  1. Although "SV" is perfectly acceptable.
  2. I don't. Speaking as a bigger guy myself, you either need to "be smart" about getting into a train to have the best possible chance to ride, or... if you get to the point where you really cannot ride due to your weight, do something about it. There's been a couple of times in my life where I've come close to having an issue and I immediately did something about it. In almost 100% of the cases, if you can't fit on a ride then that is YOUR FAULT and you need to do something about it if you want to keep riding roller coasters. Don't blame the park or anyone other than YOURSELF. The only other reason would be if you have some sort of medical issue, and in those cases, perhaps you shouldn't be riding roller coasters in the first place? I'll bet at least 50% of those people who you've seen get the "Walk of Shame". if not more, probably wouldn't if they were just a bit smarter about riding by following some of the advice above. I mean, for example, we've had even seasoned "big guys" on our tours where I'll go to help them with a lap bar and I'll see the seat belt buckle RIGHT UNDER the lap bar stopping it from going down further. I'll be like "DUDE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!?!" and they'll move the seatbelt buckle and they'll get the green light just fine. And like, if you're a big guy, and you've got a huge honkin wallet in your back pocket that is 1-2 inches thick (and trust me I've seen this) PUT THE WALLET OFF TO THE SIDE OR IN A LOCKER!!! Or if you're wearing a belt that is even a 1/2 inch thick belt buckle. All these are EASY things that can help you fit better on rides.
  3. This is not the first time I've seen someone ask for advice about a bigger rider fitting into coasters. During TPR's ERT sessions I see quite often people won't fit and it's not even due to their size, it's due to other factors that could easily be avoided and you'll fit with fewer or no problems at all. Read below and if you're a bigger person at all, consider using these helpful tips next time you ride... - Were you wearing a belt? Take it off. - Did you have ANYTHING in your pocket at all? Take EVERYTHING out of your pockets. - Did you make sure the seat belt buckle wasn't right under where the bar needed to push down? - Pull your shirt up a bit and make sure the material on your shirt and/or shorts isn't bunching up causing that bar not to go down just a little bit more. - Lift your gut over the bar - Scan the crew before you sit down. Make sure you're sitting on a side where it looks like the op could put more strength into pushing your bar down. These are often the most common things I see during our ERT sessions when people can't fit. 99% of the time one of these things will resolve that issue. The other thing to remember is this: If you are a bigger person and you know it, then you need to go into every park realizing that you may not fit on some rides. This is not the parks fault. Ride manufacturers often have regulations about what is and isn't "safe" for their attractions. If you want to ride a specific ride and you cannot fit, and the above methods still aren't working for you, then it's time to hit the diet and the gym. And that is, honestly, the best advice I can give.

  5. I really hope this ride does more than what is presented in this video when it's finally open. I honestly don't "get it."
  6. Seriously? Did you really think they were including the Toboggan when they said "coasters???"
  7. My thoughts exactly. I really like the two coasters and if they left those in place and actually built up a solid FEC around them I think they'd have a winning product that would suit the area well for years to come.
  8. I have never actually seen this show.... and now I never will!
  9. You still see them on the traveling fair circuit. Wouldn't surprise me if one of those operators bought it.
  10. Let's be honest here... I don't think the clientele they have been going after the past few years are really the "luxury resort" type. If anything, I could totally see them taking a hotel like Royal Pacific and "downgrading" it to match the other lower-cost hotels along that stretch of their property.
  11. I don't frequent this thread that much so I had no idea that people were self-hyping the Racer or SoB rumors or any of that crap until today when I was doing more research. The first time I saw the park say ANYTHING about an announcement was yesterday. I assumed, based on how much lead time we normally get on a bigger announcement that this would be something fairly minor yet enjoyable. I also assumed since there have been some discoveries recently of a B&M possibly going in for 2020 that they wouldn't be putting in two major additions back to back. Maybe I'm just smarter that your average coaster nerd (I doubt it) but I easily put two and two together thinking this wouldn't be anything huge and I most certainly didn't hear *ANY* hype for it at all! Why do you think we stopped catering to your stereotypical "coaster enthusiast" on the forums, closed our tours from having just anyone join, and are so quick to block and ban people from our socials and our forums? It's bad enough I'm seeing some names come through for West Coast Bash registrations that make me go "uggggghhhhhhh!" (we'll see just how long I have the patience to put on that event.) Quite frankly, we don't WANT those people part of TPR at all. The further we can distance ourselves away from most coaster enthusiasts the better. And if that makes us more of a self-appointed "elitist" group (which I've heard people call TPR) then I'm 100% totally fine with that! The older I get the less time and patience I have for idiot people who want to do nothing but "shitposting" (which is a thing I will still never understand. Why would you want to be dumb on purpose?) Sorry, I ranted there for a moment. I'll stop now.... GO VINTAGE CARS! YAY!!!!
  12. There would be no reason to remove this ride for a Roar conversion. Do you think they'll ever get rid of the old Typhoon Sea Coaster structure (that Wild One goes through)? They used the skull portion of it for Apocalypse's theming, however on the inside of it (the part you see while riding Wild One) parts of the old TSC track remain. I would imagine it would probably require some sort of refurb for Wild One and would not be a worthwhile investment. I recall when TSC opened in Spring 1997, Wild One was shut down to make those alterations. I have no idea.
  13. There would be no reason to remove this ride for a Roar conversion.
  14. I honestly feel a bit bad for the park, Don, and whoever else runs all their social media. I mean, these screen shots below on our Twitter just point out some of the "false hype" and "fake news" that coaster fans have been fabricating on their own and then blaming the park for. I can only imagine if TPR is getting some of this what the park must be going through. I don't even want to open up their Facebook comments or Twitter responses. The fact that we've already had to block two people on our Twitter and one person from our forum over "Antique Cars" just proves how low humanity has sunk. I mean, if you're going act so stupid and childish as to get yourself banned from a social media platform, holy crap make it over something more significant, please!
  15. Blocked from our Twitter and now banned from our forums. Sorry, I have zero patience for assholes like you.
  16. Kings Island 2019 Announcement Live Stream: [fbvideonew]https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/videos/304471750314556/[/fbvideonew] The park is bringing back the "Antique Cars" for 2019...
  17. While I didn't ride it opening year I did ride it in June of 1992 and it was plenty rough by then. I sometimes wonder if we just "remember" things differently over the years. I mean, in 1990 when it opened, while I'm sure it may have been smoother than it is now, I highly doubt it was butter smooth and also probably MUCH smoother than other rides in the park like Shockwave. And then as the years go on, you ride other coasters that are even smoother and what once seemed pretty smooth to you years ago, now seems much rougher based on what you're used to.
  18. "Not that anyone besides coaster enthusiasts would care" pretty much sums up exactly why if it does get scrapped for good, no one will really miss it. I mean, just being honest here, it was never a "great" ride to begin with. It's not like when Universal ripped out Dueling Dragons and you're all "WTF ARE YOU DOING THAT RIDE IS FANTASTIC!!!" this is a ride that most people will skip because, well... it's "Iron Wolf." I sure won't miss it and I'm willing to bet most "coaster enthusiasts" wouldn't either.
  19. And let's not forget the time they put zombies on the ride!
  20. https://www.sixflags.com/america/newsroom/apocalypse-ends-six-flags-america I actually shot some footage on it when we were there a couple of weeks ago. While I never found the ride as bad as most people make it out to be, it's also not "good." The view from the top of the lift, however is actually the best part of the ride! So many coasters in this one shot!
  21. First of all, obnoxious posts like this aren't welcome on our forum. Secondly, if you honestly think that this is the type of announcement that we are talking about, then you are one of the dumbest people on the planet and I'm shocked you're able to get up every day and dress yourself.
  22. That report is still in my top favorite of the Oddventure reports! lol This one was pretty good, too... "I love Canada so much."
  23. YES! This is so true! I cannot stand when people are "wow what a crappy name" because for one, it's not like they could come up with a BETTER name, and two, you're exactly right, people just suck it up, get used to it, and deal with it. I mean people say "Thunder Dolphin" like it's no big deal and you want to stop them in their tracks be all STOP AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU JUST SAID AND AT NO POINT IN YOUR LIFE WILL YOU EVER PUT THOSE TWO WORDS TOGETHER AGAIN!!! It seriously doesn't matter what the name is. I mean, this coaster could be called "Decorating Gravel Weasel" and it still wouldn't matter because in a matter of no time people would casually be all "Oh man, I just totally rode the Weasel and it was awesome!!!" or "Dude, let's go get in line for D-Graw" or some stupid crap like that. Outside of many Japanese coaster names, Skloosh is the "happiest" ride name in the history of happiness. It's amazing!
