad they don't have them (at least that I know of) in the US.
  13. Great job on this. Axman, that only looks short because he hasn't added the support structure. This is right on track to becoming a full fledged park recreation.
  14. People are horrible to do this to animals.
  15. This park looks awesome. I hope I can go with TPR to sometime to Japan. 2009 maybe?
  16. I came across this very interesting and in depth report about The Chiller. Including everything from concept design to ride experience to removal. http://greatadventurehistory.com/BandRTheChiller.htm
  17. Do other Six Flags parks charge extra to have the card scanned now?
  18. Several weeks ago we got into a discussion about roller coasters in my physics class and my teacher thought Stealth was still at GA. Then just yesterday I overheard a girl who was telling her friends about Kong at SFDK (though she called it King Kong) and they couldn't understand how you start off upside down before going through the "loop-de-loop." Sometimes I wonder how even the GP can be so clueless.
  19. It's nice to see something other than So Cal photo TRs here.
  20. Yes it does go that far, but only on the second time through. It has 3 forward launches and 2 reverse launches. When sitting in the front , you can see just how close the train gets to the edge of the track. No matter where you sit in the train, you will be inverted at least twice during the ride. So yes I consider it an inversion. It has it, but SFDK has it turned off. Ah the good 'ol days in 2001 when they had it turned on.
  21. ^I think I have one of those too. I have several Elitch Gardens maps (from when it was a SF). I think I also have a KBF map from 2006/
  22. Well, here's why I thought it looped. (Look at red track) That looks quite a bit like Jaguar and Montezuma's Revenge on a KBF map. EDIT: I know what you mean. I have a GA park map from 2002 and it does look like there's a loop. Might wanna change the picture.
  23. You mentioned a video. Would you mind posting us a link?
  24. I repeatedly rode Freefall at SFMM both times I was there this year because I know it's only a matter of time before that is removed. I can't see them removing it for a new attraction as it's underneath Riddler's Revenge and there would be no room. I can see them just leaving it closed to rust away like they are doing with Flashback.
  25. I'm wondering how this will affect me with me going off to my first year of college only five days after I get back from East Coast 2008.
