  1. ^^ I'm hoping that I will be able to get there when you are in the neighborhood, but I could also be caught up in my degree project. ^ Like any other spinning coaster then weight distribution is key to get a good spin. It's like what the Attraction Manager said during an interview, "Every ride will be different, it depends on number of riders, weights, etc.".
  2. Update time!! Since the last update they have added a lot of smaller stuff to finish of the installation and preparing it for testing. They completed the pull-through a few days after they added the final piece, there is still just 2 car chassis on the track, I'm pretty sure that it will stay that way until they start to add the station building and get a floor under the station track. Yesterday they added the first of the 2 lift chains, and they are adding the second one as I write this. No sign of any station/control booth yet, so it won't start testing for a while... Adding the second chain: www.gronalund.com
  3. Happy birthday Kristen!! Have another credit filled year!!
  4. ^ In 2006 they made the big airtime hill higher and less pointy = less airtime. But they fixed the turn after it and the small hills after that. In 2008 they completely remodeled the 90° turn and all the way around the 180° after that (the one by the station), this completely removed all the insaneness of the 90° turn and the sideways air of the turnaround. And it also felt a lot slower when I last rode it (summer 2008), so even less airtime.
  5. As long as they just re-track it then I'm happy, but if they rape it as much as they have done Thundercoaster, completely remodeled some parts of the ride, and completely ruined the insane out of control ride then I'm firmly against it. But most coasters in Japan would really benefit of a good re-tracking since most of them are pretty bad.
  6. 12/20 more ore less all of them guesses.
  7. So if this video is showing the train going in 2/3 of the real speed, why can't anyone, that know some video editing, increase the speed of it about 50% and then you would have an instant video that shows the real speed.
  8. ^ If they remove Spinn-Rock then I will get pretty pissed, since it's probably the best flat in the park, and also one of the better ones of that type of rides. Update time!! No steel on Hang Hai yet, but the surroundings are staring to look really good. Close up. Rabalder area. Close up, But hey!! There is track installed!! Also Liseberg have updated their homepage with prices for the 2009 season.
  9. Not that I'm aware of, so they will probably have to un-mount the wheels when you want to get on/off a car. But there can also be a section in the station where they are able to remove a section of track so that they can more easily remove the cars.
  10. ^ It's the new train design, and by moving the zero-car then they got the possibility to mount the floor on the train instead of the seats as they have done so far.
  11. Almost there... Wiii, the major stuff is done!! So, the track is now complete with 2 car chassis are on it. I guess that the final stuff is going to go up soon as well as doing a pull through. Will post another update as I see/find something new.
  12. ^ It's probably not a clone of any other Dive Machine, but it seems similar to Shiekra the turn starts lower on this one then on Shiekra and some supports don't match (may be due to other kind of trains though).
  13. They have added a giant piece this morning, just the top of the lift that is missing. They can easily finish of the major steel work today. www.gronalund.com Another update: The tallest part and the lift-hill engine is getting installed, just one track piece left after that. But the most interesting thing is that they are now putting on the car chassis (the white thing being put on the lift on the top-right side). www.gronalund.com
  14. ^^ Kirnu and Inferno both runs 3 trains, so it would be highly unlikely that this one will have less. I think I have heard as many as 5 trains. And seeing that it's possible to have 3 cars on the layout all the time, then 5 is pretty plausible. And since each car (train) fit's 8 people then it's more likely that Insane will have better throughput then a standard mouse. As long as they keep cranking those trains through. Gröna Lund lists a throughput of around 800 pph. But then again Gröna Lund is a tiny park so they don't really need a big capacity monster.
  15. ^ LOL Evening time! They are done for today, 2 new track pieces and the last support are now in place... www.gronalund.com/ Looking like they may finish it of tomorrow...
  16. Noon update!! They have added a big piece today, now to finish it off... http://www.gronalund.com/
  17. ^ Intamin have made a few Twist and Turn Coasters (3 to be exact) but this one is a new design that they have made. Sierra Sidewinder is entirely a Mack product, but as this one Stengel design bureau might have something to do with the similarities in design.
  18. Evening update! Not much have happened this evening, but a large complex piece of support have been added. But hey it's Saturday. http://www.gronalund.com/
  19. There are some new pictures on RCDB, they are a few days old but they look really good. RCDB Also today noon web-cam image show's a bit of progress, my guess is that they will complete it on Monday. http://www.gronalund.com/
  20. ^ They managed to add a substantial bit after lunch today. If they keep on going like this then they might be done tomorrow. They have done a lot in the afternoon, now it's only the top part left.
  21. ^ The opening date specified on the Gröna Lund home page is the 25:th of April, so there is plenty of time for screw ups After adding loads of supports yesterday evening, they started the day with track-work. The MCBR have been installed with wheels and everything.
  22. About that flume, you should really have some straight pieces after the drops, since no flume that I'm aware of drops straight into a turn. Other then that I have to say that it looks pretty good.
  23. Nope that is not rage, since that one pictured have bi-rail on the section after the Immelmann turn. Some ECC members were down in Germany riding this coaster in 2007, so there is several images of it, in First Drop.
  24. Not much more to see here now... Oooo, what just happened, did the Gröna Lund people change the angle. So the rest of the construction will be on a slant... Wonder how long it will be until they have to change the view again. EDIT1: It didn't take them long to change it, I have to say that this view is superb and the sun won't interfere with that camera as it did before in the evenings, but if they had tilted it slightly downwards then it would have been even better. Mmmm, not much to do now. EDIT2: Looks like my word is their law Absolutely perfect image!! I can't wait for this thing to open now!!
  25. Is it just me that hopes that they change the view of the webcam when they start to get higher, since some parts are soon going to disappear out of view.
