  1. They did, yes. I want to say it opened a few years before Gatekeeper. And while the park was PACKED we had Express passes so our day was manageable. Expensive yet, but it certainly beat waiting in line!
  2. I actually would not recommend this plan. Takabisha and Fujiyama are probably the two more reliable rides in the park. When you get to the park, if Eejanika is running GO THERE FIRST. It is the most temperamental ride in the park and will close if someone sneezes on it. Next would be Dodonpa, but it will be close and under re-construction during your visit. That being said, we would LOVE if you could take some pics of what is currently going on with Dodonpa for us to post! I would also look into their "fast pass" tickets. Well worth getting to avoid the horrible lines this park can get when it is busy. Have a good trip!
  3. ^ & ^^ It's cute that you guys think a good portion of America would know what those two words even mean!
  4. North America’s First Drop Tower VR Ride Launches for 50th Anniversary Season at Six Flags Over Georgia Park Opens March 11 with Spider-Infested Virtual Reality Experience AUSTELL, Ga. — March 3, 2017 — Six Flags Over Georgia, in partnership with Samsung Electronics America, Inc., the “Official Technology Partner of Six Flags,” today announced an all-new virtual reality experience, Drop of Doom VR. The country’s first-ever permanent drop tower VR attraction is a thrilling, immersive encounter with giant, mutant spiders and makes its debut on March 11, as part of the park’s 50th anniversary season. “We continue to explore new opportunities utilizing Samsung Gear VR technology and this drop tower concept is a great example of the ability to change content for different rides,” said Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President Dale Kaetzel. “We look forward to having our guests experience Drop of Doom as we kick off the beginning of a very special year, filled with new thrills, new reasons to visit and new memories to be made with family and friends.” Riders, using Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, will become the pilots of a futuristic gunship under attack by mutant spiders. This intense, interactive adventure features: - A high speed virtual vertical ascent up 100 stories, while teetering off the edge of a helicopter; - A 360-degree rotating view high above massive city skyscrapers that are under siege by enormous spiders; - A high-intensity gun battle against a giant arachnid, spewing baby spiders that virtually crawl all over the rider’s body; - A thrilling virtual 100-story fiery plunge straight down between towering skyscrapers; and - The final showdown with a spider the size of a van, teeth-gnashing and in full attack mode. For a limited time only, guests can experience the Drop of Doom virtual reality attraction free with paid park admission. For Opening Weekend, Six Flags Over Georgia will honor the Big Game bet with its sister park, Six Flags New England. As a result of the Atlanta Falcons’ loss, the park will rename its 240-foot tall swing ride, The Patriots SkyScreamer and Park President Dale Kaetzel will ride the thrilling attraction, wearing a Patriots jersey. The park will sell a limited amount of New England clam chowder to All Season Dining Plan guests. Later this Spring, the high-action thrill ride JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis in 4D will make its debut. JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis is an engaging, full-sensory action ride, with guests joining forces with BATMAN™, SUPERMAN™, WONDER WOMAN™, THE FLASH™ and GREEN LANTERN™, using stun blasters to defeat Lex Luthor™, The JOKER™ and his henchmen. Season Passes and the All Season Dining Pass to Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water in Marietta, which provide unlimited visits and meals all season long, are available online.
  5. Our room was $1,000 for the night and that was one of the cheapest rooms on property that evening. BUT, I look at it this way, we would have normally had to have paid about $250 - $400 for the Countdown Party tickets each anyway if we bought them from a ticket broker websites AND needed a hotel room that night. So I think the cost of everything sort of balanced out. (We had to pay $250 for the tickets in 2005 so I can't imagine they would have gone DOWN in price!)
  6. That's so sad because Japan is filled with so many other wonderful things to do, see, and experience even besides Tokyo Disney.
  7. And now we are back at Tokyo Disney for their "Countdown Party" aka New Years Eve! Tonight we will be celebrating New Year's Eve at Tokyo Disneyland's Countdown Party! The park will be open overnight 8pm-7am! Heading in soon to Tokyo Disneyland for New Years! I would never do this in Orlando, but in Japan it will be a hassle free amazing evening! [twitter] [/twitter]It's seriously impressive how fast they're able to process guests into the park & hand out a free item! Why can't we do this in America??? [twitter] [/twitter]Cast members greeting guests as they come into Tokyo Disneyland for Countdown Party! Awesome! They gave us 2017 New Years glow sticks when we entered the park! Taking a ride on Snow White reminds me how much this attraction is NOT missed at Walt Disney World! lol Soon we will be watching fireworks over the Tokyo Disneyland castle to celebrate New Year's Eve 2017! Yes that is 5:25am! Tens of thousands of Japanese quietly patiently sitting down in the hub & waiting for the New Years Fireworks! JUST LIKE IN AMERICA!!! Waiting for the fireworks! 10 minutes until midnight here in Japan! Happy New Year from Tokyo Disneyland! [twitter] [/twitter]Countdown to 2017 from Tokyo Disneyland! [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew] The fireworks for Countdown Party are probably the best that Tokyo Disney puts on all year! Our first ride of the year? It's a Small World of course!!! Fun Fact! Tens of thousands of Japanese cleared the hub after fireworks & there was not a single bit of trash on the ground! JUST LIKE IN AMERICA!!! We have hopped over to Tokyo DisneySEA to continue the countdown party! It's 2:57am. On January 1st. It's freezing. We are in Japan. Riding Aquatopa! Seems legit! We have found a way to keep warm at 3:28 in the morning! Thank you Raging Spirits! We paid Sindbad a visit at 3:50am. He gave us bananas! First roller coaster of #2017! What you ride when Journey is 150 minutes! At the moment, Triton's Kingdom and Motel 6 have something in common... Getting in line for Journey at 5:10am seems like the natural thing to do! It's time for the thing that does something. It's late. I mean early. 6am! [twitter] [/twitter]Happy New Year Lava Monster! The sun is rising behind Tower of Terror at 6:35am and we have successfully spent the night at Tokyo Disney! Good morning Mount Prometheus! Thank you for letting us spend the night with you! Had an amazing night at the Tokyo Disney Countdown Party! Happy New Year everyone!

  10. So why don't you go post pictures of every single coaster that people have posted so far?
  11. What was said at the tour today regarding taking Mean Streak photos?
  12. So tonight we saw a "non-equity, but fully licensed" production of the recent Broadway revival of Pippin. Full disclosure: This production was being put on by a company I had never heard of and it was traveling to smaller markets and we saw it in "Lakeland, Florida" which is a place I had never been before. I didn't have high expectations, but having seen the Broadway version and the original North American tour of the show... I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! It's the same sets, costumes, staging, acrobatics, EVERYTHING that we saw on Broadway and the original tour. The talent was FANTASTIC!!! The girl who played the Leading Player killed it. Pippin was wonderful, and the rest of the cast made me forget I was watching a non-equity version of the show. I feel in many ways when someone says "non-equity" that means the show won't be good, but that's not always the case. I have to be honest, when we walked into the theater, and it seemed like an older "college campus" style venue and the clientele was a bit like stepping onto a Holland America cruise ship, I was a bit worried. But seriously, we couldn't believe what we we were watching and how close this show came to the Broadway revival. And sure, there were MINOR little details you could pick out, mostly to do with some of the acrobatics (like they had a balance wheel at the start of the 2nd act instead of the balance blocks & cylinders. Not a big deal.) But all the tricks and acrobats were all there. Fire jugglers, silks, lyra, strong men, knife throwers, balance beams, costume quick changes, magic tricks, etc. If you're not familiar with Pippin it's not the easiest show to describe. It was created by the same guy that did Wicked, many years prior, and it's basically a "show within a show" presented by an acrobatic theater troupe. The story has amazing twists and turns you don't think it will take. The music is FANTASTIC and you'll be singing "We've got Magic to do..." and "No Time At All" the rest of the way home. Many people I've talked to have no idea what the show is about, but absolutely *LOVE* it once they've seen it. It's a bizarre show in a fun, whimsical, funny and entertaining way. In short, there is nothing "normal" about Pippin at all, which is probably why I like it so much! The show continues it's tour through June 18th hittings some "interesting" places that I would think you wouldn't normally see a Broadway show of this caliber in (Scranton, PA; Hays, KS; Flint, MI; Norfolk, VA to name a few) and you can get the full show listing here: http://www.pippinontour.com/ Seriously, though, this *IS* the LEGIT show! What we saw tonight was as close to the Broadway/Original Tour productions as you can get! We highly recommend it!!! Here's some photos.... Lakeland is about an hour away from Orlando, so of course we listened to some appropriate music on the way... It's not often we get to go to show at theaters with awesome 1970s giant neon pink signs! lol Yay! We are here! As you can see, the graphics package is the same as the Broadway version, but we weren't too sure what to expect. I gotta be honest, I was worried walking into the theater. It's older, certainly has a very "plain" feel to it. Yay! Orchestra pit! Live music! That's a huge plus! When I'm used to venues like NYC Broadway theaters or the Dr. Phillips Center, this place didn't compare. But, the show was here, and it was GREAT so that's all that mattered! Even the curtain sort of just felt like a giant old bed sheet. Not trying to be down on the place, but just being honest. I mean, really, it turned out to be "fine" and it's more of a "don't judge a book by it's cover" scenario. I would absolutely come back here. Again, same graphics package as Broadway. And the show did a great job of living up to expectations! The following are some photos from the show. You can see that all the acrobatics, set pieces, and props are all included in this version! Very impressive! The actor playing Pippin was just fantastic! Same with the Leading Player. They both totally nailed it! And Pippin is one of those shows where how they are presenting the story is almost as important as the story itself. This staging did not disappoint one bit! By the end of the first act we knew this was the right choice to come see this production! Also, I was very happy to see the Pippin curtain replace the giant bed sheet! lol Take a bow, cast! You guys deserve it! Seriously, having seen the Broadway and the original tour version of the show, this did not disappoint at all! Here's more details about the tour: http://www.pippinontour.com/index.php And their teaser video:
  13. Stupid. That's the name of this thread, not a coaster.
  14. Sorry, but we decided not to go through with the Patreon. We felt it just wasn't the right fit for TPR.
  15. Grow a pair and stop being insecure.
  16. It's a nice change from the Cedar Point thread. Thinking about a lot of the random accidents we've heard about recently, I think there's a lot of stuff that I rode in China years ago, that I wouldn't ride today.
  17. I made the mistake of reading the forums this week. I need to go back to pretending they don't exist so my life will be more stress free...
  18. Geez, seems like cheating to me! I would think the park would have rules set up to prevent bogus stuff? This is exactly what I'm talking about!!!!! Seriously... WHO GIVES A FUUUUCK!!!!! You are playing for crap the park is throwing away. So based on that response would you have been one of the people shouting, yelling, and complaining that people were "cheating" at the "cool thing you got to do and you should shut up and NOT complain because assholes just like you are the exact reason why we don't do it anymore" game???? This shiit makes my head hurt. You get to do something cool at a park that no one else gets to do and that should make you happy. But that's not enough for you. You have to add drama and stupidity to it and make it not fun anymore. So what if they figured out a clever way to keep the water in the cup. THATS THE WHOLE FUCKING IDEA OF THE GAME!!! Ugh. You make me honestly sick. We could be doing so much cool sh!t and doing awesome events again, but it's because of people exactly like you that we don't. Thanks. I hope you're happy. We honestly discussed a couple of weeks ago opening up some of the days on one of our private tours this year and doing a couple more "bash" events in the mid-west and east coast. I came really close to say "ok, let's do it! We'll give it another try!" But then I see posts like this and I realize I can't. I have honestly lost all patience with people that it is not worth my time or effort to put up with it.
  19. That's the thing, there weren't really any rules, but you had people who decided they were going to "make up" rules, and then become the police for their own made-up rules, telling other people what they can and can't do, etc, etc... I remember at one point having to shout at a group of people saying something like "FFS people, you hold a cup of water on the roller coaster. THAT'S IT!!! The idea here isn't about it being some stupid competition the idea is that you CAN'T NORMALLY DO THIS DURING THE DAY AND IT'S A FUN AND COOL THING TO DO so shut the FUUUUCK up, stop your complaining, go grab a cup of water and HAVE FUN!!!!" And then people still continued to argue over what was the right and wrong way to hold a cup of water or what "counted" towards your score, etc... In case you haven't noticed, I've pretty much "given up" on humanity, which most certainly includes idiot self-entitled insecure die-hard fact checking roller coaster nerds. We don't need them. The rest of you who can have FUN at a park without being super annoying, you're welcome to stay here and hang out!
  20. Yes and unfortunately we had to stop doing them because people forgot that it was supposed to be about "fun" and took it too seriously, created drama, problems, flighting over rules and prizes, and it was no longer worth my time and effort to do something cool when people were assholes about. Hmm...sounds familiar doesn't it?
  21. Banned for 1 month. When you return, if you decide to, and believe me you won't be making anyone upset if you don't, try being less of an asshole. Thanks.
  22. If you're going to come on our forums just to be an asshole, you can always choose NOT to visit our forums. Just reminding you that is an option as well...
  23. Can you think of which one's you're missing? The ones that haven't opened yet (obviously) and then I think it was Upper Clemens (or something like that), the stupid one at Wild Waves, and Zippin Pippin. I think that was all of them I was missing, and I have no plans or desire to ever get those three.
  24. 93 mostly boring, forceless and totally void of any creative design B&M roller coasters!
