things you like that other peeps find weird
Mind Eraser replied to zongaboy626's topic in Random, Random, Random
Dude, I'm so with you. However, I might be a tad stranger because I am absolutely in love with Sugar Free Red Bull! The first time I tried it, I literally spit it on the ground; but my friend convinced me to try it again. This time it was sort of intriguing. So, I kept drinking it. I love it, but I don't drink it anymore because it's so expensive, and I was drinking 8 per day (at the highest point) and I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. I wish they made Caffeine Free, Sugar Free Red Bull. -kip- -

* I love the smell of skunk. * I love dipping Wendy's fries into Wendy's Frosties. * I can't buy flavored chapstick because I will eat it. (Wow, this is sad, I could keep typing these up all night!) -kip- -
Stand up coasters...any good?
Mind Eraser replied to MARK's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Am I stand-up fan? Totally depends on the coaster. There are some stand-ups that I love, some I hate, and some that are just so-so. I've ridden: Intamin Batman The Escape 7UP Shockwave Togo PKD Shockwave King Cobra (skipped the Canadian one, kicking self now) B&M PGA Vortex Iron Wolf Chang Mantis Riddler's Revenge Georgia Scorcher My 4 favs are Batman The Escape, Riddler's Revenge, Georgia Scorcher, and King Cobra (RIP) My bottom 4 are Chang, Mantis, PKD Shockwave, and 7UP Shockwave. It's amazing how PKI's was almost perfect, but PKD's is a horrid piece of shit! BTE was a little rough, but it didn't bother me at all. Whereas, I thought 7UP was unbearably rough. Mantis and Change really pulled on my calves and it was very uncomfortable. They suck, please TAER EM DOWN! RRV was awesome. It was so swoopy and comfortable. Although, I could never get over how B&M put 2 dive loops on one coaster. How about a heartline?? Scorcher was fantastic! It had the intensity of the earlier designs, but it was designed to be comfortable. And lastly, Iron Wolf and PGA Vortex. I rode them last almost 10 years ago. I thought they were great, but now, everyone is saying they've become terribly rough? That's my take on stand-ups... -kip- -
This is just a theory, but I think age has to do with it for most people. I'm not sure why, but it often seems the younger enthusiasts are really into big theme parks and steel coasters. But, somewhere along the line, a lot of adults start to cherish the small, family parks, and wooden coasters. Obviously there are many exceptions to this theory. I developed this whole obsession when I was 12. I was almost hyper-manic about it. My biggest dream in life was to go to Magic Mountain (lol at that!). Now, 11 years later, when I plan my coaster trips, theyre almost always centered around wooden coasters and more "interesting" parks. For instance, one trip this summer was to the Dells, SF Chicago, and Indiana Beach. I picked those three because of the woodies (and well, Whizzer too! My one steel vice is a Schwarzkopf coaster ) Okay, I'm gonna stop rambling now. I'm fading into dreamland, and I probably won't understand what I wrote tomorrow morning.

Someone on RRC just posted that it is now "confirmed" that SWAT is going to Six Flags Elitch Gardens. I guess we'll know soon enough. -

Damn, all these wicked GCI coasters, and I lucked out and got the one DUD at my home park (SFA). Roar is so, so boring! They should have named it "Snore". What makes it even worse is the fact that it's located at the same park as the awesomely magnificent Wild One! Another thing - I memorize the layouts of most coasters I come across; but, GCI's leave me totally retarded. I have no idea what's going on with them. That makes for a great first ride, however. -
Thanks for the support, everyone. It's making me feel a bit better! Cigarettes are so deceiving. They are legal and many, many people use them. Therefore, I don't think a lot of kids take the dangers seriously. I kicked a very serious drug addiction about 4 years ago. Truth be told, kicking the drug habit was SO much easier than quitting cigarettes. Sometimes, I get really down because I've seriously attempted to quit so many times in 5 years, and I just constantly fail. The little devil on my shoulder is saying "You're never gonna be able to quit! Face it, you're gonna die from cancer! Just smoke and get it over with!" Yeesh.

I've also heard that GADV is not getting SWAT. I heard they are getting at least one ride, though - a Rock 'n' Tug, if I recall. Then again, plans are always changing! -
Yesterday, in my smoking cessation class, they brought in a dentist and a hygenist to give us oral exams. They found a little white spot in my mouth. They did a Brush Biopsy, which is basically the initial biopsy. Then, they test the brush, and if it's anything bad, they will call me. If this happens, I'll have to have a real biopsy where they actually cut a piece of the spot out. I'm really hoping the spot is nothing But, then again, I deserve whatever happens to me. I made a conscious choice to start smoking 5 years ago. But to all you youngins on TPR, if you make it through highschool without smoking, that's awesome! However, don't let your guard down. The highest rate of new smokers now is people in college. I picked up my first pack cuz a lot of my fellow employees at SFA smoked, and I was stressed, so I thought I would try it. I never imagined, I'd be smoking for 5 years!! Cigarettes can f**k up your life, guys! Just remember that please. -kip-

So, who has heard Madonna's hot new dance song, Hung Up? She sampled one of my favorite ABBA songs - Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight). If the rest of her new album is going to be like this.... w00t! Can't wait! Her last album, American Life, was okay. Well, no, it was kinda crap. But still, it's Madonna... -kip-

Vekoma Haters
Mind Eraser replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh my god! Finally, someone else says it! This is the exact technique I use when riding Arrows and Vekomas and there is never any contact between my head and the OTSR's. I never have been able to properly word this riding technique, but you said it perfectly. The only coaster where I could not control my muscles was Goudurix. That slammed me so hard, even my strong neck muscles were no match for that motherf**ker. I've never understood when people say "Just push your head to one side of the harness". WHY? That does nothing. In this case, your head just bangs into one side of the harness. And, speaking of Arrows, just thinking about them makes me sad. Most of those big Arrow loopers will be gone by 2010, I bet. We've already lost Steel Phantom, Drachen Fire, Orient Express, and Shockwave. I'll be honest, they are shitty rides. They are maintenance nightmares, they are rough (to the average rider), most have low ridership. I love the Arrow rides to death, but I honestly think most will be gone within 5 years. -kip- -
I'm completely frustrated! Our home network went down Monday. The tech support people have no clue what's wrong, so they said the earliest they could come out to our house is SATURDAY!! I freaked out cuz I'm slightly addicted to the internet and I couldnt go like a week without it. So, I knew AOL gave the first 2 months free; so I set up AOL for the week. Only problem is, we can only use DIAL UP, no cable! Having been using broadband for years now, going back to dial up is sooo aggravating! I would rather stab myself in the eye with a pencil than use this sh*t! Kill me, please... now.

Boomerang Or Giant Inverted Boomerang?
Mind Eraser replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode Deja Vu in Georgia and I was absolutely stunned. It was so intense and fun! I think I screamed to my friend waiting at the exit: "THAT WAS THE SH*T!!" lol When I was at SFGAm this summer, Deja Vu was closed all day... until I was ready to leave. It opened as I was heading out, so I figured why not? I walked over and the queue was absolutely full. I swear, it had been open like three minutes and the whole effing park got in line! So I was like "Screw this! I'm outtie." -
I've been a college freshman for 5 years! I'm on the "Extended Year Plan" I guess.

Boomerang Or Giant Inverted Boomerang?
Mind Eraser replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does anybody else remember when Vekoma sort of announced that they were working on the Deja Vu concept? Vekoma called them Super Invertigos back then. That sounds cooler than "Giant Inverted Boomerang". -

Robb, from what I've heard, Great Adventure's "New for '06" kiddieland is actually gonna be comprised of most or all of the kiddie rides from SFAW. I'm thinking "Awesome! That leaves only adult rides left for the rest of us!" "I'll fight ya for the shuttle loop, bitchface!" -Kip, who would also love the Astroworld stand up at SFA
