  1. Hello all, Fairly burned and on an empty stomach, I returned from Soak City's opening day last night. Overall it was a really fun day! Nothing too out of the ordinary in the park, but the main attraction of today was obviously the noon opening of Breakers Bay. I got to the gates around 11:40 & waited it out. Finally, after a great speech by marketing, Larry McKenzie & that one clown thing (don't wanna even try to spell it haha) cut the ribbon & Soak City/Breakers Bay was open! I'm proud to say myself & a friend were tied for 2nd person(s) in Breakers Bay ever (Publicly at least), so that was kinda cool! After riding ripcord a couple times & just chilling in Challenge Park, I went back out to my car, got my swimming trunks & went to Breakers to finally try it out. When I got in the water was FREEZING, but after a lil' while it warmed up. I waited about 10 minutes, and finally the waves started. It was such a great experience knowing that you've been following the thing you're sitting in for the past 7-8 months! After about a minute of waves, the wave cycle stopped. There was a mini-uproar of "Where'd the waves go?" and "This is stupid" erupted and people started leaving. I really felt bad so I decided to just stay in there & see if anything would change the next cycle. Nope. I really hope they change/have changed that, because if they don't, that's a ridiculously short cycle! (I'm guessing they were just testing the cycles & what not). Then I went over to the other side of Soak City. I road all of the slides (excluding Hurricane Falls), and then left. Fast, Faster, and Fastest were really fun, the speed slide was horrible & felt like I was sliding down a ladder, and Raging Rapids, I realized I'm very thankful for. It's such a unique & awesome ride/slide! For the majority of the day, I spent time riding ripcord, riding the go-karts, and lounging around Challenge Park. Ripcord crew was awesome like always, I had an insanely good laugh with some little kids on the Go Karts, and I went on the Bumper Boats for the first time! Fun stuff. Overall I had a really great day! I'd like to personally thank all the VF staff who made the whole Breakers Bay ceremony happen. I really love seeing VF step it up & make everything a big event. It's a great change! Pictures: Those guys were there today. Just cut it already! These guys were jammin. Cool stuff! They had a tad bit of trouble cutting it haha. Finally open! I'm being overcome with waves of joy! Ha. Oompapa says "When I get hot, I go into Breakers Bay & cool off! Wild Thang Godly. All hail the ICEE Mix-It-Ups. Here's where you rent Cabanas! I loved all the signage! Guitar hero? Beach Bites! Beachware woohoo! You know you make me wanna shout! Some people reach for the sky, some reach for Steel Venom. I'm one of those SVers. Coastertube Video of the Opening Ceremony! Well that's all for now! I definitely won't be returning until June. Hope you enjoyed this! ~Vffreak07 [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=BreakersBay_tmcc[/coastertube]
  2. I figured I'd save another thread & just post the pics I took today. Fountain of Disconess Haha the girl in this photo seemed to like my camera. This crowd developed in about 4 minutes. It was nuts! The fountains were on in Breaker's today! Power Tower was fun today. Seemed extra boosting. And then the Wave was all "SPLOOSH!" And then that lady was all wet. I can't stand getting wet with clothes on. Makes me uncomfortable. They removed the other swing of XS for maintenance today, so it was literally running one swing. The Soak crew was busy putting in the Cabana roofs. Those are the Regular Cabanas, the VIP or Better ones are on the left side of the wavepool. Sort of an overview. ICEE Mix-it-Up FTW! Hi my name is Grassy Expansion what's yours? Good Monkey. Please eat LS. Hurricane Falls was um . . . Testing? So was the Lazy River! "NO! DON'T TAKE ME ON EXCALIBUR!!! PLEASE!!! I'LL EVEN GO ON RIPTIDE!" "I'M NOT GOING! You'll have to yank me off to get me to go!" The 1st & Last cars are about to have fun. PT. Rennie! Chaos was fun! Yep. They had this sign up today. Peace, ~Vffreak07
  3. I saw you guys at Valleyfair today! I was gonna say hi but didn't know for sure if it was you guys. Gator, I saw you taking pics outside of Steel Venom I think.
  4. Well I haven't ridden either so I can't firmly say "Oh this is better than the other", but from what I've seen (and in my opinion), Prowler looks better. When I take a visit out to Cali next year I'll have a ride it & see how it actually compares to all the other GCI's.
  5. Looks like a fun ride, but not anything huge or spectacular. I think Prowler definitely gets the edge in the best GCI for 09.
  6. ^ To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Corkscrew, although I heard it's a lot smoother this year.
  7. Hello! Boyscout Weekend. My end to the offseason. It started out cold & ended up warm & sunny. I had an amazing time, got to meet a lot of nice & cool people, got to see all of the upgrades in the park, got to have a bunch of firsts, and I especially had fun hanging out with the Ripcord crew! Here's my PTR: Well I got there around 8:15am, and saw that nobody was really in line, so I decided to go ahead & be the first in line. I stood there for about 15 minutes, and then a little kid showed up & started bugging the people in the park that were working to get everything ready. Sort of embarrassing. Then I proceeded to tell him I wasn't a boyscout, which I guess means that despite the fact that I payed $20 dollars, I shouldn't be allowed in. How that story ends, use your imagination. Then at around 8:55 they opened the park, and I can honestly say I was the first person in for the 2009 season! As soon as I got in, I immediately walked towards High Roller to check it out after its offseason rehab. They opened the rest of the park, and I got to be the first person on High Roller for the 2009 season as well! I must say it is VERY improved! Very very very smooth. After that, I went to check out the rest of the upgrades in the park. Blahh I can't think of what else to say other then that I heard a LOT of dumb comments/quotes today, made a lot of new friends, screwed up the hut season pass upgrade system, and rode Ripcord 6 times & had a blast with the staff! Ride Count: High Roller - 2 Flying Trapeze - 1 Renegade - 1 Antique Autos - 1 Excalibur - 1 Wild Thing - 1 Steel Venom - 1 Ripcord - 6 Go Karts - 3 Onto the pictures! *Picture* Caption On the road to VF. Woohoo! No offense to anyone who did, but I'm REALLY glad I didn't camp out! Awww Mr. Panda looks happy today. Must be because VF is finally open! New Signage! Looks nice! +5 points. Breaker's Bayyyy got sum swagga. Nice nice. Games are always fun. Actually not true, they removed my favorite game this year With the removal of the flume, there is now a HUGE area of concrete. I smell expansion. Soon to be Beer Garden. Shout! - The new show! Great show by the way. New this year - Cinnabon! Great stuff. Brotherly love! Pathetic Close upppp. "Neighhhh, yeah go away I feel betrayed" They were handing out beef jerky around the park. Free food is always nice! New show was amazing! Breaker's Bay was filled about half way during the day. How they filled it up: Thunda Canyon Hi my name's useless. What's yours? Go Karts were fun! Well that's about it. I had a great time, and I'm going again the 19th! Can't wait!
  8. Agreed, otherwise I'd enter. Also I'd do the whole "you must have taken the photo yourself" rule too.
  9. ^ The worst possible combination ever . . . SLC & Wooden Coaster = Death.
  10. That's flippin amazing! Have fun getting lost kids outta there!
  11. Nah top hats with airtime = Glorious. I also like overbanks. Silver Bullet's overbank is Godly.
  12. Wow. Erm . . . That looks fun & yet . . . yeah nevermind. I dunno. That ride confuses me.
  13. -American Eagle Sweatshirt -Hollister Polo -White T-Shirt -Mossimo Plaid Shorts -American Eagle Boxers -Hanes Socks
  14. It'll probably be one of those Vekoma Jr. Coasters.
  15. ComoTown! Gah I keep forgetting it's May already. The offseason went by fast this year. Great pics!
  16. Looks like fun! The only thing I don't like is the lack of floaterness. It seems like a whip here & there sort of ride. It's like a wooden megalite that's low to the ground.
  17. That was amazing. I loved it! 6/5 stars.
  18. Oh yeah! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX3lX-LX2Po
  19. Third one can't be real . . . no park has that bad of spelling/grammar, 2nd one is up in the air for me, 1st - That s*it is too legit. Either way this is gonna be sick.
  20. Another US park with a Boomerango! Nice to see another one! Looks like a promising park. I love waterparks.
  21. That's SO awesome! I'm a huge haunt fan. Thanks for the TR!
