Why did he retire, who knows why he did, but I can speculate that this last season was a good one and he could continue, if he wanted too. I did hear that physically, he was okay. But mentally, he was tired. Plus it is not like he has to worry about money. As for the broadcasting, not long, even the bad ones get contracts a year or two out of retirement.

Photo AND Video TR: Opening Day at SFOG!

Does Acrophobia still have the ride op who talks on the speaker above all the time. I remember some videos that just cool to listen to. -
UGLIEST. WOMAN. EVER. But her family is pretty freakin' awesome, and I'm sure she's nice. Agreed, but when you have millions, why do you really care what you look like. She is a nice person though.

I am excited that I agree with two other people about this thread.

Here is one change I like. Season is being extended into October. -
Studio or ENG? Are you going into broadcasting? If ENG, what format do you shoot? What camera?

I don't know if I ever posted in here, so. I work at a TV station, WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, IN Started in April of 2001. I started out doing teleprompter, then went in this order to my current job Fill in CG Weekend CG Studio Camera Operator/weekend Master Control Operator All those were p/t. While doing those, I also took the time to learn other jobs such as how the video board worked and other things. I finally got f/t in August of 2004 as a Weekend Master Control/week day Master Control Operator working overnights, mornings and afternoons all in a single week. In Jan. of 2006, my station was sold along with others. We were bought by a corporation that runs most of the midwest stations out of Indianapolis. Went from 5 f/t employees to 2 in my area. I was hired f/t last, but they decided who got the can by when they started at the station. One person retired after 50 and half years at the station, and the other long time employee took mornings and then there was 3. I have a job by 4 months, one person got the can and another went to Indy. In Jan. of 2005 I finally got the p/t job I wanted at a local grocery store. The store I work at is a higher end store, sorta like a Publix meets a high end grocery store in the middle. We get quite a few millionaires that shop at my store (Mari Hulman George and Brian Dorsett's family).

In high school, it isn't like that. They do individual sports, or when I was in High School. One week it could be Basketball, then test about rules on it. Then onto another sport.

A high school had bowling, awesome. I wish my college had bowling as a PE course, I had to take bicycling. Going from riding none to 5 miles plus on ride days was a adjustment I never did get used to.

P.E. didn't bother me. The only part going into high school that bothered me was the swimming part, I couldnt' swim. But when I was in 9th grade, it was a 10th grade class. The next year it was a 9th grade class, so my whole class got out of it. Which is a good thing because the teacher could blind people the way he looked (lets just say he was pleasently plump in a Eric Cartman way plus 30 years). I have semi taught myself how to swim, not a strong swimmer, but can go about 20 feet without stopping (it doesn't look pretty though).

Yeah, I remember the head banging. The only coaster you got that I didn't there was starliner, which wasn't up when I was there in March of 07. -
Everyone, save yourself the time of getting something similiar but not the same of what you want, just don't ask. The Title fairy is in a bad mood all the time apparently.

I'm feeling pretty dumb right now, considering I've NEVER heard about this policy. Maybe I should actually READ TR's instead of just looking at the pics. I have to say, I still think Holiday World is a must for me at some point in my coaster career. They basically have one wooden coaster for everything (Raven-air, Legend-lats, Voyage-speed). I've just got to get out there some day! For the HW policy, they are strick about it, but I understand why, if something flew out and hit someone, a lawsuit for this park would be a death blow almost. The reason why you probably never heard of it is because it is pretty much a standard at allot of parks and most of HW's regulars know it. They provide lockable lockers for people to put valueble's in (cameras, rings, cash) if you don't fell comfortable leaving your stuff out for people in the other train ot see. Also, for a possible reason for them not even allowing zipable pockets, maybe it is because if one person sees them allowing that, the next person will go a step further and did it that way just to avoid problems. Now onto Disney's policy, I was shocked ot hear the ride ops say, put it between your legs. I was making sure my camera bag stayed in place and the bag didn't fall out on loops on coasters because I had a 1200 dollar camera sitting between my legs. -
3 years in a technical school for broadcasting, plus working in the industry for almost 7 years, just because I am not a expert on home video equipment doesn't mean I don't know what high quality video looks like. I personally prefer tapes, but only because broadcast quality tape cameras are way out of my price range, I got what I got. I would love to have a Canon xl2 for a mid sized camera. But what I really want is somethign similiar to what we use here at the station, 40 plus pound cameras with 20 pound tripods.

Jahan, Raven at night, really agree. At Holliwood Nights last year, as soon as it got dark everyone headed for Voyage, me included, and Raven and Legend was pretty much deserted. But Raven at night, as I found out in the Coasterbuzz event, is exactly as you described it. Legend, 100% agree, but they retracked allot of the ride so I am hoping for better rides this year, or the first part of the season. Voyage is rough, I agree, but the front seat is really smooth when the back seat is very rough. I can only do two rides back seat wise before taking a break. Though, I don't agree with your feelings of HW, they are yours. HW will always be a special park for me because Voyage got me to ride my first coaster. After the announcement of Voyage I did the on ride animation and that was when I decided I was going to do it finally, and well, 34 coasters later, I love them. -

I seriously give up, the video was better than some of the video the chief photographer comes back with sometimes. I have high standards for what video I like and I loved this video (I don't like the video I get with my video camera once I compressed it up until recently). If I had a source to upload a 1 gig file without major compression, I would show you.

Actually, he did. He edits commercials for the station.
