  1. I have a feeling that this place will succeed better than Wild West World, Save the Dippah, or Hard Rock Park. Why? THey have a market. Granted I doubt it is nearly as big as they think and WE are definitely NOT part of it, but nonetheless, there is a market. They are up to $134,200 which is a ton of pegs, planks, and beams. Personally, I prefer Flying Spaghetti Monster Land
  2. This looks like it could have easily ended with you being cut up and fed to the alligator. I'm glad it didn't... but still. THe oddest thing was when I was with Scott (aka Fire Haired Boy) waiting for Cheetah Chase and this 8-10 year old kid was motorboating his overweight mother. This was both on his own accord and her shoving him in. And it went on for a good 15 minutes. Disturbing. I have a pic on my phone, that I should upload at some point.
  3. Reading the website, it seems this is an odd combination of non-profit and for profit. It seems entirely sketchy. As far as the whole concept goes. It would make an intersting zoo of sorts if all the animals were in the ark, but I think that would be entirely unfeasible. Now for what you would actually do at this exhibit, the details are sketchy. Do you go in the ark? Do you "help build" the ark? Are there exhibits on animal husbandry?
  4. I just want to reiterate, you must show your work. Even if you get the answer right, if you don't show us how, you ain't getting crap. Divine intervention does not count as work. work.bmp
  5. My guess is that youaretotallyonyourwaytojapan. My (lack of) work should be self explanatory.jpg
  6. ^That is exactly what I love about these types of parks. Stuff absolutely stacked on top of each other and shoe horned in. Grona Lund is absolutely amazing!
  7. I also can't believe these trips were that long ago. I love these parks, thanks for posting your updates, I'm still sad I didn't continue on to Europe.
  8. The story that has always been told locally was that he was not only standing up, but also jumping form seat to seat. I am not sure if this is true or not.
  9. I grew up going to this park. It was about 5 minutes from my house and my parents would often take us there in the evenings to ride stuff. I still drive by it from time to time and it is rather depressing. The Jr. Comet was my first credit.
  10. I have asked for a new camera, a duvet cover, a Red Ryder carbine- action air rifle, and a jacket. Pretty practical stuff.
  11. Pretty much everyone I know knows. It's kind of hard to hide the fact that I travel the world for coasters at least once a year. Just about everyone I talk to thinks it is pretty awesome. But then again, I do not do too much more coastering than the awesome TPR vacations.
  12. I went to Walmart on Black Friday to buy a new TV. But I went at 11 AM, and the TV was not a door buster. It was actually slower than it was the day before Thanksgiving when I went to a different one to buy the same TV, but they were out of stock.
  13. ^For the chunk of change they are planning on spending to build this place, I hope they have a bigger target market in mind.
  14. I have to agree with Elissa. I think the topper technology will probably be an easier (read cheaper) sell to parks. Fun but god awful rough coasters would be best served by it. Hades is the perfect candidate. Not that I think Mount Olympus would spend money on a coaster that they think is only rough on some days.
  15. Nothing at all amusement park related for me. Dinner at the BF's, then possibly my sisters, then my aunts. It will be a busy busy day.
  16. Well, last night the World of Warcraft was "shattered" leaving much better graphics and tons of new content in the original world. So, yeah, I'll be playing that for a while.
  17. Yes, visually striking, but like most of these slides, much of it is useless. Only about 1/3 of the tube has a chance for the tube to pass over it.
  18. I really loved the one at Worlds of Fun. It was charming and really effective. I'm glad to see it is making its way to other parks.
  19. I have to say that I think the retheming of Thomas Town will be the biggest loss. Kids seem to love Thomas. I cannot tell you how many times I've been stuck watching those videos with my nephew. The local train attractions also seem to get exponentially busier when thomas comes to town. I'm actually fine with the name "Big Spin." Just like Mr Six's Pandemonium became just Pandemonium.
  20. I forgot that I have also been playing Rock Band 3. The graphics are much better than the previous ones, but I'm not sure I like some of the other changes they've implemented.
  21. ^I'm sorry I caused the confusion. I fully realised they weren't related, and was commenting on the poor signage.
  22. It seems that Etnaland is a waterpark (and a fairly good looking one at that) in Sicily. From their map it looks like the new mack ride is some sort of splash boat. But since I can't read Italian and I don't see it mentioned on the english version of the website, I could very well be wrong. Etnaland
  23. David Bowie - Ashes to ashes
  24. I'm still playing World of Warcraft. I have switched "mains" from a Rogue to a Druid, and am looking forward to Cataclysm, though I still need to get some stuff done before it goes away for ever. Rivendare, drop your damn horsey.
  25. I'm amazed at how many TPRers you managed to get on randomn trains! Great pictures as always.
