  1. Just got back from the park. I'm amazed to see a 12 page thread has already been posted...JZ has a huge media update to post, but he's seeing Dark Knight right now. Anyways, insight First and foremost, I'd like to mention how I called the name and location years ago Aside from that, ride looks awesome so far. Its gonna be cool to have it fly over the train, walkways, and Crypt multiple times, and should create some cool natural support tunnels for said areas. As for the ride itself, I've heard work from several officials that there would be little to no trims, so heres to some delicious B&M airtime! Also, JZ and I were wearing our LSHoF shirts. We got nearly the entire KI staff, press, and everyone else involved by the time we left.
  2. Well, it could be a Behemoth Eye in that box, but thats a retarded looking behemoth then....Also, it obviously has laser eyes, and breathes fires....
  3. By the way, can anyone send me a copy of the Theme Park Review logo without all the stuff in the background? I'm trying to print it out for my LSHoF shirt design...
  4. ^So you mean the rumors about remaking Firehawk as a B&M flyer were fake? Still, awesome to see them constructing LSHoF so fast.
  5. Jay, are you doubting the abilities of the LSHoF? Just a word to the wise, my friend....we overheard our next door neighbors doubting it last week too. What happened last night? Their first born went missing in the night. All that was heard in the distance was galloping......and slithering.....and fire.... Fires started by LASERS!!!!111!one! So yeah. I'm riding LSHoF tomarow.
  6. ...And then I laugh my ass off because I was right about it being a Maverick-esque coaster named Diamondback the whole time?
  7. Yeah, it was great to hang out with you too... Reguarding those shirts, I'm just using transfer paper to print the design onto a white shirt. I'm making one for me, and one for JZ right now.
  8. I was thinking logo on front, TPR on back for the one I'm making. Sort of an unofficial official TPR shirt In other news, why didnt you guys tell me you were going up to KI today? Its my day off, and I could meet you there...Oh well, theres always wednesday!
  9. The only job an amusement park enthusiast should have: ride operator. I work at Coney Island (the retarded Ohio one, not New York), and I've really grown attached to the place over the last three years. Sure its nothing spectacular, but after my Knoebels trip, I can really see how a few small improvements like Cosmotron-izing the Flying Bobs and installing a few newer flats could make Coney Island Ohio a great park once again. Of course, a medium wooden coaster wouldn't hurt either
  10. All I'm gonna say is that I think Heath Ledger was one of my favorite Joker's out of all the continuities I've seen. Granted, I'm not enough of a comic book geek to read them all, but I've still seen enough to say that. Really too bad he had to die, because I would love to see him come back in another Batman movie.
  11. Looks like a cross between flyers, a condoor, and rock-o-planes. Definately a winner in my book. I'd love to try one out...
  12. Nice theory, but none of those snakes seem to have the red coloring to them that the track, signs, and eye hint at.
  13. *cough*Diamondback*cough* I've been saying it since '07, and it just keeps gaining more and more support..... Either that, or LSHoF.
  14. Hmm..I know a guy who can make shirts, but I dont think he'll have enough time. I'll just duct tape a LSHoF sign to a white shirt or something. Media wise, awesomeness. Maybe that tonic holds some clue. Did it say anything besides the tremor bit? Also, cure for speed=win? It definately looks like this thing will be taller than SoB if thats the case.
  15. Who here's going to the August 6th announcement? I'm gonna be there, probably holding a LSHoF sign...
  16. Laser Hawk Snake Horse on the Moon?
  17. I second that. LSHoF must go down in history. In other news, stopped by KI today. WAY TO BUSY! Seriously, for a park with no key attraction on a rainy weekday with no events going on, there should not be a 45 minute wait for Beast! In fact, in the 15+ years I've had my season pass to KI, I've never had to wait anymore than 30 minutes for Beast... Anyways, I saw a sign that JZ forgot to post "Watch your hands and feet!" More fuel for Diamondback? Snakes bit at hands, and they'll probabbly eat your feet if you get to near them or something
  18. Most of these new signs are furthering my Diamondback theory. One thing though is that infrared one. What does that have to do with anything? Infraed is the opposite of an old fashion mine town, or any snakes that may inhabit them.
  19. Grrr. Your so lucky to make that trip on Friday. I havent been up to Hershey in ages, and Knoebels is my new favorite park! Anyways, no big deal on cancelling KI. As long as the meet is before Aug 23, I'll be glad to meet you there.
  20. Well that explains the park striking back. But I still want it to incorperate Cobra, since that was my favorite ride in the park before they tore it down.
  21. I know how addicting Fascination can be. When I went to Knoebels, I ended up wasting $10 on it. I would've played more, but Phoenix is much more addicting then Fascination. Or anything else in existance for that matter.
  22. So...close! I just checked RCDB, and King Cobra was installed 24 years ago...The only big attraction 36 years ago was Bavarian Beetle, but that doesn't seem to menacing. Then again, maybe that 36 is some sort of code..If you check RCDB, KC is 24 years old, and Demon is 31. I don't know how those relate to each other aside from location, but they both fit the demon eye thing, and re-using long defunct coasters seems to be a 'strike back/revenge' type of thing. So yeah, Diamondback. Even James agrees theres a slight possibility.
  23. Just thought I'd post here since I hit the park that day. Actually, retarded story: Last week, JZ texted my cellphone about a trip up with James and a friend, asking me to be the fourth member. I gratefully accepted since I had never gone to IB before, but before we could go over details, JZ told me he couldn't make it anymore. So I just grabbed my friend Alex, and we went on our own. We eventually met up with James in line for Steel Hawg around 5pm, but they had to leave shortly afterwards since they only had 1 rides session paid for....Anyways, my quick non-photo tr (because the camera on my phone sucks) Alex and I arrived at about 1ish. The storms were still clearing up, so when we got there everything was closed down. We each bought a discounted combo pass for $30 each, and started to walk around. While we waited for the coasters to open, we did a few flats like Tilt-a-Whirl, Paratrooper, and the Yo-yo. I'm definately gonna have to say that location easily double's the thrills of all flats, and that Coney needs a Yo-yo! Once we were done with Music Express, we saw high rides testing/running, so we took the Skyride back towards the North side. After a trip on Double Shot (since I'm an airtime fanatic), we found the arcade. DDR Extreme=yay. Though I havent played DDR in a year, I was happy to see they had my favorite machine version. I don't really like Supernova, and I havent tried Supernova 2 yet, even though Coney just got a copy of that machine a few weeks ago. Anyways, Alex and I played a round, and started our credit run. Hoosier Hurricane: Its a solid out and back with great location, but IMO it doesn't deliver as much as it looks like it should. We ended up riding it 3 times; once in front, and twice in the back. Cornball Express: Not sure if its in my top list, but its definately up there. Great airtime, nice twists, and great pacing/location. I'd compare it to Cyclops at Mt. Olympus mixed with a Holiday World woodie. Only got 4 rides on it, but I'd definately go back to IB just to marathon that ride. Backseat ride is a must! Tig'rr: My first Jetstar coaster..not the best ride in the world, but the lack of restraints made it awesome. I loved the akward semi-airtime that you got going down the drops. Galaxi: Coney has Pepsi Python, which is based on galaxies, so I sort of knew what to expect. However, Galaxi turned out to be pretty fun between location, altered layout, and every seat being open (Coney won't let anyone on the very back seat of Python because it's not padded). Fun ride, and the airtime on the first two drops was great! LoCoSuMo: Fun ride, but its a horrible capacity beast when it only runs 1 train. I liked how it was half dark ride/half coaster, though it was a bit jerky. Still, can't beat the bear! Steel Hawg: The first time I rode it was when we met up with James. He let me and Alex take the front row, though Alex stole the right side from me (I got him back on our second run) Hawg is a really fun ride, filled with hangtime, twists, inversions, and an awesome first drop. Also, the lift hill is REALLY fast, like El Toro or Millenium Force speed. Anyways, great addition to the park. I hope S&S can put some more of these things in other parks... With all the coasters out of the way, we hit the flume, Den of Lost thieves (my gun was broken ), and re-hit some rides. We didn't play any Fascination because it looked pretty empty, and I wanted to save SOME money. Eventually, we left for Cincinnati at about 8pm. Overall, IB is a great park, though there are some places where it feels empty. I'd love to go back sometime, and I'd REALLY love it if Coney could take a few hints from them (over-water attractions, stacking rides, decent coasters, etc)
  24. I'm gonna have to lean away from "Mustang" as the coaster name. It could just be me, but I dont think horses have scaly red eyes... Actually, back when I thought there could be a Maverick-esque ride in that area (Swan lake), the name I gave that idea was Diamondback. Maybe I was closer than I thought? Either way, I can't wait till the 6th! The anticipation is killing me now.
