  1. Uber. I'm not sure it's totally appropriate to be asking for rides from complete strangers on our forum. So yeah, Uber...
  2. And just to be clear, the invite didn't actually say it was for a new ride or anything. The last time we attended an "announcement" at the park it was for the free beer. I'm *hoping* this announcement is for a new ride, but it did not specifically say what it was for...
  3. Maybe next year we just won't do the event at all if people are going to bitch it.
  4. That is a question for the park, not me. We do not make the determination on what types of "admission" the park will accept when you buy a "Season passholder" ticket, so I would suggest calling their guest relations and asking them.
  5. How has someone who has an account on these forums for 11 years not notice that we have discussion threads for most parks: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=26782
  6. ^^ Great report! Thanks again!
  7. It's been a few years since we last visited the park and American Eagle is probably at the very bottom of that list for me, but is was running "okay" and still pretty non-offensive. I've ridden it when it can be offensive, though, so that's why it would be at the bottom.... hanging on by a lizard or something... Honestly, them getting rid of Iron Wolf only IMPROVED their overall collection of "Somewhat pretty good" rides!
  8. I feel like Great America has a pretty solid line-up of "Totally non-offensive, but rides you wouldn't go out of your way for." Such as: Raging Bull X-Flight Goliath Viper Batman Vertical Velocity Superman: Ultimate Flight Demon Whizzer American Eagle Like these are all really GOOD to GREAT coasters. They don't hurt you or make you angry at the world in any way at all... But at the same time... I'm not sure there is a single one on that list that I would make a trip for. And it's sort of too bad because, when I'm at the park, I enjoy every single one of those rides. But none of them are "Stand Out" attractions. Hopefully this new coaster will shake that up a little bit.
  9. Epcot's Food & Wine Festival is an event that needs no introduction. It's been running for years now and it is not only a fan-favorite event at Epcot but also a park staple through the late summer and fall months. This years event runs August 30 - November 12, 2018, and oh look what today's date is? That's right, it's OPENING DAY of Food & Wine and of course we wouldn't miss it! This is our favorite fall theme park event and quite possibly maybe hands down our favorite theme park event of all-time. It's THAT good! Let's share a few photos with you all... Yay! This is pretty much the event at Epcot we wait all year for. As much as we really DO like Flower & Garden and even the new Art Festival was AMAZING, when Food & Wine is going on at Epcot, everything just seems right in the world. We've got our passport in hand... We are here right at the opening of the event... And we're ready to try some old favorites and new items! Elissa's first stop was in China. I'm sure none of you are shocked by that! The "Potstickers" that have been around Food & Wine as long as we can remember have a new name and a slightly different presentation this year.... But Elissa is happy to report that they are the same delicious potstickers, now known as dumplings, as previous years but with a little bit of extra on top! For me, I have started the last several Food & Wine events with a Pork Slider from Hawaii. Why break tradition? The Hops & Barley menu has a few new items on it this year... Dallas is trying out the Brunswick Slider. This was absoultely amazing! And yes, those are jalapeños and they were wonderful! Lobster Roll, anyone? Remi's scavenger hunt is back again this year and it's great for kids to do while the adults...um.... DRINK! Find all the locations where Remi is hiding around the park! Here's a quick look at several of the menus from Food & Wine! (I told you it would be quick!) Just a little bit of the merchandise this year... One of the T-Shirts... And of course there is a Magic Band! Morocco is another of our personal favorites... The "Hummus Fries" showed up at Food & Wine a few years ago now and we are happy they have stayed! Another one of our "must have" foods of the event! ProTip! You can also get them year round at Spice Road Table in Epcot! The "Light Lab" is like Bill Nye meets culinary and alcohol experts! Some interesting stuff happens in here... These beakers are really cool! I guess there is a science behind Boba Pearls! Only way to make Disney food even better? Make cute plushies out of it! Africa has another item on our "must have" list year after year... The Beef Tenderloin Tips is another returning favorite! Full of flavor and a bit of spice! We did make sure to stop into the Festival Center to get our "Passholder Magnet!" It has Chef Mickey this year! While the event is called "Food & Wine" we seem to more often pair it as "Food & Beer!" (And yes that is another Pork Slider!) Mmm.... Wild Mushroom Filet Mignon from Canada! There there was quite a lot of "food" to be had today! And maybe even a bit of trying on some new clothes (Minnie Ears count as clothes, right???) One of Sarah's favorites in the Cheese Bread in Brazil! Japan had a new "Chicken Bun" this year, and we recommend because... JAPAN! And that wraps up our first day at Food & Wine! Don't worry... we'll have many, many, MANY more days back at this event and lots of pictures to post! Be sure to also follow along on our Twitter and Instagram/InstaStory as that is where we do a lot of our live updates from Orlando parks! Thanks for reading everyone! (Now post your comments!) 10. This looks like a nice ride, but I think Maxx Force and West Coast Racers are also both just as strong. I don't expect every single Six Flags park to get a giant new coaster every single year, and I don't think that Cedar Fair is being that different from Six Flags by giving a couple of parks major new attractions, a couple of parks medium-sized new attractions, and then everything else. Personally I think that Six Flags and Cedar Fair are about on par with each other if you look at the bigger picture. Just my personal thoughts...
  11. Huh.... It's funny how you don't really notice someone until they mention you in a post, and then I go "Hmmm....why have I never heard of this person, they just signed up recently, but they seem to know about me and my daughter and her nickname? That's kind of creepy..." and then you go look them up and discover they were someone you banned from the forum for sneaking cameras on rides. Note to self: Never underestimate the pure stupidity of humanity. Note to everyone else: Don't be an idiot. Don't do stupid things. And if you get banned from our forum and create a new account, we WILL find out!
  12. Are you trying to kill your family? Dude my daughter is adrenaline junkie like me and that kills my husband cause he is not! We walk around MM looking at the coasters and she smiles when hearing the people screaming. Last visit we sat for 30 minutes watching FT launches because she though it was funny. I am not going to put her on X2, Viper, Batman, Tatsu. Yes I will take her on Revy (or as she calls in Wonder Woman because of the Red White & Blue trains) Gold Rusher and Ninja as her first coaster. So depending on her height at that time, she maybe ready for West Coast Racer. Robb how old was KT when she got on her first coaster? Don't drag me into this.
  13. No because Intamin did it first. You can even hear me in that video say "...and Hydra thought they were first!"
  14. OK, I've gone back and updated the post with a LOT of photos! The park was very generous with the materials they sent and I cannot thank them enough!
  15. Carowinds Makes Bold Strike with Biggest Investment to Date Copperhead Strike, the Carolinas’ first double launch coaster, joins new themed area and hotel to bolster park’s regional destination appeal CAROWINDS, Charlotte, N.C. – Carowinds will mark a turning point in its evolution as a destination amusement park when it introduces Copperhead Strike, the Carolinas’ first double launch coaster, for the 2019 season. Copperhead Strike simulates the harrowing chase of getaway cars racing through rolling farmland, sending riders on two launches through a relentless winding ride over half a mile of steel. In this innovative ride, the coaster dynamics are carefully crafted to offer a thrilling and intense low-to-the-ground experience. With three 16-passenger trains fashioned after 1930s coupes, Copperhead Strike sends riders cruising into a Jojo roll right out of the station. They then go into a lightning fast launch to a 360° loop, the second of five inversions, moving into a series of near-miss twists, turns and flips. Without slowing down, the ride launches a second time to accelerate into a memorable hang time loop, leaving passengers breathless and wondering which way is up. The new coaster is the central element of Blue Ridge Junction, a new immersive, richly themed area inspired by the majestic beauty and easy-going culture of the Blue Ridge Mountain region of the Carolinas. Conceived for the purpose of engaging all five senses, the redesigned seven-acre area will feature the new Blue Ridge Country Kitchen restaurant in the former Wings restaurant location. More transformational features will open at Carowinds in 2019: The new SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Carowinds, a 130-room hotel currently under construction, is expected to welcome its first guests late in the year. Also added for the first time is a new dormitory to house students from across the region and around the world, allowing the park to develop programs such as a full internship for travel and tourism students. These features, along with the new roller coaster and themed area, encompass the largest investment in the park since its opening in 1973. “This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to being the premier entertainment destination of the Carolinas for families and thrill seekers alike,” said Pat Jones, Carowinds’ vice president and general manager. “Copperhead Strike adds a completely different experience than our other world-class coasters, giving our guests a diverse park-wide experience that satisfies like never before. Blue Ridge Junction, the restaurant and our new hotel are additions we know our guests will enjoy, ensuring Carowinds continues to be the place where the Carolinas come together to create lasting memories for generations to come.” Season pass holders will be among the first to experience Copperhead Strike in spring 2019. Fans can purchase 2019 season passes now at Carowinds.com at the lowest price of the season, and receive unlimited visits for the rest of 2018 and all of 2019. Those who can’t wait to experience the thrills of Copperhead Strike can take a virtual ride at http://www.Carowinds.com/CopperheadStrike where they can also view renderings, ride stats and more. Copperhead Strike is designed and manufactured by Mack Rides of Waldkirch, Germany, a recognized leader in roller coaster development. Below are images from the rendering of the final ride, track that is currently being manufactured, and the latest construction from the ride site.
