i doubt Mike would play second fiddle. Also, would he enter a contest where his success wasn't guaranteed?

And Then There Were None - TPR SURVIVOR EDITION!
Moose replied to coasterdude5's topic in Random, Random, Random
Do we get to figure out how to kill off people? It would be fun to try and come up with obscure over the top scenarios. IE Rapids nerd is found in partially sucked into a water intake of some rapids ride with a head wound that appears to be made by a keytar. -
^Unfortunately, I never visited it when it was there. The bf tells me it was absolutely great though. I have also been informed we will be visiting this current incarnation. (it's perfect, he gets haunts, I get coasters) Unfortunately it will not be on the weekend where we drive right by it to go to a wedding, so it looks like there will be two trips up to NH this fall.

PETA trying to buy Seaworld
Moose replied to bspellx5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Like everything PeTA does, this is a publicity stunt. THey just wanted to buy billboards on the Mexico US Border wall to tell Mexicans to go back so they can continue their helatheir and more humane vegan diet. I am sure that is exactly what people running across the border are thinking. -
On Tuesday I brough the bf to the Cheap Trick, Heart, and Journey COncert for his birthday. Our seats were AMAZING. Tenth Row, Center. Cheap Trick was OK. THey had a lot of fun which made for a decent set. Heart was awesome as always. Those women know how to rock. I will be seeing them again for sure. And then there was Journey. They sounded great. But I swear Arnel was lipsyncing. THere were a few moments when his lips were moving but there was no sound.... hmmm. THe other problem is the fact that the guitarists are now the "stars" of the band, and they really shouldn't be. They looked like reanimated corpses with leather skin. Nasty. The ticke price was worth it just to see Ann and Nancy again.

The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Can we poke you just for the sake of poking you, rather than to complain about ERT. I have been on two trips where ERT ended up being just 5 minutes on a ride(Baco and Big Thunder). Both of those times we got to ride the coaster a few times before it opened to a ginormous line. Same thing happened on Silver Star. 5 minutes is better than none at all. THe park trying is better than them flat out saying no. Going to a park that flat out said no is better than not going to the park at all. -
Millenium Force and Mantis
Moose replied to MASH80554077's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Don't we all do this already with the coaster poll? Millenium Force... Painful? Hmm. Seems odd to me, unless it's gotten much much worse over time. As far as no air time. Yes Millie has less negative forces than some coasters out there, but none? That is a bit of exageration. As far as a standup only being painful for those too lazy to standup, that's not quite true either. For me, the pain is not in the groin, it is in my knees being subjected to forces that they just can't take. -
The Official "TPR Europe Trip 2008" Thread!
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
It was empty because the picture was taken during extra magic hours. Despite the resorts being very full very few poeple were there during the start of EMH. On day one it was basically only TPR peeps at the gate waiting for the park to open, which I found very odd. The parks did get much much more crowded later in the day. Another good update, but I am not going to say I like it, because it is another nail in the coffin of this trip. I had a great time. Thanks Again. -
Surprise crotch buster

Worst ride for crotch busting? The horsey ride at Parque de Atraciones (sp?) de Madrid. -
The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hmm, I think you have New England and California a bit wrong. Great updates, as usual. I still can't believe I've never been to this area despite living only a few hours away during college. -
El Toro El Toro El Toro. I doubted this coaster before I rode it. I figured it had to have been over hyped. How wrong was I.

At first, I was also thinking elevator lift. But... for some reason, I am thinking something more along the lines of a proslide rocket slide or master blaster. It does have in line seating so that someone can be "in the back." And it might be a little confusing if you have never seen one so that the video would help explain it.

Technically, wouldn't the absolutely ineffectualy republican abstinence only education be more inefficient and wasteful? The costs of both are basically the same but there is alot more return for the buck when there is more to the "education" than just "Don't have sex, sex is evil."

The queue that really suprised me was the flume ride at Walibi Belgium. The line looked reasonable with a decent portion outside what we assumed was the station, only to find quite a few switchbacks. Still not too bad, only to find a whole additional floor of switchbacks before getting on the ride. There was also no "estimated wait time from this point" sign anywhere. Walibi operations at their best.

Bush has been trying to combat teen pregnancy by funding abstinence education at the federal level. So, I don't really think this example illustrates a distinct difference between the parties. The key difference is that the dems tend to support more than just abstinence education. It is a far more realistic approach. Notice I said MORE THAN. Meaning abstinence is still the goal, but it also gives kids information on what to do when they decide to have sex. It helps limit pregnancy and spread of std's. Neither of which is doing all that well under the current abstinenece only education. Also, it would be great for parents to teach their kids this, but that isn't working so well. Many parents tend not to do it at all or will give kids flat out wrong information.

Intamin website updated!
Moose replied to nomorefloor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here is the Link for their website. As of right now the video for Fahrenheit, Maverick, and the surf rider is the Mega-Lite. -
OMG your fridge is so empty. I hate when I get bouts of insomnia. You know you'll be exhausted, so you set aside the time to sleep, yet you just can't sleep.

Scott, I would like to request a no bid exclusive contract to design the Northeast Corridor of the Monorail Network. I swear my design fee will be within a factor of ten or twenty from what it would have been had there been competition. Jon - a monorail beam is just like one really long bridge- Azevedo

How do you know all the reasons that every single Obama supporter is voting for him? Quite frankly you cannot. I do not get all these elitist mentalities that just because someone is not voting for who you think is better must mean that they are somehow misinformed. As far a this whole Obama is a socialist, have you actually read Mccain's policy? Isn't giving everyone money to buy their own insurance pretty damn socialist?

I wonder if they are still doing this. I have read a number of articles recently about how the housing market is struggling in Benidorm and the number of (British) tourist has decreased significantly. Can this area really support another huge hotel. But like Kyle said, while the Iberian area of the park is nice to look at, there really wasn't all that much to do in it. It also is NOT the best themed area in all of Spain, PortAventura wins that for each and every one of their lands.

I didn't even see you take most of the pictures that I know I was around for. Apparently I'm sort of olivious to things. I had a great time hanging out with you guys. I might have told Matt to run off with Falafels' backpack if it was filled with Q-bots while we were still there. Do not worry about missing the Safari, we did not see any carnivorous bees. Perhaps they were in their shelter?

National Roller Coaster Day - 8/16
Moose replied to TheCoasterCritic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well Known and Universally Celebrated eh? Never heard of it, never celebrated it before, but I'll probably cut the grass for it this year. Maybe I'll even run up and down the hill. -
What kind of red blooded American are you? No meat on pizza, wait until the voting public finds out about this. The pizza looks really good. I am a little bit weired out by the lack of sauce, but hey, around here, some pizza places don't put cheese on their pizza which is even weirder.
