I think that's why the majority of my lists feature coasters that are either weird/unique or are woodsy/lots of themeing that gives that "proximity" effect. Also, I've moved Mean Streak up a bit from previous years. While I still really don't like that coaster, after riding this year again, it wasn't as badddddd as I remembered it, it's just effing useless of a coaster. Having ridden Hades for the first time this year, Holy crap awful. I'm going to agree with Robb, I'd rather ride Goudrix all day than take one more ride on that beast. RE-TRACK THAT RIDE PLEASE! Also, some of my decision making for a few coasters are also from some EPIC ERT sessions I've had, and some of them stick fondly with me. I think it's something to say that you learn a ride much better when you can do multiple laps, multiple seating positions, and see it in the AM vs. the PM. I try and factor coasters in as honestly as possible, but to be honest... If you were to have me do this list again in a month, it would probably be a little different. I have a very difficult time position my top 5 coasters. I hate the question "what is your favorite" because I don't have just one. I'm not one to rank things well, but I suck it up for this poll because I truly believe that helping Mitch's poll serves a great purpose in the coaster community, and is VERY well worth it. I'm going to be very curious to see the outcome of Outlaw Run on this year's poll. I don't think it will crack the #1 spot, but it'll sure give the top guns a run for their money! Neil "Phew, I'm glad that's done with" Curiel.
  2. Florida's West Coast has some pretty gorgeous things to look at with barrier islands and the mangrove ecosystems. One in St. Pete would be the first that comes to mind. There are a lot of great sunset views to be had on the west coast too. I'm actually hoping for this project to be on Florida's West Coast. I could see this being a cool thing for the Tampa Bay area. Plus the Banquet Meeting space would sell out SO quickly. No matter where this will be, in order to be successful, will have to be either a joined or very close by a large amount of hotel and other meeting space like an event center or convention center. I think that's why the I-Drive corridor makes so much sense. This really is anyone's game, as just about any place in Florida would benefit from something like this... expect for Jacksonville. No offense Jax.
  3. There are two variables for me bringing stuff into a park. 1) Weather. If it's going to be a rainy day, I'll keep it extremely minimal to just my Phone, ID, and Credit Cards in a plastic baggy. 2) Locker policy. If a park has a lenient or tolerant bag policy, where I can leave stuff off to the side or in cubicles on the ride platform, I'll bring in a camera, maybe a change of socks and underwear if there are good water rides. I think all in all it really is park/weather dependent when I go to parks, but 9/10 I just do the wallet and iPhone only, just for the ease. I would love to see more parks be bag friendly like Disney. I bet they'd see their souvenir profits go up a bit. But meh, what do I know?
  4. I gotta say, I thought this concept was going to get filed away in the land of mystical concepts. I'm excited to track the progress if this thing really gets off the ground.
  5. Congrats and thanks again on such an awesome evening. The Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT is my favorite theme park event out there. (And no, it's not JUST the booze part, though it helps) Awesome update!
  6. I really don't remember riding in the back with you Matt. That being said, I really don't remember much after lunch period. Thanks for the reminders though!
  7. THE BOSS!!!!!!! That ride! Lord all mighty that ride! I miss being bossed! And being bossed by the boss in front of The Boss. It was kinda like being judged by the judge on The Judge. Good times! Good times!
  8. I love this park so much That's some manliness right there
  9. So, there's been some buzz building around town about this "conference" launch in November, and they're still on the ball with building this theme park. Though the new word around the tourism industry is that the park will actually be somewhere farther in land and that Fort Myers is just going to be the headquarters. Anyway, here's a youtube video of the creator explaining the theme park dream: [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/4CwNi4js2GA[/youtu_be]
  10. Oh my god, I forgot about her. She was a hoot! Great update yet again Kiwis.
  11. You know, I don't think you were too harsh. It was a veryyyy awkward day with the employees. Going through not having my lap bar being checked, the restraints stuck down on skull mountain, and the lesbian prison ward worker ride opp at the kiddie mine train... I would have said much much worse. It was a six flags day, for sure.
  12. I'm so fascinated to see what comes about this, though it'll probably be a bit of a let down when it actually is just preventative maintenance.
  13. No offense, but I wouldn't take that as a reason that the ride is down for the rest of the season... I could understand that as a PR move to keep people coming to the park, but the reason to why they're not listing iRat in a radio commercial does not necessarily mean they're keeping it closed for the rest of the season.
