Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is so surreal... just watching this is creepy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Japanese people this morning... and the people of Hawaii. I have heard theres warning in California... but I doubt it will come here much. -
I REALLY like the film Song of the South. Sure, I see racist themes in the film, but it was made in the 40s, and although there is slavery and things like that, Uncle Remus is also portrayed as a cool old dude. Its very cool to watch, however, because its amazing how many of the Splash Mountain scenes are inspired very closely from the film... it really puts the attraction into an entirely new context after you see the film. I highly recommend it... but you may have to watch it online, as I believe the movie is pretty much blacklisted by Disney, and it is very hard to find it in its entirety.

This looks cool... I'll check it out soon. For some reason the theming and builings remind me of an airport or something, lol. -
The "Preview" Thread

^ Thanks... actually, thats my bad. I didn't explain. Cayenne's "table" is an ordering table, or where guests come for their reservations. I love parks with a nice sit down place, which all the Disney parks have, so essentially Cayenne's is my parks "fancy restaurant. -

This is my first real try at a CS park. I've sort of done one before, but A...its been a long ass time. And B...I sucked at CS when I last tried...this is my first serious attempt. Coming Soon...Southport:Monterey Bay. Please please comment. I have pretty much changed my entire building style...so let me know if you like it so far... more to come soon! SCR31.BMP Turtle Transit: The monorail of Southport. there isnt much at the top as its underground, but its a bit inspired by DL's SCR32.BMP I'll fix the spelling,lol... but this is Cayenne's. A contemporary restaurant with some Latin flair. It is named after the Cayenne Pepper. This is a sit down place, so reservations are required... hence the 2 Cayenne employees. SCR34.BMP An overview of Pacifica Mercado...aka the main street. SCR33.BMP This is "Atlantica. Its to the side of Pacifica Mercado. It is somewhat of a place filler as opposed to an actual zone. The Tan building to the right is California Fishing Co. The Building to the left houses the dark ride Secrets of Atlantis(or will when I'm done in scenario editor. And the gray rock will house a swinging ship. SCR36.BMP This area is the future Kids Cove... a family area for the park. -

Mountain Lake [RCT 2]

Finally... a ride named after the best person ever. In all serious though... I really like this. -
Awesome awesome awesome. Ursula is so detailed and well done its insane... despite the fact that about 90% of people probably wont notice the moving lips and the other things that make "her" so advanced. To me, this project marks a new era in the Disney dark ride. I mean, sure, Toy Story and Monsters are both pretty cool(I really dont get all the monsters hate) but this seems more reminiscent of the Fantasyland dark rides than the other 2 dark rides in the park. Also, the audio animatronics and effects are seemingly the most advanced Disney has made in a very long time... In fact, since the Yetis down, Ursula may actually be Disney's most advanced animatronic.

System has US dates! Woot! I cant go, but this is a good sign, and maybe they'll record an album and do a big tour next year. Also, I just realized why I was so disappointed with Mayhem fests lineup this year. Godsmack sucks, disturbed is ok live, and megadeths not headlining, but thats not what pissed me off. If you look at discussion boards across the internet, the two rumored headliners were System and Ramstein with Disturbed as an opening... that would be one hell of a show. I hope to catch another show or 2 this year, but I've already been to two concerts in 2011, and I cant think of any touring acts, besides System, that I really want to see right now... and System is playing like 6 hours away on the night before my math final. I dont know, I may catch Reel Big Fish as they are the major local ska band if they come around here again. Also, I may go to warped or something, and will totally go to ska luau if it happens again.

Oh My God! I NEED to make a Muppet ASAP. I love the muppets with a passion and am so eagerly waiting for the new muppets movie, that I cannot even describe it. Also, pizza is the best food there is...thats a fact. -
I have a new least favorite thing... things that sound good in theory, but suck in real life. For example, my oceanography professor does this thing where he cuts your study guide in half, he gives you hlf of it over a week, and the last half the week after. This sounds really good, but Ive had two weeks to study part 1, and less than a week to study part 2 as we got it last Monday. The test is today, and I had to work my ass off to finish the study guide, as the "half" he gave us consisted of 29 new short answer questions... with a two to three page response each. That's a lot of work on top of my other classes. I feel confident that I know the material, but I wish I would have just been given the study guide all at one. Sure, I probably would have hated doing 50 questions all at once, but its better as I get more time to study as opposed to getting an entire new list of questions less than a week before the test.

I'm playing my odds at posting this here. I have a test in about 45 minutes... but I have been studying relentlessly(put in about...10 hours over the weekend) recopied my notes, made flash cards, made diagrams and everything. I feel like will do well, and if not I can copy and paste this in the rant thread. I totally failed the first test(35 % ) as I didnt know what to expect, but I got a study guide for this test that I completed, and the last test was only worth 15% of our grade, and its the only very low score I have so far so if I do well on the next few tests I can pull of a B as I believe the tests are weighted. The Back to studying now Ghost

^ In my opinion Chipotle is very good if your looking for some quick food to go, but as far as authenticity goes... not so much. I will honestly say this forever, but the best Mexican food I have EVER had ANYWHERE was from a taco truck in Mexico. I was there for a mission trip with my family and the group from my old church, and we all loved it.That being said, my family does not eat out too much and I am relatively broke, so I could be missing quite a bit as I dont eat awesome mexican food too much, but yeah, Chipotle is one of my favorites as well.

^ I tend to agree with that... especially considering that this thread was created toward the end of 2008, so its not even a crazy old thread, and I dont think I've ever really seen it fall in popularity. ^^ Maybe its the angle, but your roof is throwing me off. The part on the red brick is fine, but the rest looks a little "off," but as I said, that may just be an angle issue. -
All right, totally about to make myself feel really stupid, but I would love a RCT custom supports tutorial. Everyone seems to catch on, but it is the one MAJOR NCS thing I have never quite figured out... and I have experimented quite a bit. Nothing insane,l just where to use each piece or something like that...otherwise its VERY tedious work...at least for me.

All right... so I know someone who watches this show, then I read about this in this thread about how it was quite a few peoples "guilty pleasure." So I watched an episode... and now I totally love this show. I literally tivo Phineas and Ferb, and as soon as I finish reading some threads here I will watch it on netflix. I call it my "insomnia pleasure" as it is one of those shows where I can marathon when I cant sleep. I mean... I cant remember the last good Disney cartoon show... in fact, this may be the first one that caught my attention since the awesome disney shows of the 90s. That's guilty pleasure #2. I am somewhat obsessed with 90s cartoons. I still tivo recess as its on at like 3am on toon disney, I watch old nick shows like Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, and Rocket Power online, and I still watch all the awesome old disney shows.

TPR RCT2 Showdown Voting Thread!

^ Hahaha. I'll actually try to finish this time. Actually, we may have a chance, since Emberfoot can do supports seemingly pretty damn well based on his arrow suspended. -
Hell no... theres a reason why lobster is expensive and not served at McDonald's. When I'm eating a fillet o fish sandwich I go in knowing full well that it is not high quality seafood, but cod is cheap at a lot of places as sea food is found am most every restaurant one way or another. This is a bit much IMO; ^ I havent been to LJS but I agree. Its as authentic as the fish or shrimp taco you can get for 99 cents at most Mexican fast food restaurants.

Actually... if you take out Black Bart's, the divers, and the god awful ski ball, the pictures with the Palm Trees reminded me a bot of a ghetto version of EPCOT'S Mexico Pavilion.

The WDW Disney College Program
the ghost replied to jackskellington101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My best advice... if you get a costume with a hat where it on the way there, lol. There was once or twice where I forgot my hat on the seat next to me and had to run to costuming, which was relatively far, but I only got one hat the first time, and since I got to work early I'd have time to go and get another one and we were allowed 3. #2. NEVER EVER EVER lose/forget your I.D. I dont know how WDW does it, but this is pretty much your time card and key to work, and it was just a little card. #3, be on time... I have heard it said that we CMs will do almost anything to avoid getting points, including speeding. Points are what you get when your late, one or two are no biggie, but if you get more than a few it looks BAD! Last but not least use common sense, dont be stupid and get kicked out, and if its anything like working at Disneyland you'll have a great time. Hopefully I'll be doing the Orlando thing at some point as I had to quit DL cause I had a weird class schedule that interfered with work... and I need the grades. -
Big Bad Wolf-Gone Wild Maus-Relocated Psyclone(I dont know hoe to spell it, lol) SFMM Windjammer-Knotts Berry Farm Ghostrider...the rides still there, but its not the same ride I guess technically Disneyland's original Space Mountain as well, since none of the track is from the original, but the layout is the same. Also I have been told I went to Santa's Village, and I do vaguely remember the place, but I don't know if I rode the coaster or not, but my mom says probably, so I guess that goes hear as well.
