Speaking as someone who has done that continent recently, be careful. There are not a huge number of coasters, true, but if you want to get to them all you do need ten days at least. Adventure World in Perth needs two days on its own because of where it is, a three hour flight from anywhere else. The two Luna Parks - Melbourne and Sydney - are tiny, especially in Melbourne - but again a day or so will be wanted in each city to at least see something. If you want to do Merimbula then you need to budget for a silly drive each way to get there (~8 hours) or work around the flight schedule. The big coaster clump is in the greater Brisbane area, and the good news there is that the parks are all very close together. I'd be inclined to allow a day for Warner, a day for Dreamworld, and put Sea World and Wet'n'wild onto the same time. If you want to do Aussie World put it on a day with a flight. That's seven days if you skip Merimbula, eight with it (at a pinch). Add Rainbow's End onto the mix and you've hit ten. -

I really need to upload my photos from this place. Maybe I'll get round to it this evening. -

Try the late Expoland in Japan. Six white coasters... -
Being the nerd that I am, I just did a query on my coaster database to find out how many of the coasters I've been on are gone. I was told that still photographs were not permitted in Codona's Amusement Park in Aberdeen - a slightly nonsensical policy really considering that the park actually sells instant cameras! -

Well, it was truly awful when I rode it in 2006 - and there's no way in hell that I'd rate it higher than the (magnificent) Montaña Rusa in La Feria... Trip report from the time: http://www.bannister.org/coasters/trips/2006/1125.htm -

The ACE/ECC group that hit Japan in 2005 saw Fujiyama break down that day, and we subsequently received a very nice e-mail from the Park Director apologising for what happened. I can only assume that this person is no longer in charge... -

Yeah, I'd love to drive a DeLorean some day, just to see if it really does vaporize when you hit 88mph... -

It's pretty good okay... not particularly frightening but the standard of the theming is top notch. -

The worst thing is that I've still not managed to ride Fujiyama despite three visits to the sodding place, so I'm going to have to visit on my next Japan trip. Fortunately I have an exit pass from when it broke down on my last visit... I wonder if they'll still take it It's partly credit whoring -- I only need six more credits out of the one hundred tallest steel coasters in the world, and it's the only one in the top ten -- but it's more a determination to ride what was for several years the tallest full circuit coaster in the world. -

There are a few really impressive looking SLCs out there (it's amazing how you can polish a turd, eh?) and this is probably the top of the pile. Watch out for Infusion in Blackpool, the Mayan Adventure in Taiwan, and the Cobra in Cape Town mind. -

Nürburgring launched coaster
Noxegon replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Eh, I think one should probably reserve judgement until people have ridden the thing. If it's anything like Dodonpa/Hypersonic the launch is so amazing that the rest of the ride is irrelevant/moderately painful anyway. -
Are you seeing this?

No, I can't see it - but then I'm wearing sunglasses. -

You're missing nothing with the Screaming Squirrel rides - they suck. As regards the Test Pilots page, it says at the top that it's For Grona Lund staff only. Though it says it in English for some reason, go figure. I signed up for the hell of it
