  1. My thoughts exactly... Although I'm hearing rumors it may have been purchased by another park. Anyone heard anything?
  2. The park makes a HUGE amount of their business on corporate picnics. Sounds to me like what they are doing is increasing that area of their business to have more amenities for that. It's not uncommon at all for businesses to come to a place like Lakemont, have their company picnic, softball games, etc. Even the company picnic areas at Six Flags Magic Mountain have Volleyball nets. Even if they may be taking away some old and busted rides and replacing it with "green space" that is actually an overall improvement to the park. I'm happy to see this park get a bit of a new breath of life and I hope it works out for them.
  3. ...and too rude, and totally obnoxious. If you want our forum to get behind you 100% you're going to need more than what you've presented already. And keep in mind that we aren't a bad resource to have think positively about your project given that we have 2.5 million followers on social media and we did absoultely help the Orlando Skyplex project get their approval. But coming on our forums with a lack of any sort of real business plan, facts, investors, or anything that someone with even a small amount of business background would want to see, and then being rude and obnoxious to those people on top of it when you get called out for not having those things is quite simply not going to bode well around these parts. It's great that you may have hopes and dreams, but the people on TPR want to back "reality" and know that hopes and dreams are about is useful as thoughts and prayers. So please, go back and come up with something substantial that we could get behind and when you are able to present that... GREAT!!! Until then, you're not going to get much positivity here without a dose of reality. Understood?
  4. I'm going to assume this is a fairly common injury on a Tagada...
  5. They own 3 now, their old Gravitron was replaced, and here's what I find odd: So in 2016 they added LED's to their original Gravitron, but the next year they decided to replace it with a new Wisdom Starship 4000 but they litrlly . That just seems odd to me. Also they own 3 Wisdom Sizzlers for your information.
  6. We received a press release and information from pseudonym productions on their new Halloween "thriller" which is unlike anything they've done in the past. You may have seen us post about their past Orland-based haunts like Catharsis, but this is something totally different. In a way this sort of reminds me of the short-lived "Majestic" interactive game from Electronic Arts (Google it, kids) which I *LOVED* but it was ahead of its time. Curious to see how #NOFILTER plays out because this sounds like it could be a lot of fun! Read on... #NOFILTER: a digital experience A Horrifyingly Satirical, Totally Narcissistic Thriller Starring YOU Six weeks. Four major cities. Thousands of players. One mystery. #NOFILTER: a digital experience is a new adventure from pseudonym productions that blurs the line between what's actual and what's imagined. Become part of a wild journey that spans both coasts of the United States – and into the realm of the supernatural – as the experience skewers the ever-declining state of social interactions online. It's part game, part immersive theater. Play online – anywhere, anytime – with chances to join real life events in major cities nationwide, all intertwined beginning October 2, 2018. In a digital world plagued by privacy leaks and dominated by fake personas, #NOFILTER asks: What happens when social media gets even worse? Enter an alternate timeline in which the United States government has decided to thwart rampant inappropriate use and abuse of social media by regulating it, launching their own mandatory social network that every U.S. citizen must join. They figure, since they already govern the real world, why shouldn't they rule over the digital world too? Once drafted onto the government-subsidized social network Connections™, players will engage in compulsory tasks including daily wellness routines and mandatory selfie duties, all while taking part in the unpredictable stories of Nolan Stauf (the conflicted creator of Connections™), Taylor Hill (the online yoga instructor-turned-influencer who hides "darker" sides of herself out of fear of being on the losing end of a hate-filled misogynistic Tweetstorm), and Vokorev (the unnaturally charismatic manipulator who is a little too good at bringing out the best – and worst – in everyone). "This is our chance to satirize the sad state of social networks," said Sarah Elger, president & creative director of pseudonym productions. "Our live productions have successfully connected real people in fun and meaningful ways – which unfortunately is the exact opposite of the direction social media is headed, instead filling our digital lives with addiction, jealousy and hate. With #NOFILTER, we are shining a spotlight on those very horrors, hoping this digital experience will help change that. And, in honor of the Halloween season, we're doing it all in the most absurdly over-the-top ways possible." Each week, #NOFILTER will shatter personal and digital boundaries by leaping off the screen into the real world for physical "happenings." You never know if or when this real-life video game will reach out to you. Follow your own story, but know that you're definitely not always in control. Suspend disbelief, play along online, and you may be chosen to join us in person. One mystery, endless possibilities. Be yourself. For once. ### about ### #NOFILTER: a digital experience is the newest interactive adventure from pseudonym productions, an experiential design company that aims to redefine interactive entertainment by enticing audiences to push boundaries and question reality. 7. Is it REALLY "massive" though. It's 39 feet. 9 feet taller than Kali River Rapids. I get that technically it's the "tallest rapids ride drop" but is anyone REALLY going to notice that much of a difference from Kali's drop? Or even Bluto's. I mean, it's a rapids ride, so waterfall or no waterfall I don't expect to come off dry or even just a little "moist."
  8. I've ridden Kali River Rapids once since I moved here in 2011 and Bluto's I haven't been on since I moved to Orlando. And these two rapids rides are MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RAPIDS RIDES!!!
  9. Sums up my thoughts perfectly. I see nothing wrong with this attraction at all. But I can't think of the last time a rapids ride is something that made people go out of their way to create an extra click through a turnstile.
  10. Oh, good... nice to see the walls are down on their new for 2018 summer attraction.... in Mid-September... I'll bet it soft opens in the next day or two just so they can say it "opened Summer 2018"
  11. Yeah, absoultely. That show wasn't really about producing something amazing, IMO, it was more about making sure the tech could work. I think if we see it as part of a new Illuminations, it will be one of many things that would be included in the show.
  12. Remember that Happily Ever After started the NIGHT AFTER Wishes ended. I'm sure they are going to be testing the new show for MONTHS before it opens and they'll have everything in place to swap out the old for the new. I mean, we already know that the drone show at Disney Springs last year was a "test" to see how well drones will work over water. Hmmm.... If that test was successful or not, or if it was even for "New Illuminations" we will only know sometime next year...
  13. I just watched it again today. I love the show, but really... First three minutes... AMAZING! Fire barge! YESSSS!!! Next five minutes.... Zzzzzzzz Show finale... AMAZING!!! And here is that finale for you... [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew] Honestly, the show is great, but it really feels "tired" in that so much technology has advanced in 20 years for being able to put together a really EPIC nighttime show.
  14. WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?!?!? Are you even aware that there are MORE DISNEY REVIEW SITES, Instagram feeds, Twitter feeds, blogs, etc, than ANY OTHER AMUSEMENT PARK or park chain in the world??? Like, have you ever looked at the Internet before??!?! Holy crap, I can't even believe someone would make such an ignorant statement. It blows my mind that i just read those words from one of our forum members. You guys are supposed to be better educated on theme parks if you're going post to Theme Park Review. And what "waiting list???!" Honestly, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT AT ALL!?!?!? That's exactly what I meant: Disney has plenty of advocates, which is analogous to a manufacturer selling something as fast as they can make them properly. You're misinterpreting me. I agree my analogy doesn't add much except more words. What is significant is that analogies instantly spring to mind, or at least that everyone has seen plenty of polls and best-of lists with a focus and agenda and big flaws. These lists reveal much about those making them, which is the only reason they're of any use at all, they can be interpreted. In further consideration, I think my analogy is also wrong. It's not a matter of advertising bucks, it's bias and preference. In ACE, if you're not big on wood coasters and funky little parks, you don't get to vote. Also, believe me, I'm sorry for replying on this subject by now. Shouldn't have to be that way though. Good content. Actually, I can't afford to do much, but I would still read more about Disney being a good deal for those only slightly more affluent -- that's not really my impression from trip reviews I read here. I advocate that theme parks can be the best entertainment value for anyone with a local park.
  15. You're obviously not old enough to remember the previous versions of the show, but if you makes you feel any better, every time they updated it, the show just got better than better and better! Who remembers the version where they would "spotlight" each country, and all the spotlights around World Showcase would rapidly come together to highlight a certain country? That was a cool effect! This version will have been around 20 years when it leaves, which is probably 10 years longer than it should have run. Illuminations is by far Disney's biggest night time show so I have no doubt the next version will be nothing sort of mind blowing!
  16. I love this show... but its time has come. Looking forward to what they replace it with! I mean, just think about what replaced Wishes! OMG! I can't wait to see what they do with a "New Illuminations!!!"
  17. I think we should get through just one "official" TPR Coaster Poll first!
  18. Yes, actually. If you seriously cannot "afford to dine at Epcot," considering the fact that TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DINE AT EPCOT EVERY SINGLE DAY then IMO you shouldn't have a right to vote in a poll where people are making decisions based on "expert opinions" ranking ALL the restaurants at parks around the world. I mean, how credible would Gordon Ramsey be, let's say, if he wrote a book on the "best restaurants in the world" but didn't include some of the best restaurants in the world because he couldn't afford to eat there! Do you see now how insanely STUPID that sounds??? It would be one thing if the award was "Best Amusement Park Food on a Budget" but that's not what it is. It is simply "BEST AMUSEMENT PARK FOOD" so that should take into account everything from the cheapest funnel cake to Monsieur Paul. And that being said, Epcot has plenty of different options that are all FANTASTIC ranging from lower cost quick service to higher end dining. My original comment was mostly in jest pointing out just how insanely obnoxious and stupid the Golden Ticket Awards are. And your post is equally as obnoxious and ignorant. Perhaps maybe you should know what you are talking about before you post here again. Like, seriously? You can't afford to eat at Seasons or the China Quick Service restaurant or any of the Food & Wine/Flower & Garden booths? Or getting some amazing Chicken Katsu Curry at the Japan quick serve? Or maybe the French bakery or get apps at Spice Road Table? You do realize those places are CHEAPER and absoultely higher quality and better value for money than most Six Flags or Cedar Fair offerings right? I don't even know how to respond to that clump of words. So basically what you just said is that the best food in amusement parks shouldn't be on the Amusement Today Awards because it's the best amusement park food. THAT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL!!! I am seriously now dumber for having read your post. Ugh, please do us all a huge, HUGE favor and get off our forum if you're going to make stupid posts.
