  1. ^ I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's really well done. The way they re-did that food court, it's a 1000x better.
  2. We too went this morning around 10:30 but saw the ling snaked around the sidewalk past the station of White Lightning, so we decided by the time we parked and waited in line, we probably wouldn't make it through in time anyway. After a pretty intense storm, we headed back to the park and it had cleared out nicely around 8pm. Fun Spot has such a winner with this new expansion. Freedom Flyer was even a great family coaster. I was impressed by that last helix. White Lightning is such a solid ride. One of the most enjoyable rides. Not too intense that you can't marathon it, but intense enough that it leaves you going back for more! Again, great job Fun Spot. This is how a quality expansion is done!
  3. There are really cool abandoned amusement park photos on the bottom.
  4. God, this coaster just looks like so much fun. Heading there on Saturday. I can't wait! This is one of my most anticipated coasters this summer! Definitely more excited about riding this than I am for Gatekeeper! Haha.
  5. What I'm finding interesting, is that I just got back from a Florida Attractions Association conference, where everyone is sitting here raving about how 2012 was the best season in years. It's interesting how the non-park attractions are soaring in record attendance, in some cases 14-20% up, and the other Orlando based parks are only around 2-4%. There are talks that we're finally seeing tourism numbers return to, if not beat, pre-recession levels. I feel like people are returning to their normal travel plans, but still watching their wallets, and maybe spending less time at the bigger, more expensive, attractions and more time sightseeing at other area attractions. I kind of expected to see the Orlando park's attendance increase higher than it was. I'll be interested to see if it increases more for the current season.
  6. ^Yes, the buildings are all connected, yet separated via 'rooms'. If you want to sit and eat at Moe's Tavern, you wait for a table or you can just go to the bar. The Flaming Moe is a drink, not a location.
  7. Drinking Duff Beer now. Not bad. Pretty typical beer but still has flavor! The Flaming Moe is non alcoholic but comes with a cool cup! It's very bud light, but not bad... It's what I expected it to be! Excuse the exhaustion look.. But this is a Flaming Moe.
  8. Most fun game ever!!! My last round was a town just south of Guadalajara, and I got all excited! Thanks for sharing!
  9. Their log flume totally surprised me. That drop into the hill was amazing. I also have to shout out to the bathrooms in the park. As you do your business into the urinal, if you stand long enough, the mirror in front of you has a surprise waiting. I bet it causes a lot of pee accidents! Very cute park.
  10. A source tells me it looks like this is already under hot water. Looks like the conference that was slated for August might be pushed back to November. The conference is where they plan to test out the game technology for the parks. Rumor has it that the park might not be in the Fort Myers area or even Lee County, but might be in Punta Gorda, which is just 30 minutes north. That being said, word travels this town like a game of Telephone you played in elementary school, so who knows. This still has A LOT of hurdles to jump through before we see anything concrete emerge. It doesn't seem they're organized enough to get this through.
  11. You've been posting all my favorite coasters recently! Thanks for the updates!
  12. Looks just like my town in Tapped Out! Very cool! Excited for this project! Great addition.
  13. I hate this argument, I really do, but here's my thing with wingriders anyway: Slow inversions, slow pacing, boring elements. Unless you're in the very front row, the flybys are hardly recognizable.. but are they terrible rides? No. I don't think people have unrealistic expectations at all. In fact, if you ask those people who harp on this style of ride, we're most likely to say they're Okay. But that's just it. They're just okay. Basically what I think it comes down to, is that people who have been on well over a few hundred coasters and have traveled extensivly will all agree that these styles are just okay compared to many others out there. I highly doubt anyone will be putting these style of rides on the bottom of their lists, in fact they'll probably be somewhere in the top 50, but no where near the top 10 or 20 even. For the GP, I think these rides are a great investment for parks and are extremely well received. More power to them, but do I think there needs to be more of them in the world? No! In regards to rotating seats: You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig... In a nut shell: they're meh.
  14. ^I don't think the concept this park is going for are simulated rides as much as it's about you creating a character and the more you do and interact with within the park, the more points and experience you build up. I think they're trying to do a life sized version of Dungeons and Dragons or World of Warcraft kind of thing, not coaster simulations. I will say, the one thing about this area that is probably attracting potential investors is that we're smack dab in between two very large drive markets. Two hours south of Tampa/St. Pete, and two hours west of the Ft.Lauderdale/Miami metro. The reason I don't see this park working, though, is that our demographic to the Lee County area, are more natural based family attractions like Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel Island, Edison & Ford Winter Estates, Calusa Blueway Kayak trail... We're more about nature than alternative-reality. I think what would be a great park for the Fort Myers area would be a small ecological park. Something that showcases educates about South Florida wildlife while still having interactive elements for the kids. If this happens, I'll see it being related to Hard Rock Park. People don't go to Myrtle Beach for a theme park, they go to be lazy on a beach!
  15. Really gotta hand it to the RMC team! They've got a lot to be proud of. Excited to ride all three this summer with TPR! Thanks for the updates everyone!
