Grand Theft Auto IV on PS3 and 360
ernierocker replied to verticalzero's topic in Random, Random, Random
Bought the game on Tuesday and haven't had much time to play it yet. It is slowly growing on me, but I haven't been blown away by the game yet. Are there any hidden packages? I have roamed around quite a bit and haven't run into any yet. -
Not the season finale yet. We still have two more episodes before the finale starts. I liked the episode although I really wanted to see a little more of that secret room/wall that Ben opened to unleash the smoke monster. Looked like something you would see in Goonies on first glance. I am ready to find out some more stuff on Jacob.

Grand Theft Auto IV on PS3 and 360

I am really hoping that they tone down the size of the game. San Andreas was a pretty amazing game, but the size of the game just overwhelmed me. I've always tried to complete the GTA games 100%, and with with this one I got burned out doing all the side stuff. I actually never completed the game. -
Really enjoyed this set of videos! Here are some highlights for me... JimmyBo's PortAdventura Really like the editing and the pacing in this video. I loved how you mixed in the photographs and thought you nailed the timing with the placement of each photograph. Probably my favorite of the ten so far. Justin Saxe’s Dollywood/Six Flags Over Georgia Liked the editing here as well as the camera work. Ryan Vesely’s Disneyland The transition from Big Thunder Mountain to Space Mountain was nice! I liked all the POVs and thought the camerawork was steady on them.

Maybe he was confused and thought Dollywood was Ghost Town in the Sky? It is definitely not a "little park". I am not sure what the holes are without seeing a picture. My first guess was that they could be soil nails used for slope stabilization. I would bet that they concentrate all of the upcoming new rides along Wilderness Pass or back towards the train loop. I am looking forward to see what the next ride will be.

Mandalay Bay is super nice, I just wish it wasn't so far away from the main part of the strip. At least you can walk all the way to Excalibur without going outside! (Which was lovely at the end of August) Are the time-share people still all over the casinos there? We couldn't enter a casino without them being all up in our business.

Photo TR: That Monorail guy goes to WDW, version '08
ernierocker replied to BeemerBoy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great pics of Epcot Scott. Spaceship Earth is certainly well represented in this TR! Hearing about your luck getting into Tokyo Dining, makes me wish I had at least attempted to get into Teppanyaki while we were there. -
My wife owns a Nikon D40X and just recently got the D200. She has really liked her D40X. I think the only difference between your model and hers is the megapixels, so I think you are really going to like the camera. I'll send her to this thread so she can offer more insight.

I can't help but think of National Lampoon's Vacation with this quote. They didn't use Candace's picture on Spaceship Earth as well. Sorry you got sick on your vacation, but glad you were able to still have a good time. Great TR so far! -
Watched the first 5 videos yesterday. I felt all the videos had something good about them, but none of them really blew me away on the first watch. Once all the videos are posted again, I'll rewatch them all so I can compare the whole group. Some highlights for me are the Cedar Point intro, the Barry commercial, and just the general humor of Dave's video. On a technical note, has anybody been having problems seeing the embedded WMP files on this site using Mozilla Firefox? I noticed about a month ago, I could no longer stream them through my browser. The viewer just doesn't show up at all for me to stream them. I have checked and have the most recent updates. I can view them with Internet Exporer just fine.

I believe the room is made out of reinforced concrete. It is usually just a closet where the walls are built to withstand extreme winds and prevent debris from penetrating. These are being built a lot in tornado alley.
-
I've always been fascinated by tornadoes for some reason. A few years ago, one touched down briefly in my apartment complex. I watched from outside my window as debris (mainly leaves and sticks) started to whiz past my window. The wind kept picking up more and more, and eventually I hightailed it to the bathroom. After it settled down, I went outside and I could see the top of the funnel cloud but the rest of it was blocked by trees and a hill. The tornado ended up only damaging a few cars and one apartment complex from uprooted trees. Did anyone see the basketball game at the Georgia Dome when the tornado hit last month? That was messed up!

Mindbender LOVE
ernierocker replied to CoasterComet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mind Bender is an extremely well paced roller coaster. I love how the terrain hides most of the ride from inside the park, but you can see the majority of the ride from outside of the park. Its just a great roller coaster. -

The vest comparison to Walter is just amazing! Although, Walter would be upset that he was included in a TR that took place on Shabbos! You know he doesn't roll on Shabbos! -

Six Flags is really improving things when they now have Mr. T in the queue lines. That is a giant leap forward in my opinion. Nice TR! -
I really do hope they put another major attraction along Wilderness Pass next year. Looks like it was pretty crowded yesterday.

The links look great now! Everything looks much cleaner. The only thing I see is that the pictures in your columns look a little awkward now. Maybe its just because they are stacked directly on top of each other. Is it possible to insert a border between each update like the vertical border you have between the two columns. Or would that be too busy/too much work?

Who is kissing butt here? I found the screenplay to be wonderful. It does seem to have some language that is more familiar to the younger generation, but I found it believable for the movie. I felt this way about the screenplay before I knew who wrote it or that she posted on TPR. -
Photo TR: Scott's MEGA Trans-American Road Trip!

Would 1996 be considered as being during the era of "Old Knotts"? I loved the park during my only visit then. We weren't expecting much from the park because you just didn't hear about it in Tennessee like you did Magic Mountain and Disney. We were definitely surprised and had a great time. Looks like we had great timing to be able to ride Wacky SoapBox Racers as it was gone the same year. I loved the Log Flume ride as well. That drop in the dark was amazing.
